This is def. '97. Not sure which game, but the original horn and CoreStates Center name are the clues you need here. When the name changed to the First Union Center in 1998, they dumped this horn.
God Brind'Amour will be missed... Rod, thanks for 21 terrific seasons. loved watching you play every game like it was your first and last. Good luck with your new position in the Canes org.
Its a shame really, all Brind'Amour ever did was score and work hard and Clarke got rid of him, and what did he do, lead the Hurricanes to the Cup and win it, lol.. Go Rod!
@SouthP17CD yeah, it had a little to do with lindros, i know some say it's just a rumor but i believe he had a large say in getting roddy put out of town
@SouthP17CD No shame there, for the Caniacs! #17 was raised up to the rafters on Friday night prior to a game against the Flyers. #17 is retired forever. He did us all proud down here in Raleigh.
One of the all-time great guys and great players in league history

Also Lemieux's last game before 1st retirement; ever think about putting that in?

I remember this game like it was yesterday.

Hall of Famers On Ice: For Pens- Jagre, Francis & Super Mario. For Flyers: Coffey, Brindy. Not a bad shift.

Loved the Flyers in the 90`s with Rod!
Agree with the comment about Clarke trading him after all he did for the Flyers. Bad trade!
Great to see his number retired with Canes. Class act!

They scored right at the end of the video!

This was the night "Roddy Two times" became my favorite player.

Rod is built like a brick shithouse. My father worked with his dad at elk falls paper mill in campbell river. decent man

I was at the game - the place was going nuts and Rod's goals completely changed the momentum of the game.
As for why he got traded, well the word is that there was a personal issue between him and Lindros. Who, at the time, was the teams #1 priority.

Damn I miss Brind'Amour being a Flyer. There was NO reason to get rid of him. Primeau was ok, but he was no Brind'Amour.

I saw this game live. Awesome. Brind'Amour was the hardest working player ever. I wish he was still a Flyer.
