I've got one of these, although I bought if from Scan as a pro audio laptop - I believe mine has a different custom BIOS optimised for low latency audio. Other than that it's identical.
Runs circles around it. But the Asus you referred to is a 17". This is a 15" and yes this will run circles around the Asus now that they can equip the 6990m which is the fastest single GPU solution in a laptop of any size.
@heroeofsand I do; that's what my desktop is for :P. It's faster than any laptop that will be on the market for 5 years. (Although I did just upgrade it.)
@otnomnoraa lol The 28nm mobile gpu's will be kicking your desktops ass especially in sli :) 5 years? We'll be having the gtx580s performance in there in two.
Umm this isn't a review lol. But does anyone know if the keyboard is backlit? I feel like it isn't and if not then that is its only major drawback to me.
@tennispro3782 I agree. This is not so much a review as look at the laptop's exterior. The keyboard is not backlit, which bums me out, but what can you do.
@Gunblade001 i've owned the sager np8690 (previous version) and g73. I can say the sager cooling system is a whole lot better than the g73. cpu is about the same around 50-55c on both system but when gaming the gpu, the g73 maxes 85-90c where as the sager max 70-75c.
The only reason i stuck with the g73 tho was b/c the fan noise on the sager 8690 was a bit too loud, and this was when I was jus surfing the web and doing hw and stuff. Tho the 8150 appears to fix that problem.
This is the notebook I'm going to get, I can tell you right now. The GTX 485M and a i7-2630QM processor should be capable of handling all games on high (and most of the time even maximum) settings. So looking forward to it...
@J0tunhe1m Correct and the GTX 485M along with the 2630QM is even able to handle GTA IV maxed out at 100% view distance full HD etc. We all know that game is poorly optimised too.
I believe you put an extra 'zero' in the Hard Disk capacity in your video description. I don't think this system can provide a 7.5TB storage? But nice job with the video! Quite like the system ^_^
hmm. im not too sure why it doesnt. im still waiting for my p151hm to come in this week. so im going to see if it does have it. but if not, i guess they took it off for a reason i dont know.
I definetely hear what you are saying about the laptop not being plugged in; I did not notice that before. Also, are you sure the laptop has integrated switchable graphics? I do not know and this may be a deciding factor between the P151HM1 and P150HM. This laptop is sometihng of a midway. At 6.8lbs it is not light, but it weighs less than some of Sager's 17.3" gaming laptops, some weighing more than 12lbs!
@Klosteral yes. all of Intels new SB chipsets have integrated graphics now.
the only reason those 17.3" laptops are huge and hefty is because they stuck a desktop motherboard in it (X58).. thats why they are able to put in a desktop cpu like the intel core i7 900 series processors instead of the mobile ones. and on top of that, they put 2 graphics cards in SLI. so you can only imagine how beast that laptop is.. if you ignore its weight and price tag.
@cptkorean I hear what you are saying about the fact that all new SB cores now have integrated graphics, but that doesn't mean the computer can utilise it. Apparently the Clevo P151HM1 and P150HM laptops do not have the switchable graphics function, but the Clevo W150HNQ does support it. Why could this be?

even though the new i7 cpu eats consumes less power than the previous years, it still has a power hungry gpu. so this laptop would most likely be a desktop replacement imo. this laptop is more suitable plugged in. if it were to be running on battery power, it shouldnt be used for heavy duty gaming.. probably a bit of low end gaming at most.
@ssippe123 The demo is actually running faster than this. The thing is that by recording the image on the screen with a camera, the framerate is cut down again, thus resulting in a jerky image - in this video.
@MobiousBlack The GTX 460m is among the best single laptop graphics cards out there. That is no reason for it to be jerky. You are right, the camera video does not effect the laptop at all, but it does effect what we see in the video. When you film a screen, the camera does not read as fast as the human eye so we see the image to be jerky etc... At least I think thats right...
@Klosteral you guys do realized that the laptop isnt plugged in.. if its running on battery power, the frame rates drop drastically. its just that once you unplug a powerful laptop of this caliber, it tries to make up for battery life by switching it onto Intel's integrated gpu on the mobo which is definitely slower. if the laptop were to be plugged in to an outlet, im definitely sure the benchmark would be awesomely smooth.
@mofalade The P150HM is user upgradable to the GTX 480M or ATI 6970 and the P151HM is not. Also the former one has a glossy screen and the latter has a matte screen.
