anyone else think this song is a bit of an enigma among levellers songs? Im not saying I dont like it, its a cool song, but its not the sort of thing you'd expect to find on a levs album
This song's an amazing achievement for the Levellers... It's a very good pop-ish love song, but still being recognisably Levellers, unlike the kind of slightly disappointing stuff on Hello Pig
Personally I think Hello Pig is one of my favourite Levellers albums, I know it was a bit of a departure but like Mark said, they just wanted to make a 'good old-fashioned drug record'. Guess it depends on how wasted you are when you listen to it ^.^
@chocomog35 I agree that Hello Pig has some charms. My feelings at the moment are that, had this song been on it, the album would have been much better.
A love song from the greatest band of all time! This is a fucking tune tho'....still unsure about who wrote the lyrics tho', Mark reckons Jez wrote all the lyrics to the album yet Jez in an interview says he had little to do with the writing....o.O
I saw an interview with Jez where he said he wrote all the lyrics and sent the band off to write the music. Maybe that's what he meant by not having much to do with the "writing"?
I absolutely love the new album and this is an excellent song but the video doesn't do it any justice at all. They really should have focused on themselves. But who cares, their music is still as amazing as ever and that's what matters!! Happy 20th anniversary guys, I can't wait for the next 20! You still do it for me!xxx
A little different to usual material but still every bit as good, great to have a new album to get stuck into. Keep going forever and ever!! Love the Levellers.
It's one of my favorite songs on the album and they are one of my favorite bands of all time, have been for many years but personally i'm not too impressed with the vid. They could have done so much more with the video, it's far too tame.this song deserves a mind-blowing video to go along with it.There isn't enough of the band in the video. the last few videos they've put out have either been them in a live situation, or animated,
If you look back to the kind of videos they used to put out, dog train, fantasy, Hope Street, Just The One...etc,etc,etc they were amazing and they focused mainly on the band. This video would be much better if there was more of the band in it rather than a blast of them right at the end, that's when it got interesting.
its fab u guys have still got it after all these years hopin to see you again at ironworks.. best band ever to see live we went to see them at forres north scotland many years ago and we actually broke the floor slats at the front of a very small stage it had to be covered up so as not to cause anyone any injuries lmao sum nite have seen them so many times they never fail to amaze 5stars from us
its sound keep it up levs

@PeteJones100 None of the Hello Pig is what I'd call "Levellers"
Initially, you'd think this wasn't "Levellers" but despite its context, it really is, I believe.
And what a catchy riff...

@PeteJones100 it is exactly what i expected from the levs ..love..that is what they are about, simple as that.

Levellers' first love song.
Initially I was like "Yeah, it's all right". Like any good song, it grew on me. Now I absolutely love it.
They should do more songs with banjo in them. Forgotten Ground is the only really banjo-ey one (awsom, btw).
:D

Levellers,
seit 1994 bin ich Fan Eurer Spielweise...
Und jedesmal gibt's Neues und Unerwartetes und doch Bekanntes und Vertrautes in Eurer Musik, sodass es niemals langweilig wird, Euch zuzuhoeren...
Please keep on playing, SixOnpc
