  • Thanks a lot! Such a cheerful piece of music... it could wake the dead:)

  • I hate vanessa mae when she play classic music with electronic or pop music

  • Incredibile Vanessa Mae con un Trio divino!

  • the second violinist is much better

  • She is a musical Genius, Child Prodigy, started playing at age 3 I believe.

Great Personality and very hot looking

    Critices are just jealous

  • 20 people are deaf

  • Oh Vanessa is just fantastic...A virtuoso solo violinist, she deserves every credit.

  • ma vai a studiare musica, cretina !

  • awsome talent

  • I just LOVE the way everyone smiles on stage

  • YOU ARE THE BEST ...THIS IS REAL MUSIC....

  • THIS IS REAL MUSIC!! YOU NUMBER ONE.....

  • @loboestepario39

ma cosa sai tu di Musica......? scemo!

  • wow.....best....

  • Lool i searched techno and this came up

  • Wohooo...awesome awesome^__^ I love this piece too^__^

  • I am The Mother of all experts( lol) It is my supreme and mother of all judgements, that, you Vanessa Mae are a master of The Violin.

Fear not of the rantings of lesser experts than myself, for their rantings are borne out of jealousy, envy, malace, denial or other mental disorder.

Those whom dare challenge my supreme expertise and judgement shall be put to the sword. I hereby decree. My judgement is final. Now be gone you lesser experts and creatins

  • @SuperDonna888 I am the Supreme Ruler of the Cosmos, the Seven Seas and the little wooden shed at the bottom of our garden. I therefore speak with authority. You are right to say that Vanessa is a master of the violin, and all those who disagree should be banished to the Devil's bowels and from there expelled with considerable discomfort

  • @blackbeasthamish hahaha...of course you do realize that even The Supreme Ruler has a mother and as previously stated, I am The Mother of All, including Supreme Rulers. However as we seem to agree, there's no conflict of interest, most fortunately for you. Be advised, My sword is made of the finest steel and can strike as fast as lightening, as all peaches will attest.....Now, if I may enquire, as to what your sword made of?....Pork perhaps?

  • @SuperDonna888 Yes my sword is made of Pork - but only the very best. It is made from the finest components gifted by the Gods Pan, Apollo and some guy called Ivor BIggun who apparently sings rude songs about flatulence. (so I'm told - hahah.) What it lacks in speed it makes up for in - - - - perhaps better not go into that. But certainly I would hope enough to make any mother proud of her sons hidden talents

  • @blackbeasthamish Indeed, surely a mother would be proud, especially her son having associations with The Legendary Ivor Biggun, whom, I am informed, knows a snake charmer, with special talents and know- how. However, his insistent singing might be an indication of turbullent times ahead, not withstanding noxious fumes. Nevertheless a song is only a song after all.

  • @SuperDonna888 Indeed, Ivor Biggun does know such a snake charrner. How fortuitous of you to predict turbulent times. I am just back from the hospital where he is dangerously ill with methane poisoning. He was found unconscious late last night in a telephone kiosk and police are of the opinion that this might be attempted suicide.. His mother is at his bedside trying to rouse him by singing his favourite songs like "whistle down the wind" I sure we all wish him a speedy recovery

  • @blackbeasthamish That poor man. I do wish him a speedy recovery and if in the event, that, you're caught short and summoned to his bedside without delay, I could only recommend that you make haste, before he is gone with the wind. That poor man. Surely he is in an oxygen tent at this very moment, in a haze of unmentionable discomfort., tossing from one side to the other. Pray speed his relief...

  • @SuperDonna888 You will be pleased to hear that Ivor is now off the danger list and starting to feel himself again (something he apparently makes a habit of according to his mother). You will also be pleased to know that like us he too thinks that Vanessa is a master of the violin, though his preference of course is for wind instruments. He has asked me to thank you for your concern and to convey to you his very best wishes

  • @blackbeasthamish You bring glad tiding kind sir. It must have brought tears to his mothers' eyes seeing him, 'feeling himself again' and no doubt, euphoric celebrations, have commenced at this joyous occaasion. Perhaps his preference for wind instruments raises the possibility of a duet with Vanessa. Pray tell what he might play and surely Vanessa would have much to say, of the proposition, god speed. Kind regards to the good gentleman.

  • @SuperDonna888 A duet with Vanessa would be wonderful. I suspect though that Ivor may be a player of the oboe, and Vanessa's style therefore might not excite him the same as does me. Nevertheless, I think they might make a fair job of a tune from an old western movie called Calamity Jane featuring the song Windy City. I am sure Vanessa would be thrilled by such a proposal - well maybe not! By the way Ivor is blowing like a goodun again and wishes to be remembered to you.

  • @SuperDonna888 I challenge your ability to spell *Malice

  • @xXJEashXx good heavens, my careless behaviour has lead me to great shame and ridicule amongst my contemporaries and how will I ever face my students again? You held me up to scrutiny and laid bare my appalling mistake...I shall make haste and prepare my letter of resignation at once. I shall fire myself without delay. Thank you kind sir for your observations..now I am unemployed...sob sob

  • She's so inspiring!

  • nossa que sorriso dela, mim apaixonei.

  • teamwork is important when you play a string quartet ....

  • You probably also believe that Charlie Daniels ("The devil came to Giorgia") is the best violinist in the world.. Try Europe or Russia for good musicians...forget about "beauties" and flashy Asians aficionados (Kareokee).....

  • I can sense a lot of red necks around here...how do I know? A lot of over-excitment and exageration; oviously you have never been exposed to something better.

Let her try a whole (over an hour concert) and see how she manages. That was only a portion (excerpt) from a minor sonata.

  • @bvb7589 Well, apparently, she's done over an hour concerts and she's more famous than you are. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's not fair to deem people who like her rednecks just because she's not as classically inclined as compared to other famous players. She's also apparently the first person to combine pop with classical. A different genre. Oh and let me remind you again that she's probably more famous (and beautiful) than you are. Please don't relate her fame to being Asian, thank you.

  • I love this video, I can watch/listen to it over and over again. The music is spectacular and Vanessa is a 10!

  • Comment removed

  • @daihard1974 actually she was originally from Singapore but was educated in the uk, trying doing some research before giving people false info

    :3

  • She is incredible!..:-)

  • watch this over and over and over.

  • how old is she ...

  • she IS good

  • @xXJohnnymac16Xx

my first inclination is to say screw off you lousy johnnymac16Xx idiot, however, your comment is your comment. but maybe i myself have made such an ignorant comment once upon a time. in any case, i have personally found Vanessa to be exhilerating, no matter if your right on or not. she is more than what you see in her, and it is very obvious to me, however, once again, however, you have a right to your opinion.

  • not to offend anyone, but dont bash her, Im sure none of you can play on her level. No need to get jealous.. And hey, if you dont like her style , why bother coming in this page in the first place!

  • She's soooo pretty AND talented. I'd say she's like the best violinist in the world???

and the others were soooo good too! Her musician friends... that man next to her was very nice too.

  • I'd give a hand to the supporting artists as well.

  • OMFG! sheis so awesome!!!!! XDDD

  • bravissima, bellissima

  • pretty cool !

  • Omg. I hated this chick until this video. This is the only serious piece of classical music i've ever heard her play..... ever, and its amazing. This just changed my opinion of her. I still dislike her music video things, but this makes me respect her more as a violinist

  • Actually, she did four incredible classical albums. You should look them up. Her recording of the Devil's Trill Sonata is amazing (not the pop version, the actual sonata).

  • @WarholVirtuoso

Can you give me the name of her albums? I want to purchase them; her skill is amazing.

  • does anyone happen to want to know about it?

  • Unbelievably talented with an otherworldly beauty, plus a voice that puts the warbling of a bird to shame!

  • god i hate lil wayne.. this music soothes me.. i love it..

  • it's really quite a beatiful masterpiece she played it very well it would have been perfect for a formal party oh i wish i could throw one I would play all the Rossini, Bach, and Piazolli I own then end it with my favorite Toccata and Fugue. but be that as it may i live in an uncivialized place with people who think they have no use for this type of music instead perfering their "Lil' Wayne" to such art work, huh, pity guess i'll just have to amuse myself.

  • It looks like they ae having a duel (in a funny and nice way)

I heart this one so much

  • ...COOL!

  • she is a great musician!

  • She is a great musician... and beatifull !!!

  • no viola -_-

  • great piece of music :)

  • tiene plata la mae eh

  • She's quite a fiddler isn't she ?? gorgious too.

  • Music created by Gioachino Rossini, an Italian composer. Beautiful music...

  • lolle! no "an" ... but "THE" LOLLE

I do not vote "down" to you..

  • Oh well :-) I wrote "an" because I like him and many other Italian composers, for example Bellini, Landino, Paganini, Verdi, Salieri, Donizetti, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Zarlino, Puccini, Galilei, Marenzio, Peri, Cavalieri, Caccini, Artusi, Cimarosa, Paisello, Ranzato, Pietri, Lombardo, Palestrina, Respighi, Piccinni, Scarlatti, Dallapiccola, Gabrieli, Petrucci, Neri, De Venosa, Monteverdi, etc lol :-)+)

  • LOLLE! YOU KNOW MORE ITALIAN COMPOSER THEN ME! LOLLE

    I LOVE YOUR Culpture

  • That woman takes my breath away. She is riveting , in both her beauty and artistic skill.

  • i was thinking the same thing

  • @ttlly13 WHY EVEN BRING "BEAUTY" INTO THE EQUATION?????...She's definitely a good violinist, but a beauty?..........Beauty is in the eye of Billy Holden, of course.....ALSO REMEMBER: THIS IS A TWO AND A HALF MINUTE SONATA, NOT A TWO-HOUR CONCERTO. David Oistrak was the all time best by far (Opus 61 Beethoven's concerto in D major will open your eyes and your ears; 68 minutes of maestry. Not taking any credit from this lady of course.......

  • This is her concert, so she must be the main violinist.

  • Vanesa Mae es muy talentosa, aparte de bellísima.

  • This is lovely.

  • She is the main violinist.

  • must be using the loud tune make of volin...you how some violin has loud or sweet or clear....e.g. Strad T19 model.

    I am not sure myself.

  • her violin is is too loud compared to other instruments. Good though

  • Yeah, whats up with that? Is she standing by a hidden mic, or she just playing too loud all together?

  • perhaps I guess so!!

  • GRANDIOSO!

  • great interpretation, Ol' boy Played that shit, and Vanessa did too, I don't see why everyone criticisie a slight movement of finger or touch? Why Does Classical Music stay Classical?

  • pretty piece of music, I enjoyed that

  • she looks like bell in that dress bell from disney HAHA

  • hey your right, she's very pretty

  • I heard her violin is Guadanini ,called 'GIZUMO'.

    Is it right?

  • I love how when the 2nd violin has the nice "solo" it's so much better than how Vanessa did it. Bash me or what. Ya Vanessa is talented, but she sure can be sloppy.

  • She obviously doesn't do chamber music very much. I heard slight tempo and dynamic issues. And it's not that the other guy was better overall. Vanessa has an amazing tone when she plays, but technically, yes, she can be sloppy. The other guy, though...in comparison to her, his tone definitely lacked. But he's very good with technique. VERY good, his fingers were flying and everything was clear.

  • Her violin is SOO mic'd. Vanessa's tone sucks because she's been playing on that electric violin too long.

  • HAHAH THE SECOND VIOLINIST WAS THERE IN THE VIDEO OF vIOLIN fANTASY AS THE CONDUCTOR....COOL...NEVER HE PLAYED THE VIOLIN...

  • His name is Vasko Vassilev, he collaborated with Vanessa when they played Vivaldi's original 4 seasons together for Mae's 3rd classical album.

  • oh i knw him!!!!

does he play electric violin too????? is he bulgarian....i remember my friend's aunt who happens to be Bulgarian talk about him to me....

  • I'm not familiar with Vasko's repertoire, but I'm pretty sure that he does not play any electric violins. He just plays traditional violin music like this one and the 4 Seasons.

  • she's actually creating an album to be released sometime in 2009

  • its really nice to see vasko vassilev and vanessa mae make a duo they are lke two of the finest of violinists you can get and its nice seeing them so poisely eloquently laying it and vassilev ends the first dramatisation very well and makes a gesture that looks so gentlemen ish towarrds vanessa and she answers the call fabulously i guess it cant get better than this!

  • lol all lookit that guy's toupee shake when he goes hardcore!!

  • I LOVE VM's British accent, I think it's very cute. According to her biography, she is the daughter of a Chinese woman and a Thai man, but she was raised in London. And this video proves to all of her skeptics that she does great justice to the traditional classical pieces as well as to her techno-fusion songs(like Storm).

  • wow she has a beautiful voice.

  • and hes not doing all the work, they're alternating parts...

  • fiddle...lmao. I despise that word.

  • Does the word "fiddle" make you think of hillbillies? Is that why you despise it so much?

  • LOL I like the way the second fiddle does all the work !

  • she's really talented. too bad no more recording up to now.

  • Vanessa Mae & Vasko Vassilev yeeeeh :)

  • I agree with you Nightshaft.

  • I need the whole vdo, so

would someone please upload the whole vdo

    of this concert?

    Thanks a lot.

  • People love to analyze these things into the ground. Because eeeeeeeeeeveryone on youtube is an expert. Just ask anyone. I think I'm the only non-expert on this website. If you were so great, so profound, so professional... we'd be watching a clip of you instead of this. BUT THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME THE WAY OH BLESSED KNOW IT ALLS!!!

  • @Nightshaft Thank you for your blessings kind sir.

  • @Nightshaft

bravo! well said, so we will see who steps up

  • ohh, sounds lovely

  • let's not get too technical. just enjoy the music... that's what they are for, right? =)

  • She deserve a Stradivarius!!

  • Dear friend benn93z28, thank you so much for sharing with us the amazing and wonderful performances of the cute and beautiful lady, Ms. Vanessa Mae.

She is absolutely amazing and lovely.

    Best regards,

    Javier V. Maldonado

  • I personally felt the other violinist had a better tone.

  • its so cool to see her do actual classical instead of her modern stuff, their still cool though :)

  • i hate her fingering. its sooooo lifeless. she doesnt even try to lift a finger for counterpuntal balance

  • Actually, I am not a big Vanessa Mae fan, but i must say her left hand is amazing. All the old greats, such Milestein and Rosand never lifted their fingers. Sometimes when they play, you would not even see their left fingers move, just their bow hand. That helps to go faster. If you are lifting your fingers, it will take you a tad bit longer to get to the next note unlike the person who does not lift their fingers.

  • my teacher tells me the same thing. But violinist like Kyung-wha Chung, Mxim Venegrov, Chee-yun kim, Sarah Chang etc do lift thier fingers and stiil manage to play in a fast speed. OH yah, n her vibrato, its sooooooooooooo ugly...she does the wrist vibrato n never the hand vibrato or the other ones.

  • Yeah, well, you, me and Vanessa Mae are most definitely not Kyung Wha Chung, Maxim, Chee, or Sarah Chang. So we better just stick to our teacher's method of not lifting our fingers, which makes life a whole lot simpler for the not so genius.

  • And actually Maxim and Sarah pretty much keep their fingers down except when using fourth finger in higher postions other than 1st. otherwise their pretty good about keeping them down.

  • Esta mujer es perfecta todas las estrellas son pocas un 10 Vanessa

  • Esta mujer es perfecta todas las estrellas son pocas besitos

  • awful.Extreme lack of style

  • bravo

  • I love the melodious tone of the cello in 2.00 !!!!

I love classical (Especiall the one that has gotta do with allegreeto :)

  • To all of the VM haters out there: This video PROVES that VM can also do great justice to CLASSICAL pieces, not just that techno-pop stuff that you hear. In the 2nd Classical Album music, VM says that "classical music is very close to my heart."

  • Did anyone else see a string snap on the second violinist near the end? I thought I did.

  • i think that's a bow.

  • ....cello

  • Well, classical music is NOT everyone's cup of tea, I guess...

  • lol Come on it's that bad.....

  • Even though I'm a big fan of VM and Vasko, I think the following 5 men are truly the greatest violinists of all time:

    1. Niccolo Paganini

    2. Antonio Vivaldi

    3. Jascha Heifetz

    4. Itzhak Perlman

    5. Shlomo Mintz

  • love it

  • what is with her tempo changes?

  • I don't think the time signature changes anywhere...I just think that this piece has a lot of quarter rests when she makes that transition from playing the eighth notes to playing the slower quarter notes.

  • Agreed..

  • hey!! I´m playing this Rossini´s quartet too! Wuao! They play it really cooooooool! Although the style is not really appropiate(glisandos, change of tempo...does not fix mostly in this classical piece),I really like it! And I think that one of the most important things when playing the violin is: being yorself and enjoying what you do! The audience ,in fact, really appreciates it!

  • VM was a classical violinist a long time BEFORE she even started to play "pop" music!!

  • Nice!! All 4 of them did a very nice job with this piece!!

  • Vasko Vassilev rocks in this piece!! The other musicians did very well too! And it sickens me that many people criticize VM because of her contemporary, unorthodox songs, such as "Classical Gas" and those kinds of songs. They don't realize that she too is a virtuoso capable of doing good justice to any classical piece of music.

  • Now I was able to confirm that she is a musical genius, in the likes of Mozart.

  • VanessaMaeFan18, yes, Vasko is a FABULOUS violin player!! I played the violin in high school for a few years, and I've learned a lot of things from watching these fine musicians! I hope that one day I can play as good as them...

  • The violinist standing right next to VM is one of the world's greatest violinists, and he helped her play and record Vivaldi's 4 Seasons for the 3rd Classical Album.

  • vasko vassliev is his name!!!!! violin virtoruso vasko vassleiv! he could give vanessa mae a run for his money!!

  • Bulgarians are very proud of him! As one of them, :), I am proud of him too!

  • E' l'apoteosi della bellezza......in tutte le sue sfaccettature sia artistiche che fisiche

  • me encata vanessa mae es lo mejor

  • Vanessa Mae IS gifted...she was the youngest person to play and record Tchaikovsky's and Beethoven's violin concertos at the age of 13...not everyone can do that!! I hate it that so many people don't give her the credit that she deserves, if you're one of those people, then I urge you to listen to her Classical Albums 2 and 3(Bruch's Scottish Fantasy and Vivaldi's 4 Seasons).

  • omg..... how the heck am i gonna be able to play that?..... LOL. great song though but.... T_T... it's gonna take me FOREVER to learn that.....

  • technik? xD

  • i agree with you

  • WOW, Vanessa Mae, you're also a team player! You collaborated very well with these fine musicians, and you had a very crisp, clear technique in playing Rossini. Very well done! I think I can play that piece, with about 100 hours of practice!

  • wow - very nice

  • yeah that was completely classical, not that techno-pop classical, and completely live. Way to go!

  • J'adore sa robe!!!! Sinon comme d'hab très joli à entendre!!

  • Bravisimo

  • Very very nice! Great job Vanessa!
