@williamthepunkmonk No. How you interpret what God means to you is your will. If you think that believing in a god imposes on your will then of course it will. I see that line not as the denunciation of god but the raising up of mankind to the level of divine. We are the gods of our own lives in this new aeon. 93s

@leeboy2k1 Your dad is of course right! How we apply science in our lives is the key issue! Liber Oz strips away the false ethics & morals of the old religions allowing science to liberate itself & be applied for the good of mankind without hindrance. It empowers the individual & ensures that in any moral dilemma the individual is protected before any silly 'moral dogma' be applied. Hope that has cleared a few things up. Thank you for your comment! :-) 93s
Of course I never met Crowley, and based on what I have read about him I daresy he was a formidable mind, but really..isn't it farely safe to assume that what he really feared was mortal death? and the potential to cease to exist.. which nobody can deny, unless the creator does indeed reveal himself to us a bluntly as if we were visited by little green men.lol
@leeboy2k1 Second, it seems to me that you obviously have a way to go before you can say you understand Crowley. Crowley & the system of Thelema is about life & fulfilling your potential unlike the major death cult of today....Christianity...Thelema is a LIFE Cult. Further, Thelema makes no attempt at making empty promises of an afterlife...it encourages it's practitioners to live for today & make every second count - 'Carpe Omnia'.
@leeboy2k1 Crowley did not fear death. The incident of the mule as he travelled in China says as much, let alone the attendant reassurance he already bore of reincarnation as a reality, at least for himself.
The problem is how to trust any second hand information that is passed on generation2generation that is incapable of demonstrating cogent manipulation of the scientifically perceivable universe, without relying on conjecture..whether it be embroidered between numerology and or historical anecdote or purely metaphorical.
To put simply how can we as a species believe the word of any human that claims to speak for us all/have knowledge of the spiritual unless we all can synchronize perception..ctd
Firstly I'd like to start by saying as abit of an obsessive existentialist chap I do a lot of poking and prying into faith systems, and the one thing they all have in common is lack of proof.
As we all know well all religions propagate written rhetoric and then rely (hopefully) on a prospective follower finding said faith..if said religion can be trusted to stick to it's original doctrine, then most of us tolerant folk are happy for the potential for all faith systems to coexist peacefully.
@leeboy2k1 A very well put comment. I wish I got more more intelligent criticism from those who disagree with my views :-) First then, let me point out that Thelema is NOT a faith system & to call it a religion (for the time being) would be categorically wrong as it does not share the same requirements of practitioners to submit themselves to dogma or faith. Crowley once said of Thelema 'The Method of Science - The Aim of Religion'. Science & Fact replace dogma & faith in Thelema...
@leeboy2k1 Your notion that Thelema is a faith religion is false. As Thelemites, we are never required to take anything on faith. You should try reading Crowley's liber on skepticism called "The Soldier and the Hunchback."
I wonder how much actual studying of religion you do because your understanding of religion seems very limited and inaccurate. The definitive of religion itself varies widely. Maybe there is lack of proof because you have never tried any of their exercises ;)
I really enjoy your videos. As a new Thelemite, it really helps to have you put this stuff in plain English. And forgive me for being so carnal but you are fucking hot. 93
@metronomic1 93 haha thanks! I don't look like that anymore though. I have a mowhawk & more Tattoos now. I'll be continuing the series after I graduate in about a months time. Hope you enjoy the series! 93s
@nemesis318 it's a promotional poster for high end lingerie company 'Agent Provocateur'. Google them & visit their website. That particular poster was from their Autumn 2009/10 collection or around that time anyway. The entire year was inspired by myths & legends, the spring posters contained the God Pan being worshiped by sexy nymphs! Awesome stuff
@Temaile I made things more complicated than it needed to be. I'll take into consideration the speed at which I cover things when I get round to making my next video :-) 93s
@DeadBoyLife At first I was like LOLWUT CALCULATIONS, but it got cool in the end. It did give me new hope of ever becoming a proper Thelemite. Thanks a bunch, can't wait for your new vids :) 93s
This year is very speical , it's encoded in the pyramid ! 481 the height of the pyramid times 12 of the zodiac = the jewish new year 5772, 29th of September 2011 . Spread the good news !
OZ might be able to be related to the star of Babalon as well, if interpreted as 7 iterations of the number 7, 7777777. As we all know, 77+77/7+77=156. another possibility is that 77+77+11=156, where 77=Babalon, 77=OZ itself meaning "Strength", and 11 the points of the unicursal hexagram, or the number of magic, the number of letters in ABRAHADABRA. however, that is more about the star of Babalon than Liber OZ.
I like this video and like what you have to say here. However, may I respectfully make one tiny suggestion? If you turn the music down just a touch, you'll be easier to hear and understand. Very nicely put, though.
@rainbowbriteISDEAD I have added a link in the description box that expands upon the numbers I have given. If you google Gemetria you can find plently of links that will provide information on what gemetria is :-) 93s
Although I don't quite undastand how love+light equals to 666(might you give the exact words-or almost exact- that correspond to this numeric value?) it is true that THE GREAT THERION(to mega therion) equals to 666. Not to the word therion alone. That corresponds to 247. Anyway that ain't a big thing. I hope though that you don't believe that there is only a lightside in crowlie's works...
93, Perhaps one of the best insights into Liber Oz is Liber II. The list of rights are simply expounded upon by the lines of Liber Oz derived from The Book of the Law. Specifically Liber II offers a fantastic insight into the statement "There is no God but man."
I have a video addressing it, feel free to watch if you care to.
Hey you! So as you can probably tell I've been out of it for a while-- I mean your vid has been out for a week at least and I'm just now commenting!! >< Buuuut as always, I found this video to be truly interesting and thought-inspiring... not much of a comment to leave as of today, but I will surely get back to you :) Great job as always, and I hope you had an awesome trip!! :) ♥
@skunape 93! thank you. I bought it from my local museum for dead cheap, WIN! I've just noticed that in the background I have at least three conflicting ideological symbols hanging around....ohwell :-S
The moral of my story is that there are Sephiroth of every written language of every culture that has worked with the planets waiting to be woken up probably somewhere in the Qlipoth imagine doing a lesser banishing ritual using old dead names of the planets in Irish cornish or old norse for example who knows the possibilities are endless. No one had a monopoly on sacred knowledge
The egyptians and the babylonians used the tree of life glyph. And the I ching is based on a big magic square aswell not to mention the mayans used them too the hedrews didn't invent it its a fairly common practice. The difficulty is that alot of these old cultures used base twenty counting five fingers five toes and arabs were suspicious of the number because it ment the physical world to them.
Yeah apparently the celtic and the nordic people's used magic squares as well its a fairly common thing that turns up when you have an alphabet with a numerical value and aswell keep an eye on those cultures that play board games. Some have even sugest that pythagoras learn from the druids who knows because he did go to every mystery school that he could get into.
hey what i do with windows movie maker is go to "tools" then "options" then "advanced" and then where it says "aspect ratio" change to "16:9" and "video format" to "PAL" that oughta do it :)
@artisannika Done that but this is the result :-( You use the Exilim to record right? What settings are you recording on? Perhaps I'm using the wrong settings on my camera to record:-S
@artisannika perhaps that's why then. I recorded using the wide-screen settings on the Exilim this time. Perhaps I'll go back to standard settings and see what happens. Gawd I'm useless!! (>.<)
This was a great video. Definetly gonna look into Thelema more. It's got a nice moral system from what I've seen so far. A real eye opener. Seriously people will go watch The Omen or something and come to the conclusion that 666 has one meaning. They would never think to go...I dunno read a book about it's origins and multiple areas it pops up in and those meanings. haha.
@peaceandloveinaction Thanks for the positive comment! I seem to be getting battered by fundies atm! Thelema is a mirror. You get from Thelema what you put into it. It shows you yourself so that you can work on yourself. Thanks for your support, means a lot like 93s
Well done! When discussing verse 4, you mentioned no bias against sexual orientation, including homosexuality and transgender. You neglected to mention the polyamorous, however, those who can love more than one person at a time, (yes, even romantically and sexually). There are many ways of Loving, and, Love being integral to Will, Thelema condemns _none_ of them. >^,,^<
93. Spot on! Very nice video! One thing which I don't recall you mentioning (and it's really nothing more than an interesting tidbit) is the fact the actual Liber is constructed using only monosyllabic words. "The OTO Plan in words of one syllable," as AC wrote to G. Yorke in '41. Also, where did you get the observation that OZ was 220 words long? What doesn't that count include?
@Hierophage I love this kinda stuff! Counting all words including the verse numbers '-al.2.42' as a word also. Also including 'OZ' but not Crowley's signature you get 220. This is why I call this sorta thing Kabollox :-) 93
Well this is not what I would call a good video. Sorry. I like your spirit and you are a skilled vlogger, but the content here misses quite a few marks. I frankly hope that your future work is better informed.
@thiebes I confess this was a rushed effort. I should have concentrated on the essence of Oz rather than dance around the subject. But this is beginners series for beginners not a series for people who have already found the light of Thelema. I'm no Lon Milo and I find making these videos quite difficult. But I could have done a better job your right 93s
@DeadBoyLife The strange thing about this being a beginner video is that you have actually obfuscated the message of Oz, which is remarkable given that Crowley's intent was that it be extremely easy to understand. But I didn't actually take issue with that, or the dancing around the subject, or that it seemed rushed (it actually didn't seem rushed at all). I am taking issue with the false things that you say. For example, distancing 666 and the Mark from the apocalypse is disingenuous.
@DeadBoyLife Thanks for that suggestion. It would be easier to have a conversation with you about the whole video and then you can do with it what you will. Do you use a chat client or anything? Skype? Send me a PM.
One of the things I love about Thelemites is how you guys (at least from the ones I've seen) take Crowley's works and use them for enriching your life (he was brilliant in many ways) and aren't afraid to admit that the man was a bit daffy. It shows maturity in my opinion to not say something like "Oh, he wasn't daffy, he was just... a little different. He's infallible!"
@Rorschached lol! Oh for sure! I'd hate to come across a group of Thelemites that treated Crowley like Christ...Jeez! Any path can bring you closer to deity so long as the individual takes what they have learned and makes it their own. Thelema is great because it acts like a mirror allowing you to work on yourself, to better yourself. 93s
To continue if you have "An" morrigan "the" morrigan the name breaks down to 6 in gemetria and when you put it in the sun the circle at the start of the sigil is in the eye of the crow."An" in Irish is "the" in old irish it meant "planet".I cant help thinking that crowley took the easy mysteries and gave the hard european ones to gardner.PS the welsh version of morrigan "morrigu" adds to 93.
@hartejoseph Wow this info is awesome! I'll have to investigate this further myself. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! Haha, well I suppose Crowley really layed down the foundations with Liber 777 so that others could come along and add their own correspondences to it. 93s
Make a video on it that would be interesting.Heres some random celtic Qabollox. If you take the celtic goddess morrigan and add her letters using the ogham alphabet 1 to 20 in its traditional order you get 111 a female celtic intelligence of the sun.If you match it to the sun square using the 1 to 20 instead of hebrew you get what suspiciously looks like a crow from the sigil
@hartejoseph Didn't want to have to attempt at explaining the magic squares too! But your totally right. I should have really explained the number a littler further. But if I was to fully explaining the mark of the beast I could make a whole video on it! 93s
'crowley was mental'... good stuff. +2 points for being honest enough to acknowledge the flaws along with the genius. my only uneasiness with liber oz comes from 'the slaves shall serve' quote, of which i must admittedly do more research to form a firm opinion one way or the other. i'd like to think he's referring to an individual's self-slavery to their own true will... but coming directly after the idea that it is justifiable to kill others, i rather doubt it.
@forkfullofpie yay +2 points! Your interpretation of that is interesting. I personally wouldn't associate verse 5 with ''the slaves shall serve''. It's my opinion that slaves simply refers to those individuals that are slaves to society, their insecurity & so on. Crowley wanted to liberate the universe with Thelema not create an upper-class that rules over slaves. If we are not ALL doing our wills then the universe will never be in harmony. Thanks for you comment :-) 93s
@forkfullofpie My take on the 'slaves shall serve' line has always been that it is about that internal battle between self mastery, and slavery to one's whims - those things which would deflect us from doing our Will.
An obvious, if rather flippant, example is the difference between being a nicotine addict, and someone who enjoys an occasional smoke at a party. The nicotine addict has enslaved himself to a demon , the social smoker is served by that demon.
Liber Oz is pretty important. I'm currently reading a tome that spends a good deal on Crowley and his work with Babalon -- it's called The Red Goddess. It's an amazing book, and that's saying a lot, coming from a Witch -- though I'm not of any branch of Wicca or Gardnerian or Alexandrian Craft.
Some of the initiates of my tradition -- called Feri -- have described it as "Thelemic" Witchcraft; we are involved in the Great Work of Knowledge and Conversation, as well.
@Oberyn Your the second person to recommending this book to me. I love babalon and do a lot of work with her so this book is a must buy, when I have the money that is! Isn't the term 'Feri' from Druid origin? I wish you & your coven success in your endeavours & fulfilment of your true wills 93s
@DeadBoyLife "Feri" is a word that our late Grandmaster, Victor Anderson, invented to refer to our tradition -- which has had many names. Alas, no coven yet, but maybe some day. "Who is this Flower above me, and what is the Work of this God? I would know myself in all my parts."
The line that "there is no god but man" reminds me of a tenent of Feri: "God is Self and Self is God and God is a person like myself."
Your videos are truly informative. This was a great, detailed breakdown of Liber Oz. Outstanding work.

As we all know well all religions propagate written rhetoric and then rely (hopefully) on a prospective follower finding said faith..if said religion can be trusted to stick to it's original doctrine, then most of us tolerant folk are happy for the potential for all faith systems to coexist peacefully.
leeboy2k1 9 months ago

The difficulty is that alot of these old cultures used base twenty counting five fingers five toes and arabs were suspicious of the number because it ment the physical world to them.
hartejoseph 1 year ago
Yeah apparently the celtic and the nordic people's used magic squares as well its a fairly common thing that turns up when you have an alphabet with a numerical value and aswell keep an eye on those cultures that play board games. Some have even sugest that pythagoras learn from the druids who knows because he did go to every mystery school that he could get into.

This was a great video. Definetly gonna look into Thelema more. It's got a nice moral system from what I've seen so far. A real eye opener. Seriously people will go watch The Omen or something and come to the conclusion that 666 has one meaning. They would never think to go...I dunno read a book about it's origins and multiple areas it pops up in and those meanings. haha.
Keep posting these awesome vids!

93.93/93.
Hierophage 1 year ago
@Hierophage I love this kinda stuff! Counting all words including the verse numbers '-al.2.42' as a word also. Also including 'OZ' but not Crowley's signature you get 220. This is why I call this sorta thing Kabollox :-) 93
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
Well this is not what I would call a good video. Sorry. I like your spirit and you are a skilled vlogger, but the content here misses quite a few marks. I frankly hope that your future work is better informed.
thiebes 1 year ago
@thiebes I confess this was a rushed effort. I should have concentrated on the essence of Oz rather than dance around the subject. But this is beginners series for beginners not a series for people who have already found the light of Thelema. I'm no Lon Milo and I find making these videos quite difficult. But I could have done a better job your right 93s
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
@DeadBoyLife The strange thing about this being a beginner video is that you have actually obfuscated the message of Oz, which is remarkable given that Crowley's intent was that it be extremely easy to understand. But I didn't actually take issue with that, or the dancing around the subject, or that it seemed rushed (it actually didn't seem rushed at all). I am taking issue with the false things that you say. For example, distancing 666 and the Mark from the apocalypse is disingenuous.
thiebes 1 year ago
@thiebes Well then perhaps you would like to write a short comment that I could include in the video as a note that would correct this error.
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
@DeadBoyLife Thanks for that suggestion. It would be easier to have a conversation with you about the whole video and then you can do with it what you will. Do you use a chat client or anything? Skype? Send me a PM.

One of the things I love about Thelemites is how you guys (at least from the ones I've seen) take Crowley's works and use them for enriching your life (he was brilliant in many ways) and aren't afraid to admit that the man was a bit daffy. It shows maturity in my opinion to not say something like "Oh, he wasn't daffy, he was just... a little different. He's infallible!"
Rorschached 1 year ago
@Rorschached lol! Oh for sure! I'd hate to come across a group of Thelemites that treated Crowley like Christ...Jeez! Any path can bring you closer to deity so long as the individual takes what they have learned and makes it their own. Thelema is great because it acts like a mirror allowing you to work on yourself, to better yourself. 93s
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
To continue if you have "An" morrigan "the" morrigan the name breaks down to 6 in gemetria and when you put it in the sun the circle at the start of the sigil is in the eye of the crow."An" in Irish is "the" in old irish it meant "planet".I cant help thinking that crowley took the easy mysteries and gave the hard european ones to gardner.PS the welsh version of morrigan "morrigu" adds to 93.
hartejoseph 1 year ago
@hartejoseph Wow this info is awesome! I'll have to investigate this further myself. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! Haha, well I suppose Crowley really layed down the foundations with Liber 777 so that others could come along and add their own correspondences to it. 93s
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
Make a video on it that would be interesting.Heres some random celtic Qabollox. If you take the celtic goddess morrigan and add her letters using the ogham alphabet 1 to 20 in its traditional order you get 111 a female celtic intelligence of the sun.If you match it to the sun square using the 1 to 20 instead of hebrew you get what suspiciously looks like a crow from the sigil
hartejoseph 1 year ago
And its the sun magic square which adds to 666 so it really is a solar philosophy
hartejoseph 1 year ago
@hartejoseph Didn't want to have to attempt at explaining the magic squares too! But your totally right. I should have really explained the number a littler further. But if I was to fully explaining the mark of the beast I could make a whole video on it! 93s
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
'crowley was mental'... good stuff. +2 points for being honest enough to acknowledge the flaws along with the genius. my only uneasiness with liber oz comes from 'the slaves shall serve' quote, of which i must admittedly do more research to form a firm opinion one way or the other. i'd like to think he's referring to an individual's self-slavery to their own true will... but coming directly after the idea that it is justifiable to kill others, i rather doubt it.
namaste,
lq
forkfullofpie 1 year ago
@forkfullofpie yay +2 points! Your interpretation of that is interesting. I personally wouldn't associate verse 5 with ''the slaves shall serve''. It's my opinion that slaves simply refers to those individuals that are slaves to society, their insecurity & so on. Crowley wanted to liberate the universe with Thelema not create an upper-class that rules over slaves. If we are not ALL doing our wills then the universe will never be in harmony. Thanks for you comment :-) 93s
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago

Oberyn 1 year ago
@Oberyn Your the second person to recommending this book to me. I love babalon and do a lot of work with her so this book is a must buy, when I have the money that is! Isn't the term 'Feri' from Druid origin? I wish you & your coven success in your endeavours & fulfilment of your true wills 93s
DeadBoyLife 1 year ago
@DeadBoyLife "Feri" is a word that our late Grandmaster, Victor Anderson, invented to refer to our tradition -- which has had many names. Alas, no coven yet, but maybe some day. "Who is this Flower above me, and what is the Work of this God? I would know myself in all my parts."
The line that "there is no god but man" reminds me of a tenent of Feri: "God is Self and Self is God and God is a person like myself."
