  • im planning on making a trike and was wondering how does the axel of the two wheels run thro the cross bar thing? run on bearings?

  • Yes theres a berring on each side of the pipe the axle runs through but only one weel turns the other just spins free on a berring. as a note you WILL need a tenchener i had alot of chain slippige untill i changed over to a larger chainsize/sprocket and put in a tenchiner.

  • Thanks il respond a video of my trike if i succeed

  • cool

  • I'm planing on doing the same thing only with a 1000 watt hub motor. I experimented on chain driven systems early on and always had problems with the chain coming off.

  • you know i had the same problem seems the T8 chain is just to thin for a flexabul frame without an idler to keep it inline with the large sproket.

The bike is on hold until my friend has enough free time to do some brazing for me. and i get some new tiers i just moved to a more country setting and it keeps spinning out in the dirt.

  • just an update :) ... I'm trying to get some help with an alignment problem it keeps tossing the chain on the drive moter side

  • This is cool. I'll have to check out the earlier videos!

  • Ok. This is where i am as of now.

I'm waiting for the loan of an angle grinder to cut out the brackets for the battery mount and to cut out the motor mount from that old scooter chassis with some threded rod to secure it to the frame.

I'm a bit afraid to try welding anything to the frame on the lower section mainly i'm skidish about loosing structural support there. i'm already a bit over weighting the bike according to the manufactures specs.
