Yo Billy. When the Gateway had 6 and the United had 2 after you dropped Shien, you could have removed all 8 counters for 2 Kizans. Dropped them both giving Gateway 4 and United 2. Remove the last 4 to search HotSS to thin the deck, then draw 2 cards ending with 1 Shien, 1 Grandmaster, 2 Kizan, 1 Gateway, and 5 in hand.

When you open with United and Gateway you suppose to end with 2 Kizan, Grandmaster, Shein and an additional Six Samurai in hand (likely Hand of the Six). Billy should have removed 2 counters and not drawn for United. Instead searching for Kizan, summoning to get 6 counters on Gateway and one on United. Then search another Kizan for 2 on United and 4 on Gateway. Finally searching for Hand and then drawing 2.
