In my opinion paintball is over rated, its purely an adrenaline rush. Airsoft can be that, while not as much so. Airsoft is more tactically inclined and the tinkerers don't think of Airsoft as some 6 year-old game. the descent guns you get can be very hardcore. any one who likes paint ball will like Airsoft.

FPS isn't everything. Most stock TMs are in the 200-300 fps range, but they are accurate and sometimes painful. I own a TSD shotgun in my armory, and though its only 290 fps, it hurts more than a 450 fps AEG. Sometimes a spring doesn't go as much performance wise if used with some parts, but that doesn't mean it sucks either, because the more fps, the higher chance of wear and tear.
