Thirty-eight years ago today I heard this song (and the rest of the album) for the first time. Needless to say it wasn't the last. The beginning riff still tingles my spine. That voice still envelopes and mesmerizes me. The drums still surge with such power. The bass...well...is still the best around. AND I still love them. Long Live QUEEN!!
My English assignment was to analyze a documentary, I chose days of our lives. And of course, it ended up with me wachting Queen-awesomeness on yt for hours. They're just too good
Does it honestly matter how many views this song has compared to Justin Whatshisname? It's quality like this song that will live long in the memory years after JB and countless other teen idols have passed away into the annals of time. And if You Tube had been around in the 70's I'm sure this song and thousands more would be comparable in viewers.
@imbfoeticide 70's they were building their craft and had the great following and in the 80's they reached epic and had the world in the hands and sold out stadiums everywhere in exception to the usa cause of freddies sexual orientation
@BEyondDaGamer im assuming you are either around 10 years old or mentally retarded, in which case you have an excuse for your ignorance, otherwise you seriously need to take a look at yourself. PS is your mother available to suck my cock this afternoon?
Now this is Queen! Not that 80's bollocks with Freddie in a boring tracksuit, white trainers and moustache and the bland albums they started turning out from 1980 onwards.
I'll still be listening to Queen 40 years from now... R.I.P Freddie... he may be gone but his music will always live on! & I still love Roger Taylor after 20 yrs of him being my 1st major crush! ;)
Why has this not got 1 million veiws and that little girl, Justin Bieber, gets at least 600 million? This world is so corrupted!
R.I.P Freddie,You will be the one and only BEST singer in the world, who cares if you wern't some sort of American Teen Idol and teenage fangirls get all over-exited when they see you...
@Queenrock990 It would be totally different thing if youtube existed already in 1970's. This video would probably have like 5,000,000,000 views while bieber has just pathetic 6,000,000..
This is where it started, cant believe its been 20 years since Freddie's death, while I grow older, this guy and his music will be forever young. R I P Freddie :)
@Canaveral305 ...That statement was on the back cover of the first few Queen albums and I guess it was their response to the prog-rock movement at that time. It's not an insult to anyone, Queen is one of my top 5 fav bands of all-time.
@Tull29 News of the World used 0 synths, the first album queen made with synths is the Game and even then they played a very insignificant role, so the first is really Hot Space.
@Tull29 Totally agree with you, (except Synths came later), but I started losing interest with in late 70's and gave up totally in the 80's (same with Bowie) - The 80's really buggared up some great bands.
I love early Queen (first three) because of the "rock different " style but when they made it big with the operatic sound I slowly started to lose interest. All kinds of good songs came out of this band (and I did see them live) but for me the early albums were the best!
@Tull29 OMG you saw them live, when was it, and were??? also i disagree i think some of the best songs from queen are radio gaga, one vision, the show must go on, who wants to live forever, i want it all, a kind of magic, etc, please answer the question
@Damukra Sorry matey, that 80's stuff might as well have been a different band - Listen to Queen II and you'll see what I mean - They were still good, but they'd lost their drive and their way.
@PaddyGoo -My favorite also, good hard driving rock with a twist was Queen II. The artsy, fartsy stuff slowly started to develop after Queen II and it made them a commercial success.
I liked a lot of it (not so much Bohemian Rhapsody) but the style just kept drifting further away. When I saw them I was already losing interest and unfortunately it was a lousy show (overkill for a smaller venue).
Early Queen, for me, is still some of the best rock that one will ever hear!
@PaddyGoo i liste to queen 2 , and i like it but cmon bohemian, is my favourite. its great, in my opinion they were always good and epic, i think you should give the later work some chance
@ColdOasisU2 Yeh I know what you mean, that's the same as bands like ZZ Top, they fell for that. Any album from them anytime after 1979's 'Deguello' is pretty much their ultimate crap period (apart from maybe a few 'token' cuts from their 1981 LP 'El Loco', which was the sort of mediator between their good and bad period), and then it all went downhill from their 'Eliminator' album onwards.
@ColdOasisU2 I agree with you. Queen rocked much harder up to A Night at the Opera and Brian May received much of the spotlight. That's the era I love.
@jajefa15 Inn I agree Innuendo was really good, when it came out the reviewers said it was by far their best album since their 70's peak - as for the other ones, a couple of good tracks on the The Game at most.
@PaddyGoo Queen were planning on returning back to the ways of early Queen but sadly Freddie became ill. Hurts to think what they would have accomplished if Freddie had lived.
@CystalBlade Really? If my friends ever told me to stop listening to The Who just because Keith and John are dead, they wouldn't be my friends anymore. Queen is timeless, and you shouldn't stop listening to their music just because they can't make it the same way anymore. Do your friends have to stop themselves from watching The Dark Knight just because Heath Ledger is dead?
this song is just so epic, normally I would have favourite part of a song, but the entire song is just so amazing! Freddie, Brian, Roger and John do each of their parts so perfectly there's just no way of describing it :D
Queen is in my opinion the nest band of all time, and for that I named my guitar Brian and my bass John. If I ever get a drum kit I'll name it Roger :P it's a shame that Freddie died and the band's career cane to an end after that :( Even so, their music will always be remem

Not to sound negative but that was the first album when they started to use synths to enhance their sound.
