  • @robinhorulz56 WTF are you talking about? This is an amazing beat.

  • @SargentMugen It doesn't suit their flow

  • @robinhorulz56

    man you are insane

  • Nas fuckin tore this track apart

  • This is back when u listened to music for the words not tha beat . This still go hard. Brings me back to 9th grade.. Ahhhhh ...memories!!!

  • Honestly, one of the best rap songs ever recorded.

  • @ThomasJArmitage yeah man for real, keep your eyeez open and yo wallet in your front pocket. WU4EVER

  • @ThomasJArmitage If it had a good beat it'd be even better.

  • I feel as if this song is really underrated.

  • on the real though even if people dont listen to music for the lyrics. rap music got some of the best beats

  • for real nas killed this joint. this beat is ridiculous. ny all day

  • i was high when i first heard this. thank god i was able to understand how nice these niggas are at rhyming

  • Smack him in his cabbage!!! Lol

  • best hip hop song of all time.

  • That Nas verse is the greatest I've ever heard. No wonder he was the only non-Wu member on this joint

  • @WillMorebucks shut the fuck up

  • @minikimboc Haha what? All that dude said basically was he really liked Nas's verse. That "shut the fuck up" seemed unnecessary. Cardiel would not approve!

  • Ghost said it best

ME,NAS, AND RAE GOT THE BEST PRODUCT ON THE BLOCK.

hE AIN'T LYIN. AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, THEY STILL DOING IT WITHOUT THE LIGHTS, CAMERAS AND BULLSHIT

  • This album is what influenced It Was Written, Life After Death and Reasonable Doubt. Have to give props to Rae but Nas ate this beat.

  • Now that's what i call rap.

  • Nas's collab album and his own album next year will be dope.

  • WOW Nas would fit in Wutang perfectly..

  • Nas killed this joint!!!! Classic!

  • The best lyrics in anysong ever recorded...NaS' verse is disgusting

  • 21 are young money fags...

  • HIGHSCHOOL SHIT : 1999 !!!!! PLEASE REWIND TIME.

  • there is actually an extra verse by Nas but it was not recorded....that is fact.

  • Only verse to compete with Rebel INS triumph verse is Nas' verse on this

  • Nas completed this track

  • raekwon and nas grimmyst combo

  • one of my fav beatz of all tyme, NaS' voice fitz perfect on this!!

  • RIP TO REAL GANGSTER HIP HOP

  • One of the greatest openings for a track ever, in my opinion. Nas, baby!

  • @daleva ur fucking retarded.

  • i took some time away from nas and wu and the whole ny sound for a min n went underground, and to be real from some of the emcee's i met n heard n collabed in da lab with these dudes iz jis averege, ok well nas is above average no doubt but wu and rae n especially ghost iz weak hahaha it's all about drug smuggling and fishscales n a whole lotta ny slang u cant undrstand haha wats tha point? even one of my producers dude frm tha bronx aint really feelin wu n rza a cool dude but evrythg jis avrge

  • @daleva187goligo Please name these underground kats you speak of. I really want to know the names of the dudes who can make an album better than illmatic, it was written, godson, Only built for cuban linx 1 and 2, Supreme Cliente, and fishscale. Please enlighten me.

  • @daleva187goligo lol fuck off you clown

  • @daleva187goligo Cool story bro

  • completely overrated and overhyped, hate to burst yall bubble hahaha.... shit i been in da game 4 a min n dis aint really nuthin special, it's decent, dont get me wrong it's pretty gud but come on yall g.o.a.t song/verses of all time? haha now i aint hatin i'm jis sayin... i talked to rza b4 and we covered a whole lotta shit in that convo, and nas i used to be his #1 one fan but for me after so many records and listenin to alotta undrgrnd shit this aint really nuthin i havent heard a mil times

  • @daleva187goligo Cocaine is a hell of drug....apparently it has ruined your brain. Please listen to any rap song released after 2001...and then come back here. Seen?

  • @Bigrog1988 man STFU hip hop is still in full effect the real shit is STILL out there you just aint looking hard enough

  • @Bigrog1988 You should dig underground.

  • wait what was that about pac? ghost dissin? at 2:08

  • @daleva187goligo this is a great song, this to me is one of nas's most powerful verses, and ghost is not dissin pac on this track. He's sayin' that walking around with alot of money is dangerous. and people with alot of money get killed. Tupac is in the afterlife, thats where ghost doesn't want to see him.

  • @Hazardous774 thats not exactly correct. pac was in jail during that time. ghost is sayin i dont wanna go 2 prison

  • @rakimkoolgrapwutang you are correct this dropped in '95, my bad. i'm not that big a wu fan which would explain why i ain't know the drop date. thanks for clarifying.

  • 1. Nas

    2. Raekwon

    3. Ghost

But Ghost's verse is still way better than 99% of all the other "rap" out there.

One of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time. And it's a damn shame that this only has 300k views in 3 years SMH

  • would of been nice to see inspectah deck on this too....always spits a classic verse...nas killed this, but ghost and rae still straight fire

  • Nah Ghost gets this one, Nas recycled his verse too much.

  • @thehiphophead1994 He recycled this verse once and he killed it regardless

  • @thehiphophead1994 This is possibly the greatest nas verse you outta your mind.

  • @Kryptsanies Im not saying his verse was wack, its amazing, but ghost's verse was better

  • This album is amazing, and this is probably my favourite track from it. Epitomises everything that was great about hip hop from this era! Much as I love Wu, I don't think they ever reached this greatness again...

  • Raekwon gettin no respect on the top comments...smh

  • of course nas got the best verse on this song this the greatest verse ever IMO... ins deck on triumph was crazy too but this takes the cake to me

  • This and 2nd verse of "Get Down" are the best I've ever heard Nas rap.

  • Nas is the rawest on the mic...Believe it or not.

  • sounds like RZA made this beat too

  • @justis2496 actually rza produced the entire album.

  • Back in '95 it really seemed like the cycle of quality would never end. Cuban Linx is one of the best cuts the Wu will ever produce!!!

  • by the way young blood hit me off with that greenbay hat

  • the intros boring... otherwise incredible

  • nas' verse is the greatest verse ever its only right considering hes the GOAT top 5 album all time too!!

  • Nas made Rae and Ghost sound like Soulja Boy and Gucci .

  • MY FAVORITE SONG

  • Comment removed

  • KWON=the shit

  • Yesterday I was listening to this song full blast, and I had to take out one ear phone to bring me back to reality, song is unreal, I loved nas's verse of Deja Vu, but plus this beat and the Chef makes the track great.

  • MUSICAL MASTERPIECE !!!

  • Fuuuck, I am now just freshly 31, son and I have to testify that this Nas opening is worth more than any very ever...on any hip-hop/rap song EVER. And dem Godz Raekwon and Ghost ain't no slackaz either, son. "Don't keep jackin' my lap, don't wanna see 2pac". Big Chef hated 2pac but they kept their distance. Shit's real lil catzz.

  • greatest callabaration of all time .....SIMPLE !!!

  • Nas spit this verse on his demo tape but it sounds 100x better over this beat. It sounds perfect actually.

  • This song will never not be hot

  • NAS always beam n' killed the verse....well I think they all did.

  • I lived through this era. it's because of music like this, most of everything nowadays sounds corny & cheesy. Rae & Ghost, one of the best hip-hop duos. Nas top5.

  • @UCzDWELLA201,goodlookn on that info,i gotta check that out asap

  • Nas always stands out on collabo

  • Another sick song that just puts Wu on a whole other planet. Nas on this track is Icing on the cake.

  • OB4CL is the best solo project from any Wu member

    Nas and Ghost were crazy

    but Rae murdered it

    Classic !!

  • @MrAllex4ndre its tough to call with Liquid Swordz

  • @Kryptsanies Yeah i agree with you overall every first album from Wu members is a classic

    but OB4CL is my favorite

  • Why did ghost say don't wanna see tupac...

  • @1phreshprince1 he was saying that because at time 2pac was in jail. So he didn't want to get caught with drugs ("Thusands of cracks bagged up inside the shoebox") by cops and have to go to jail ("Don't keep jack in my lab").

  • @1phreshprince1 no beef shit dnt worry wu tang and 2pac were actually pretty close, tupac was goin to sign them, i think redman and a few others to his upcoming record label before his demise mayb it was mop i cant remember gotta look it up real fast

  • nas was rippin 1995

  • RZA is a fkn genius...

  • RZA is a fkn genius...

  • It is funny that the Nas verse is recycled from an unreleased song he did. Still amazing song. All three are fantastic emcees.

  • @AQGOAT24 That just shows that nas was ahead of his time...if in fact that unreleased track came out before nas dropped illmatic ......

  • NAS HAD ONE OF THE BEST VERSES EVER ON THIS SONG OF ALL TIME I LOVE THIS JOINT I COULD ONLY IMAGINE HOW THE VIDEO WOULD HAVE BEEN ILL, SMH I LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE ON THIS NAS JUST BODIED IT BUT IF YOU EVER BEEN LOCKED UP ON RHIKHERS ISLAND THEN YOU KNOW WHAT GHOST IS TALKING BOUT HIS JOINT WAS CRAZY TOO AND RAY WAS SMOOTH LAID BACK BUT RAPID FIRE FLOW SMH THIS WAS CLASSIC!!!

  • ghost went hard on this but nas got the edge. yall know it.

  • Nas is the best on this

  • props is a true thugs wife.

  • This is when niggas actually went in the studio and competed with each other. These niggas were arrogant and cocky and never wanted to be out done by one another. Now everyone's on the buddy buddy shit, go in the studio suck each others dick and bite other niggas style. That is the problem with hiphop now, no competition and biting at a all time high. This is why niggas like Jay-Z and Nas are lazy because none of these young niggas could fuck with them on the mic so there not inspired.

  • @blackplaque617 you took the paragraph right out of mouth

  • NASTY

  • nas's verse was from Deja vu track on the pre-matic mixtape but toughhhh

  • i aint gone lie. im from the deep south but this album was the jump off. only shit id still bump

  • they all fucking murdered it, but nas' verse is on another level lol

  • lil wayne > nas

  • @eel1990 Funny man.

  • @eel1990 yeah, ok. douche. ha.

  • @eel1990 just kill yourself faggot

  • @eel1990 Obvious troll is obvious

  • @eel1990 bitch

  • @eel1990 lol i did the same shit on a 2pac video...even tough ur obviously jokeing its still funny who pissed people get

  • the beat, the lyrics, perfection.

"live on the run, police paying me to give em my gun"

  • it's hard to resist touching myself to this song....

  • these guys have to perform this song at ROCK THE BELLS IN TORONTO SEPT 8th

  • nas has a flawless flow and delivery ....prob one of the best verses ever! nas>>>>>

  • there all 3 great but Nas was just WOW intelligent and Just explained Life a Little

  • Raekwon has a hell of a flow

  • give it up to the fucking rza for producing such a dope beat for nas rae and ghost to do what they always do, murder and shine on the track.

  • This is a good video foreal.''Raekwon''.''Ghostface Killah''.''Wu-Tang Clan''.''Nas''.

  • Respect to Ghost and Chef, but there ain't no way in hell anyone can follow that opening... This and the 4th verse of Aquemini from 3 Stacks are the best verses ever imo.

  • Dang, Nas' verse is sick. So did Raekwon and Ghostface Killah.

  • Everyone did well, being a big Nas fan y'all making it look like he outshines everyone this song is perfect.

  • Immaculate.

  • ghost killed this shit

  • Nas Best Lyricist ALIVE

  • Normal people get better as they grow

But Nas can't keep up with his younger self! He was grown too ill too quick

  • One of the top 3-5 albums of the 90's.

  • Sex To My Ears........

  • hahaha classic how they all start to talk through each other in the intro, this is classic material from three legends

  • this is real flow naz can spit fire

  • im in a bad fucking mood. its 2 am on a saturday night. these mid 90's new york rappers are the only ones that are comforting me

  • Deja-vu!

  • Nas opening has to be one of the greatest opening. Rap at that times was so fucking fresh

  • Nas is the greatest opener ever. Hands down.

  • Nas stole the song at 0:31

  • best nas verse

  • FUCK THE MAINSTREAM!! ITS ALL ABOUT THAT UNDERGROUND SON!

  • Do a bullet, come back, do the same shit again

  • but what if he? UMUMUMUMUMUM

  • "…Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun./ Trick my Wisdom, with the system that imprisoned my son./ Smoke a gold leaf I hold heat, nonchalantly./ I'm raunchy, but things I do is real it never haunts me./ While, funny style ni--as roll in the pile./ Booster heads profile on a bus to Riker's Isle./ Holdin weed inside they pu--y with they minds on the pretty things in life, props is a true thug's wife."

  • One of the few albums from that time and even now that every track was hot. A real classic!

  • Through the lights camera action, glamour glitters & gold !!!!! Nas rips it like no one else !!!!

  • nas knew he had to go hard on this track because Rae was on it and he prolly knew it was gonna be an album cut... BOTTOM LINE nas takes raekwon to school here

  • @samsanonic That track is legendary!

  • It's funny because Ghost says "show those crabs how to rhyme", and Nas did just that. Nas it THE best to ever do it.

    Nas

    Talib Kweli

    Jean-Grae

    Pun

    Eminem

    5A. Royce-5'9"

Take it how you want...and I'm gone.

  • Nas' verse was worthy of a thesis, or further study of some sort. How can someone capture an entire cosmos of imagery in under 45 or so seconds of time? When I heard the song at first, a year after it came out, I listened attentively to Nas' verse probably ten times before even bothering to listen to what ANYONE else on the track had to say (and the other verses would surely compete with some of the best verses of the last decade); but that's how good Nas was on this. Just...I mean...man...

  • @mibraliy i just find it amazing how popularity and money changes things. u know? u look at a cat like Nas and then you look at Jay Z. i mean, only cuz rap became an image thing and a popularity contest is the reason he got were he did(Jay). not about what it was originally: an expression, street poetry, poetry in GENERAL. as you said, lyrics that are worthy of a thesis. i won't lie, Jay's got skills, but he's no Nas, or Talib, or Common, Mos. i can name more but u get what i'm sayin?

  • @thesh00ter for the most part what your saying is fact, but the whole thing with Jay not being on the same level as Nas, Mos and Common i cant agree with. Jay is just as good as those mentioned before but he dosent go into the same subject matter as Nas and company, because well i guess society just wont let him or at maybe he just knows his audience. Just trust me the skills is there and on par with any lyricist out there, and im saying this as a die hard Nas and Mos fan. Cool post though peace

  • @vex2020 well no doubt he's got skills, i'll never deny that, but i'm just going at the perspective of the audience. it's the same thing now, he may not be putting a lot like he used to out but u got Wayne and others capturing all the audience. why? cuz they talk about all the things people wanna hear.

  • In no particular order on the line they are on, higher the better. Big L,Eminem, Rakim, Pac Nas, Redman, 1990's Jay-Z, Ice Cube Dre, Biggie, Shyheim, Big Daddy Kane,Slick Rick Kurupt, Mos Def, Eazy E, Black thought, Big Pun, Eazy-E, Kool G Rap, Guru, (all of Wu-Tang) Groups: Wu Tang,Eric B & Rakim, NWA, Mobb Deep, The LOX, Run DMC, DITC.
  • @dinoman6 Blackstar?

  • @0wnij ?

  • @dinoman6 You gotta include Blackstar in your groups... Look em up its Mos Def and Talib Kweli

  • @dinoman6 Nah man Eminem best stuff was when he was underground, none of his new stuff can compare to it. plus I would put Cage over him, Big Jus, El, Sir Menalik.

  • best product on the block.

  • Nas bodied this

  • I mean Nas is good, does everyone turn off the song before Ghostface? His verse raped my ears

  • @Haushinka1000Hours he meant to

  • @Haushinka1000Hours

Every verse on this was gold. Listen to it again.

  • @Haushinka1000Hours

not to take anything away from Nas cause he's one of the illest ever but most cats ain't gunna big up Ghost (or Rae) cause they can't relate...most of em would be looking gay in the yard...

  • @Haushinka1000Hours GHOST is the best at it yo deseve's the crown!!!!!!!!

  • @Haushinka1000Hours ghost raped ur ear in this? ur ear must b easy to rape, this just may be his worst verse eva

  • @everythingsreal You shut your whore mouth when Ghost is on the mic

  • @Haushinka1000Hours real recognise real man lol i bet if u ask ghost he'd tell u the same. u dno music i understand y u would be offended

  • @everythingsreal nothing you said makes sense. Do you know the English language? Also, shut your whore mouth when Ghost is on the mic.

  • @everythingsreal Also I bet if you told Tony Starks that he'd bitchslap you. But it's cool, you don't know the history or anything about music so you should just walk away man.

  • @Haushinka1000Hours lol the history of music dont change its quality. ghost is one of my favourite rappers so i know to compare between his verses, not blindly love everything he writes like you do

  • @everythingsreal looking, looking.... nope, nowhere does it say that. But hey it's cool to see you lie on the internet. And yeah, knowing the history of rap is very important when comparing verses or MC's. To say it isn't is ignorant to everything hip hop stands for. Then again, I wouldn't expect someone from the UK to know anything about it anyway, so it's not like I think any less of you :)

  • @Haushinka1000Hours being in england dont make me less able to hear music lol (retard) and nope history does not relate to comparing between a rappers verses. you just see which one has tighter flow and smarter lyrics. u brains not representin so well for ur country, but then again i dont group people like dat.
