Marbled Salamander, very neat. I filmed one awhile back before I started my channel and I only filmed for about 30 seconds for a skate montage. Im pretty upset about that, maybe I can find another. That was my first one though. Love the intro to the video by the way.
Your knowledge of 'herps' seems to be commendable however, I would advise that when you pick up salamanders, you moisten your hands first as the oils in you skin can remove the lubricants in their skin they depend on for survival. Indeed, handling these animals with dry hands can kill them as you should know and I hope you take this information with you the next time you are "in the field". Good video BTW and good luck in the future.
how about now. I am shooting for larvae. Have you ever heard of paola kansas or louisburg kansas? you might drive near it when going back to colorado. It is located south of louisburg and it is almost completely forested with a large creek and several smaller ones. I have searched for salamanders before But have found nothing.
dude, your awesome. and that kid of yourse has a gift lol, i wish i could find at least one snake in wisconsin but you never find em up here and when youu do all you find is garter and green snakes, it sucks lol
Contiued..... A Bunch Of Sallies, And Brown Snakes, But I Think Thy'd Be A Good Idea. The Massuaga Rattlesnake (A.K.A.) The Swamp Rattlesnake. U'll Be The 1st One On Youtube To Herp The Most Venomus Rattlesnake (It Just Usually Enject Small Doce Of Venom So It's Not THat Fal and Its A Secretive Snake.
Hey, Smetlogik Imma New Herper (If u will call it that). I Mostly Herp For Snakes, And I Recived A Bounch Of Tips From CHP(Chicago Herpetolgy Society) At an Meeting. So I Have A Small But Semi Big Background On Herping. So Would Say You Should Go To Northern Illinois, Like The Conty I Live in (Cook), And Try To Herp A Massuaga Rattle Snake. That's What Im Going For. Its Hard, But It'll Be Awesome. Just A Suggestion. There Not Out Yet, Only Things Out Are Garter(Occasionly On Warm Days).
It would have been really funny if you would have found a dead body under that log..Im not right in the head..lol..True...herping is hard work but well worth it in the end. I live in Illinois..kool.
