I think the SPRINT Intercept has an update to Android 2.2. already out. I'm happy with this phone! This is definately an update to the Moment.Guess all phones get updated during their public launch for the first year or so.They then revamp technology when gripes come up,then launch newer models every year or so. For the price and variety it offers-you can't beat it! I'm enjoying this phone especially with the live wall paper apps under the current 2.1 engine!! Peace...Great work bro!
I should do a full update but in a nut shell this phone sucks... We will most likely be switching her phone to an Evo Shift 4G, so hopefully I will have a new video soon!
@Royalone31 i have a few questions about that phone im thinking about buying one first off can it be used as a wifi hotspot, can i flip it sideways like on ipod and screen rotate or is it only when its keyboard slid open, can i serf the web while in a call...... please respond asap thanks you and have a nice day
I just got this phone...it's cool but when I'm on the phone, sometimes it just gives me a dial tone like it is automatically switching over to the other line. I don't press anything, it just happens and I have to call the person back. Kind of annoying. Anyone else have this problem?
@indisrizzle You can use the phone horizontally with out the hard kb being out in most context. Not sure about the home screen I'll have to check but she's on it now lol
I never had the moment and this is my first android phone, and i like it a lot except that the battery has given me problems. Even when I am not on any apps or taking phone calls. Just a few texts. Wondering if you had this same problem, Royalone31?
damn it sprint, i like the phones but my service blows where i live.... and if these phones keep getting bad reviews then idk what i'll do ... my rumor touch is sucking ween lately
@firestormcomputers That sucks. The Evo is much bettr hands down. I dnt get how this phone has lower specs than the 1 its replacing but the Moment had A LOT of issues; so far my gf is happier w/ her Intercept, it perfrms basic functns far better than her 2 Moments did + it looks&feels bettr n the hand. Gpu, evdo rev-a & pixel density dont really matter 2 her shes not a power user like me lol. Samsung is really making a bad impression I hope the Epic 4G is better than these 1st couple of devices
@Royalone31 Why would Samsung change it from 5 to 3? I think people actually enjoyed the Moment having 5 home screens. But it's good that the Intercept has an Android 2.1 update. I guess I'll stick to the HTC Hero, with 7 home sceens and more customization options. Though I'll still look into the Intercept. I'm lovin' the look. Tell me, how does it feel in your hand?
@LamarVideos Yeah no idea why they dropped back to 3 screens.... the phone actually feels great in your hand. Part of the reason I kept my Hero when the Moment came out was how much better it felt in your hand. This phone feels much better b/c its less wide & less square. Design wise it is just a much more polished device instead of looking like a prototype like the Moment. I think this phone will attract a lot of ppl based on its design and feel alone.... regardless of actual performance
@Royalone31 I never had the moment and this is my first android phone, and i like it a lot except that the battery has given me problems. Even when I am not on any apps or taking phone calls. Just a few texts. Wondering if you had this same problem, Royalone31?

@Smackey003 My gf has complained about the battery but we trying a few tricks that work with most of these phones. Fully drain and then fully charge your phone 2 or 3 times and you should see some improvement. It basically calibrate or syncs up your battery and your phones software. Also check the update freq of the various apps that access the web. Some are set to update way too often. Adjust them to your needs keeping in mind more freq updates eats more battery.
@LamarVideos Well I'm gonna get the Samsung Epic 4G (Sprint) when it comes out, right now the release date is unavailable. Sprint is blowing the iPhone right out of the water, now with the 4G!!!
Does the Intercept have multi-touch (pinch to zoom in the browser, for instance)? The Moment didn't, and I haven't been able to find any mention either way for the Intercept.
@nickspam Yes it does have pinch to zoom I was instinctively using it and didn't even realize it at first, then I was like wow the Moment didn't have this lol
Sprints site is saying that the screen is a 3.2" HVGA AMOLED... but prior to its launch it said that it was just a 3.0" touch screen. 3.2 sounds more likely but I won't know for sure until I get one so can you help me out? Also, sprints website said that it was EVDO Rev 0 which is slow compared to the Rev A devices that sprints been producing. when you get your data working can you do a web speed comparison? If its Rev 0 i dont think i'm getting it.
@HyPe5OhISiLL Not sure about the hvga but it is 3.2" it seems it could be SLIGHTLY less pixel density than the moment & it is running on evdo rev 0 for some reason. Its web speed lagged a second or 2 behind my Evo on 3g. I doubt the speed difference between it & the moment is noticeable. I really don't understand why its rev o but that can likely be upgraded later via software similar to HTC Mogul a few yrs ago. All in all I'd still pick it over the moment hands down! Or wait for the Epic 4G
Thanks for the review. I'll probably be buying this later today. I heard a rumor that the battery life on this phone is horrible, can you give your opinions on that?
@xbiker321 So far it seems ok but I'll have to watch that today. This will be the first full day with the phone so let's hope its just a rumor. Battery life is a factor of so many different variables tho. It will vary depending in each users settings and how many/how frequently various apps access the web for data. Just be sure to adjust your settings to your needs and it will likely be fine.... just unplugged it now for the day so we will see....
@Royalone31 Thanks, also can you let us know how fast the internet is on it. Like one of the guys posted its using an older EVDO Rev 0 for the modem or whatever. So let us know how you feel about using it on google maps, websites, etc.
@xbiker321 The web seems cool. Like I said in another post it lagged slightly behind the Evo (on 3G) by a few seconds. Compared to the Moment its probably barely noticeable.

When I get my EVO's in, I am returning my Intercept's.
The Moment actually has a better modem, better screen, and flash. So, yeah, I am returning mine.
Just a warning, since I am encountering more and more issues with it the more I use it.
