  • Cool!

  • Really good, im working on it myself, lot harder than i thought it was XD

  • I bow in humble admiration!!

  • Korg Triton LE, the same i have!! come see the video i've put on my channel about highway star solo , Jon Lord!!!

  • You have to work more with the legato in those fast passages. Nevertheless, it's great job. And to think that this video was taken some 4 years ago, you should have become better! :)

  • perfect

  • WOW, You are GOOOOOOOD!!! : )

  • WOW! You're good!

  • Awesome interpretation!!!

  • Do any of you people actually know anything about playing the keyboard? Just watch his fingers - what he's playing matches the audio. Why would the guy learn how to play the solo, and then mime to a MIDI file? And to all you idiots who think he sped it up, believe me - speed is not the hard part of playing things like this, the most difficult thing by far is the complexity of the hand and finger positioning. If you can play something slowly you can play it quickly - ask Mr Rudess himself.

  • @jhenylaw only if you build it up to that speed, but yeah you can tell it's not sped up, the movements are too smooth

  • where did you get this partiture???

  • GOOD JOB MEN.....

  • one of the most beautiful keyboard arrangements ever produced!!!!!!!!!!! WELL DONE MY FRIEND :)!!!!!!!!!!

  • tutorial pleaaaasseee :D :D :D

  • what keyboard do you used?

  • what type of korg is that???

  • killer

  • heeey nice video mand, really hope that you make more of this videos haha. ^^

Hey did you use sustain pedal in some part of the solo to sustain any nothe or not? Thanks for the tip xD

  • dude!! make a tutorial!!!

  • 1:25 asdf;uhasdfliygasdflbhkasdf

  • Awesome job, man. I've been working on this solo for a while now and I know how difficult it is. Did you use the transcribed music to learn this or are you playing by ear?

  • this was good until 1:43

  • I have the same keyboard :)

  • God damn dude, you effin' rock. My hat's off to you!

  • Wicked playing! What kind of keyboard is this and how much was it? I'm looking to buy my own...

  • It is so good, I am sad when it ends, replay You Tube!!!!

    So so good!

  • awesome job, good ear

  • brilliant

  • awsome,, u are an awsome player

  • wow ! nice one ! and if you use a sustain pedal to sustain the notes it will be perfect!

  • Mathew Timmerman uit Zevenaar?

  • Dude your insane. how long did it take you to learn this?

  • ive got same keyword, what sound is that?

  • Jordan Made a keyboarding book, it has Octavarium, Take the Time, In presents of enemies Pt. 1 and 2, Home, and a few others it has some really cool stuff in it

  • great job man

  • you used guitar pro , right? xd

  • WhooowW! This man is like Jordan Rudess Junior!

How old are you or how long have you been playing keyboards?

  • awesome! What effect did you use?

  • Just one mistake , but it's really amazing !!! 5 stars :p

  • congratulations!!!!

  • AWESOME, SIMPLY AWESOME!!!!!

  • Blijft leuk :)

  • WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

  • Hey ! you're cool man! i think your hand's shape also help keeping the speed up!

  • nice you had the track without the keyboard backing?

  • WOW!!!!!

  • muito bom!!!

  • HELL YEAH!!!!! Nice job...Jordan would be shaking in his boots if you tried out for DT!:-D

  • |o| !!!!!

  • Excellent! Very well played.

  • Thank you HobbleDHoy for you respond. I tried already to split the keyboard, but it gives me limited sound range. I mean that if I have my piano sound only on the right side of the keyboard than I do not have piano low sounds and vise versa with electronic sound on the left side. I hope you understand what I am talking about. But I really appreciate you advice. What instrument do you have? Not Triton Le right? Many thanks.

  • Sorry, saw that you learned it by just listen too it.

  • Hehe np, thanks for the kind comment.

  • Very good performance, fast in the fingers.

    How did you learned this?

  • this solo is in the note sheets of jordans book "Dream Theater Keyboard Experience Featuring Jordan Rudess"

You can buy it everywhere :D

I've got a signed book my self :D

Octavarium, blind faith, home etc, with all the solos of course! :)

  • Awesome!

    You're great.

  • Guys, I need help!!! When I use piano sound and want to switch to another sound without losing the last piano note(chord) what should I press? I have Triton Le 76. Often when I switch sound I lose piano last note and it makes a break between switching. How to avoid it?

    Many thanks ahead.

  • Splitting is an option, but then you are rather limited in both the piano and the synth lead. I think wouldn't split it, and I wouldn't play the piano notes on the "-ning" from "happening".

But you could also play full range piano first.

Then the next Combi has high piano range and the lower synth lead range.

And then, after a few more bars, you switch to a full range synth lead.

  • @prostojazz Buy yourself a nice Kurzweil PC3X, they have developed a technology that allowes you to hold a note with a sound even when you change sounds! check it out! :D

  • do you think you could tell me the fingerings for the descent at 0:18?

  • very impressive..... where did you get the music for it?

  • I bought the album.

    :P

  • First time I heard this solo on the album I was fucking stunned! In my opinion the best keyboard solo ever. And btw very well played.

  • what type of keyboard are you using?

  • awsome good good skills too keep up the good work man 5+++++

  • It has been one of my dreams to play this song!

  • I've heard that Jordan Rudess started to teach in the Music School of Wizardry. I am sure that in that school you have to speak in ancient english, so my conclusion is that you have great magical capabilities that we (ordinary heretics) don't have (and therefor you are a student there).

Please show us the true way of playing the wonderful instruments we have at home, Holy One!

  • LOL

  • Thanks my son! We speak Pidgin Ancient English, to be precisely.

By gawd, look at all those thumbs up. Looks like we have an upcoming Dark Master.

  • i dont play keyboard but nice!!!! :P

  • how much time did it take before you could play it like this?

  • Several weeks. Then a break. Then another several weeks.

  • respect

  • amazing, one of the best and most diverse keyboard solos ever!!!

  • wenisimo!

  • Next week i want to see a video of you playing this solo.

  • uhmmm STfu u cant play keyboaRd?

  • Post a video then, tough guy?

  • Me?

I said sorry just because I asked how he learned it, I saw how he lerned it in the box too the right now, that's why i said sorry.

Still agree that he is fast in the fingers and that the performance is very good.

  • Wtf? I replied to that:

"that's nothin'. i could do it in my sleep."

  • Ok^^

  • of what?

  • Nvm.. I know you we're obviously trolling. Nvm..

  • bro, i would also love to talk to you on msn or actually if you could just tell me some of the scales your using, and how to use scales during soloing, that would make me feel awesome, ahhah

  • Heh, I don't know how to explain that in English, but this solo often uses the E scale and the B minor scale, as well as the C# minor scale along with... C hypolydian?

And how to use it during soloing is just a matter of puzzling. Hard to explain. :P

  • O.O

    that fucking ruled!!!

Dude, the lesson!!!! I NEED IT!!

    =P

I've only played for less than a year, though I play guitar for a long time. Well, whatever, I want to learn this T.T never tried fast stuff, I'm surprised it's coming pretty clean so far =S

But then: the arpeggios... gotta practice them!

hmmm so, great keyboard player, can speak in ancient english, uses smilies and seems a really nice person to chat with... any chance you would admit me on MSN? XD

  • Cool. Freakin' awesome!

  • why is this like... hypnotizing.. wtf! ahhh it sounds sooo coool. lol i jizzed

  • I am trying to nail this solo, but this just made me fell worse about myself hah xD

  • Very nicely done. Probably the best i've seen besides Jordan actually doing it. Grats!

  • I came

  • Damn... You gave me goosebumps =)

  • WOAH nice!

  • dude... beastly

  • damn man with that skill you should buy the korg oasys bro but it's fucking expensive !

  • its so fucking perfect!

  • OK so let me ask you this:

Are you god or are you god?

  • He's either God or God's brother.

  • Jordan is god!

    this guy is his prophet

  • You sir, have skill

  • How long it it take you to nail this down? This is sick!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LONG LIVE DREAM THEATER!!!!!

  • YOU ROCK

  • I was looking for Triton LE Demo's and came across this - Nicely Done!

Can anyone tell me the name of that song? Please send me a message :)

  • octavarium, the band is dream theater

  • the name of the song is octavarium, from dream theater. its 24 minutes long by the way

  • That's insanely awesome, hearing it with that specific voice made me realize how Genesis-esque the solo is

  • nice, but Jordan do it with only a hand! XD

  • he gets his other hand in there for a couple of notes...watch score

  • naah...ive seen the video...jordan does include his other hand as well...

  • man, dream theater's stuff took so much musicianship to write, and technique to play. is this jordan guy you're talking about the keyboardist in dream theater?

  • yup...one of the best there is....check out the liquid tensoin experiments 1,2...if u liked DT's music, then ull love these....has almost the same lineup as DT(except f bassist)...n jordan lets loose his fury on the keys

  • cool. i always liked acid rain. didn't know liquid tension had the same people as DT though.

  • What kinda keyboard sound is he using???

  • KORG Triton le

I have exactly the same standing behind me. :D

  • great. really great. :)

  • Weehoo! Thank you and welcome to YouTube!

P.s. I don't rule big time. I only rule once an hour, at max.
