  • how did you make this in 5 minutes and in blender of all things?

what is your educational background? i wish to have this skill...

  • your knees will hit your armpits

  • where do your hands go?

  • perfect if you ride on an immaculate surface

  • I think it's backwards

  • This is so fucking awesome

  • have two of them connected where you ride in the middle, to turn you have one walk faster than the other one/go in reverse.

  • How do you turn?

  • its like a headless mechanical zombie llama!

  • i don't think it would balance

  • turn left, turn right, you didn't think about that do ya?

  • how would you turn?

  • im mad that i watchd this.

  • Here's a mountain bike idea: learn a few tips from world champions at the BIKESKILLS Channel on YouTube. Then subscribe and enter to win a FREE FOX fork!

  • 5 minute sketch? Wow. That is more impressive than the machine itself. I am trying to sketch a model myself, but using Autodesk Inventor pro. I am still learning how to use the software, but it would be faster to build it out of steel! That took a week, to make a functional model.

  • I do not think you could cross any of the redbull rampage with this new invention....just saying...lol

  • Comment removed

  • @ismokewead420 So? It can go backwards? It clearly STOPS, then starts going again backwards, so it's demonstrating that it can go two ways. How's that a fail?

  • wtf wiv thise shit, you fucking nerd.

  • how do you turn?

and how much would that weigh?

  • nice, how to turn with the thingie`?

  • Are you singing?!

  • buen mecanismo, pero mala aplicacion!

  • i would buy one.

  • I feel high...

  • looks like a Llama

  • cool now i can ride a cow bike

  • How do you make turns>??

  • anyone else imagining riding the thing.... just before a leg locks up on you

  • The machine is fascinating. The music is absolutely horrible.

  • I like you a lot...especially with the song writing and staff but...knowing that this is very quickly designed,i just wanted to stress out that it would be impossible to get the shown circular motion of the pedals from rest going..it needs a primary external push...steering can be done by different speeds of the two sides..=p

  • i wish the wheel wasnt evented xD

  • This would be great for people that have arms twice the length of their legs, stupid, and only need to travel in a straight path really god damn slow.

  • Man this would be one fuck slow bike,

  • pedal backwards with one foot and forward with the other, assuming it doesnt fall over- theres your steering. should check out how tanks turn eh.

  • lolzz this sucks u cant turn it LMAO

  • Imagine an alternate reality where things were over invented.

  • It's not a bicycle if it doesn't have wheels.

  • The problem is that there are times when one or two of the feet aren't touching the ground... this will be a very wobbly ride unless you make this eight legged, basically you could take two of the machines and place them side by side and join them as one and sync their leg cycles together.

  • Very cool

To see more innovative videos like this visit ThinkStageDOTcom

  • COol design but how would the pedal returning on its upward stroke manage without being counteracted by the other sides crank??! would love to see this bike actually built

  • The "Change the World" song made me go out and strangle a homeless man.

  • id still do wheelies with it!

  • needs gears

  • lets see that thing turn a corner.

  • The whole point of the 'wheel' is that it conserves angular momentum, therefore you use less energy to travel. This imulates walking which conserves no energy/momentum and hence is pointless except for looking cool

  • if this is what we would have if we didnt have the wheel then i say i wish the wheel wasnt made

  • looks like megatron.

  • That's the fuckest baloney shit I've ever seen.

  • With many moving pivots, it will have many natural resistance, will require higher torque to pedal, little or no momentum thrust generated and thereby not much efficient than the circular wheel. Just a visual comment.

  • @Quicksilvers888 unless u add very efficient bearings in each joint of the bicycle.. i dare someone to try and build one.. and modify it to perfection!!! :D

  • @coronapounder Even with frictionless bearings, there is no forward momentum, unlike the flywheel effect of the bike wheels, which make pedaling as difficult as the first push to the second push and so on and so forth. Human power might be difficult. But if you will introduce a transmission attached to a rotational engine, this is a good sand or mud walking machine in unknown sandy Mars territory.

  • all i have to say is wow !!!!!!!!!!!

i do apreciate engeniering stuff like this one than you

  • Great! But how would you turn?

  • love the stupid music!

  • if this was our reality, i would be a lube-salesman

  • cool vid + song

  • BUILD IT OR SHUTUP

  • the wheel was invented

and its doing the moon walk

  • Anyone else notice its walking backwards in the animation...

  • @jariroth you obviously didn't notice that the second half of the video is the first half in reverse. but good try and thanks for playing.

  • Your singing makes me angry...

  • What's this weird music?

  • An excellent well thought out solution for a non existent problem.

  • @ajuk1 I was actually thinking of something to ride at Burning Man that would tolerate soft sand. I have a much less complicated robot mechanism for Mars landers and such that bears weight as efficiently as a wheel. But this one looks cooler, which is more fun!

  • @themanyone thers alot of potential for this concept

  • And move at walking speed.. I see this product going nowere

  • its an interesting idea. wouldnt it break down alot though, because like, so many moving parts!

  • I notice that the handlebars are moving, as the person hosting the bike you would probably prefer them to be fixed. So I think an easy improvement would be for you to attach the handlebars to the fixed base of the bike where the seat is attached to.

  • namkol.com

    namkol.tk

    :))

  • This is innovation because?

  • Yeah I'd look so damn cool riding on my new "Wheel-less Bicycle"

  • haha that song

  • How does it turn? Lol

  • hahaha this link principle is based on a rotation on the center, maybe a shaft?? that is a circular invention!.......

  • whats with the song?? .....well cant complain, at least its better than rebecca black

  • do want

  • if you never invented the wheel, then why have a crank as a drive mechanism? you wouldn't have thought that up if you hadn't thought up the wheel...continuity error.

  • how to turn????

  • LOL! why have four pivots like a common bicycle when you can have a thousand.

  • walking would be easier

  • Theo Jansen's work is truly inspirational.

A group of students has built a Seqway using Jansen's leg mechanism.

Google for 'Cajun Crawler Exhibition 08' or, 'Theo Jansen Segway'.

  • Lets forget realism here. It is just anyhow a very cool video :-)

  • Interesting idea, but the bicycle remains upright due to the gyroscopic effect of the spinning wheels. It's why the turn of the century versions had such large wheels in the first place. Also, how would you control this legged version? Our human legs use at least two pivots to control cornering while maintaining balance. How would you incorporate that into this design?

  • You took this from the guy who invented the new walking creatures and displayed them on T.E.D.... didn't you???

  • Neat.. I mean neat idea. I'm thinking it could only walk back and forth in a strait line. But neat

  • Imagine... an alternate reality where the axle had been invented bu the wheel had not. In this strange parallel world, our ancestors would have starved to death of total stupidity.

  • song?

  • thyis is a funny video

  • how you want to drive this machine? and terrain?

  • Creepy lookin bike O.o

  • it hase whell based parts sutch as the barings and the pedals

  • look like it would cost 12x a normal bike

  • ever heard about walking?

  • with out the wheel u couldnt make this it runs on a cam wheel system

  • so how do you turn right and lefth

  • someone build a prototype of this

  • it would be easier to just walk

  • I have no intention of criticizing your invention. But what SILLY music!! ARE YOUR THE SINGER??? JA JA JA JA!!!!!!

  • I have no intention of criticizing your invention. But what SILLY music!! ARE YOUB THE SINGER??? JA JA JA JA!!!!!!

  • @carib0055 Interesting...you managed to miss the "H" key not once, but four times when attempting to type "ha ha ha ha". Assuming of course you were trying to laugh.

  • @SkInHoUnD Yes; In spanish we write (ha ha) with letter J (ja ja ja) thats means laugh in spanish but I learning english

  • @carib0055 Does that mean in Spanish instead of saying "ha ha" you say "ja ja"....I would expect you get some pretty weird looks if you go around actually saying jaja.

When people laugh, they more often than not make an "h" sound...

  • @SkInHoUnD yeah, and the Spanish "j" makes and English "h" sound, dumbass.

  • @hazelioness Well let me formally welcome you to the white English mans world.

Learn the queens English, or sell your tacos on your third world beaches and jaja all fucking day long.

  • @SkInHoUnD Welcome to the REAL world, where cultural and linguistic ignorance gets you nowhere.

  • @hazelioness You're right...you really do look like an ignorant cunt.

  • @SkInHoUnD You, sir, are a true genius. The way you took that comment and twisted it back at me was incredibly inspirational. I have taken notes, and will now devote my time to spreading word of the "I know you are but what am I?" phenomenon. Consider yourself a true pioneer. Consider me IMPRESSED.

  • @hazelioness Who are you again?

  • that would be the most uncomfortable thing, arm movement would tire out the user too fast. and the pedals are too close to the seat, you get a c+

an A for effort and building the model the C+is for the design and for not improving the original concept

  • This is completly stupid. If the wheel was never invented then how would they articulate all those parts together? And what's that in the red main frame of the "bike" where the legs hold the frame? Weren't they supposed to be ball bearings or something? Aren't ball bearings similar to wheels?? STUPID

  • @SKarmytech yah dude i totaly agree with u i mean Legs realy? ... iam a BMX bike rider and well u cant fucking coast with legs it would be like a lame fixie nonestop work and wut if u go down hill? your screwd... also u cant aviod curbs with that, like a normal bike can u would jus face plant ... id just bunny hoop over the damn thing.

  • Work out the steering, find somebody who can weld... Got yourself a project for the next Burning Man. :D

  • Steer much?

  • @Zblj1987 Gay faggots who say much at the end of a one word comment no one give two shits about much?

  • @Zblj1987 well, I guess the same idea as tank treads would apply for steering. jut pedal one side more than the other, but it would be horribly inefficient

  • give the website. it is hard to hear where your site is.

  • build it man!

  • try backflip on this!

  • uuhhhh, best song ever.

  • See 'Theo Jansen: The art of creating creatures'. Theo makes machines that crawl along the beach using wind power; they are amazing!

  • are you fucking KIDDING me hahaha

  • that would take much more force and would be slower than walking.

  • See watch?v=a7Ny5BYc-Fs for a real one.

  • music WTF???!!!

  • wtf is with the weird song ? trying to brainwash us ?

  • thats 2:45 of my life gone

  • gay

  • lol this "new" invetions are worst than the old ones ! like a gasoline ( 4 stroke ) car engine goes through (#1 intake #2 compression #3 power #4 exhaust ) four steps just to use one !!!!!!!! (#3 power)

this bike/monster/who the fuck knows thing > moves so many parts and requires (looks like ) so much pushing just to go one step forward hahahahaha

  • @amigos1996 this thing would easily coast along a road or something. Thing is, legs are better than wheels because they are much more versatile in terrain. Pedalling this thing up a flight of stairs wouldn't be much harder than walking up it, whereas on a normal bike it's impossible lol

  • @pipmdirector well thats when you get off the bike and just walk up stairs !!

  • @amigos1996 lol true

but think of it as the ultimate mountain bike

  • @pipmdirector lo why not right .

  • @pipmdirector I can only imagine you're joking..

  • @Saucelier good :L

  • @amigos1996 Actually it's a ride-able concept of something that's been built which can walk on its own down an incline or with a wind sail.

  • ummm, how the fuck does it turn?

  • hand holds should probably be attached to the main axis. or else that would result to huge shoulder pains

  • and wouldent it be simpler to umm walk but none the less great

  • commenting on the coment by jimjob28 looks like there was hand holds dont know hy those were there but im sure they help

  • still using cylindrical objects... stems from wheel.

  • This isn't actually wheelless, gears and bearing are advanced wheels!

  • I wonder ... where's the brake?

    LOL

  • how do you turn?

  • @froyboy4life you squeeze the brake ... put yourself in the front on one side and you drifting ... ah ... but where's the brake?

  • look like you be riding a pedal powered horse

  • The Joints are mini wheels so ... Sorry. Looks like a Tennessee walking horse. Ya

  • that looks like it would be uncomfortable as hell

  • This machine would do well at the beach boardwalk. Chick magnet ?

  • i think a wheel would be easier.

  • would be cool to see someone build this, i think a lot of arm movement would help propel it too alto i see no way to steer it.

  • I'll stick with my bike. Kthx. What useless contraption, if I wanted to make a machine to translate walking into... walking. I'd just use my own two legs.

  • Holy Shit it looks like the Devils Push bike!

  • yea try making that in real life...

  • This is legs convertor xD 2 legs to 4 legs. This maybe be useful for robots. btw can u create 2 - 6 legs converter?

  • How many times have you been hit in the head?

  • Might as well walk.

  • What is this song? It's amazzzing!

  • looks very inefficient way to get around

  • @turbopallinaama "you would need more legs to keep it in balance."

Go buy a little bipedal, wind up mechanical toy. Set it going. Pay attention.

  • That's a lot of joints to keep lubed up. lol

  • @themanyone "Heinlein . . . could have been a friend of Hubbard."

They were friends. It is an urban legend that Hubbard invented Scientology and Heinlein wrote Stranger in a Strange Land as part of a bet between them, to invent a successful religion. There's no hard supporting evidence, so it may not be true. It's almost certain that they discussed it though, and Heinlein may even have contributed ideas to Dianetics.

  • Just one question - WHY?

  • @tirimut for fun. If people wouldn't make things like that, we wouldn't have cars, air planes etc...

  • ...Can you put the song up somewhere?

  • the only problem is YOU CANT TURN. This is the problem ive come accross time and time again when working theo jensens walking machines. absolutely briliant. but stinks motion is limited to 2 directions

  • @V8block8 Actually the joints DO work this way, Théo Hansen made wind powered mechanical structures that did this very thing. The artist just used that model to make a "Bicycle" out've it.

  • @Blazinwolf2006 nice, it moves, now how does it steers?

  • Love the song... also a big Blender User... very cool...

  • now try there to pedal once, i bet that thing will height like a motorcycle, and another thing, whats up with direction? and last, this wont work on real life, all those joints will not react the way this animation is moving them, so i dont think this is useful at all

  • @V8block8 if you think that is made of iron that surely will weight like a motorcycle but if we try to build it with aluminium or another lighter metal that defenitely will be more easy to drive. I actually made a model of it and it seems to work.

  • @comegatofreak it still doesnt have a logical mechanical way of steering

  • @V8block8 yes, I know, but the animation is very basic so we have to work with a real model, as I told you before we can`t make any conclution based on this animation. and I agree with you, it seems to be a really dificult to drive, but do you know what is also very dificult? try to elevate tons of steel with a lot of people inside, and there you have the boing 747 for example. it doesn`t worth to waste time in easy things.

  • @comegatofreak well true the animation is very basic, but the example about the boeing isnt difficult,, if you make your physics right its pretty simple, you need to calculate acceleration you need to lift the weight, and there you go, if you got the concept of a cessna you just make it in large scale and thats it. even if that bike worked, whats the advantage over the normal one, and you cant BMX with it.

  • Yeah this wouldnt work at all.

  • Make It!

  • nubmer one thing worng about this u cant do trick on it like a bmx

  • im pigturing myself on this thing , getting to a downhill road, and close my eyes and not move my legs, and wait for gravity to do its work

but then realize im standing there like an idiot on a metal horse.

  • very cool, but you cant steer it !

  • : )

  • you should get someone with a metal shop to build one with you, I know if I had a metal shop I would help, it looks really cool
