@keithallenlaw sure its good for you kid to know its reality and that things happen, but thats not something he should have to see. Im a fire fighter and ive seen "reality" and some things are better off not seen by the public eye. Some times it would be better if nobody had to see it

@explorerpete i agree that 3 years old is pretty young to watch someone get run down by a truck but the other guy has a point. for the first 5-10 years of our lives we are more or less helpless beings with many other species hunting their own food after a year or two. i am also keeping in mind the the length of the life spans but we are still one of the slowest species to become self dependent.

It's different when your on the floor. The sound echoes and the trucks always proceed in single file to the pits after a race. He probably thought the truck to his left was the second when it was the first.
He just got too comfortable around them and in the end the cars and him had something in common. It sucks, but, usually the worst accidents are the ones that could have been most easily avoided.
