  • Shouldn't there be parentheses around the y+2★

    so it would be (y+2)★ if you wanted to solve it like this, otherwise,

    y★= y+ (2^2+4*2)

    and y+12=y^2 + 4y

    or 0= y^2 +3y -12

    or are they implied in this situation by a special set of rules?

    im studying right now. ive taken the SAT twice already and i am really not happy with what i got and im really studying hard now.

    but the thing that really gets to me is the amount of time for each section.
