ya that's not how to throw a good football dude. You roll the fingers off of the football and keep your elbow above you shoulder line. and then when you release you follor through. don't slash your fingers across the ball, but roll them off for a better throw

Its really all about the follow through and release point, throwing a football is something that is different for everybody...Trial and error and a buddy to throw it around with is all you need. Practice makes perfect!

These how-to guides are annoying when the guy doesn't even know the mechanics to throwing a football properly.

The ball is supposed to come off the index finger and your hand/wrist follow through the opposite way from how he finishes. The thumb is supposed to be facing you as you snap your wrists and finish the throw, not the way this guy demonstrates. And he throws it side armed! That's not completely wrong, but that's not exactly how you should start off throwing.
