I don't want to be your mentee and it is well known too that one will have to be responsible for one's actions. Singapore may impose punishment but none illegal or that endanger lives. The "brutality" as referred by you was caning but as mentioned in that site, the MALES wear protective clothing as far as possible to avoid permanent scars, cutting of skin or bleeding. The Armed Forces Council must approve before caning so that means the situation is assessed first before one is wrongfully caned.

Those that do not want to serve in NS should leave Singapore--you will be better for it for you will then be able to see what kind of place it is under the current police state that exists. Foreigners will take your jobs anyway should you decide to go NS, and the government promotes this.
