About how much did this setup cost you? I also talked to a muffler shop and they said that you cannot remove the reac cats because they have sensors on them?
@protokingunder9 About $580 or so. And the rear set on 04/05s do not, but 97/03s do. The 06+ all have a 2 cat system with sensors mounted in the middle.
@gatorboy1990 get rid of the mufflers you chose and get Race series of either DynoMax ( Bullets ), Magnaflow, or Borla. Or run no mufflers at all with hi-flow cats.
Hey man I'm lookin to get a very similar setup to this for my 2004 5.4, if not this exact one. Do you think it would be too loud or obnoxious to run just the 4 cats with an x-pipe and no mufflers?
@beakers10 There are numerous paragraphs of what I could say about each, but in short, the F150 is a little more economical over the 2500HD gas, and more comfortable. The bulky seats, small arm rests on door, awkward fold down console, and the super sensitive accelerator pedal left me with disappointment in the Silverado. This F150 XLT was a step up imo since it was lighter, had equal torque numbers to the 6.0L gen3 LS series, and nothing except brakes and a fuel module went wrong with it.
@mitchcollins1234 duals in t-409 stainless were $280 installed, tips were $110, mufflers were $50 for me but retail $90 shipped, the rear cat delete costed about $40 in parts, so you are looking at about $520 in exhaust give or take prices and tax.
@creed8186 Yes, this truck came with 4 cats stock, I removed the rear set so it ran the front 2 cats only which were O2 monitored and are designed as a catalyst only, no sound deadening combs, basically a hi-flow.
@tuffnugly454 Never planned headers. You got rid of yours? I guess you could say I was unhappy with my truck overall, traded it in on 5/10/11 for a 07 Supercrew Lariat.
@DarrenWS6 Congrats on the new purchase man, I loved mine to no end. I traded my truck due to "unfinished business" with my former boss. The rest is personal.
Puzzles me why you weren't happy with your truck. To each his own man :)
@tuffnugly454 It was upgrade time, 3yrs with it. The transmission was acting up some and there was a ticking sound I could not find inside the dash that drove me nuts, and just a boring XLT. Love the Lariat, comfortable, luxurious, great looking.
@laptop69 No real opinion as I do not use off the shelf products. I use Collinite 845 for winter for its longetivity synthetic last, I also use this on my frame. I use Adam's polish and waxes most commonly on my seasonal details, Meguiars synthetic sealant and yellow wax in the summer months.
hey man, did you have to rechip your computer for your 02 senors to not screw up? the muffler shops around here keep saying true dual is a waste of money. could use some advice since you have done plenty of exhaust set ups.
@37Jordank I did not have to do anything with my catalyst model. The rear sensors were infront of the rear cats. Did not trip a CEL. The 2006+ have a 2 cat system with the O2s mounted in the middle of them. As long as if they are changed out for hi-flow cats, as long as the O2s are relocated after the cats, no CEL will trip.
And any shop that will not run dual exhaust banks is either lazy, or does not want you coming back with a performance complaint and wants to cover their hides.
I read in one of your comments that you lost MPGs in your silverado when you switched to flowmasters, did you see any change in econ when you went from stock to magnaflows to dynomax on your F150? Im trying to choose an exhaust for my truck. Thanks
@02LM7 When I changed the stock restricted F150 2.5" single exhaust to the X piped 2.5" true duals the cruising mpg numbers shot up well. breathed much better, about 1.5mpg better highway. Was a pinch faster too. No change in the muffler performance since they are both straight through high performance designs. Only difference is the Bullets are crappy aluminized steel and a good margin louder than my old Magnaflow 11" bodies.
@gatorboy1990 Change to louder mufflers, Magnaflow Magnapacks or Dynomax Bullets. Both the mufflers are very low priced but buying them and install may run over $120.
@keithsmith2112 Na it sucks. Haha. I gotta get ya to film me some more video this spring. Can pay ya for a good job. Gonna get a ton of clips, including a 120mph pass and a couple burn outs.
Sounds good but I'm not crazy about dynomax bullets, I've heard cherry bomb extreme single chambers on an f150 and I prefer that tone. Nice truck btw.
Hey Darren, question about corsa vs straight pipe. I know there is a sound difference but performance wise? The two setups would perform the same since it's just a straight through pipe on the RSC corsa muffler with a few 'baffle' type things, but it doesn't look like that would interfere with flow any differently than a straight pipe setup.
@rainstick27 The tiny flared baffle design inside the Corsa mufflers gives that return of velocity which is usually great for exhausts, this is where straight pipes fail to perform well. Its bad to have a huge velocity disturbance such as an open chamber muffler, but the Corsa and straight through designed mufflers will operate well.
Okay I see what you mean, I'm piecing together a custom system with using (1) single in/ single out muffler and can't decide between Corsa, Magnaflow, or a Bullet. Which would you recommend ?
@DarrenWS6 Dude please tell me exactly how you have this setup? You deleted the Resonators, aka the rear cats. Then did you put the X-Pipe there, and the mufflers? Can you message me a link to all the stuff I know I can find the bullets.. but I want them tips, and the X-Pipe. I wanna know exactly where you put it... That truck is so fucking loud, and I will get mine like that. I can put money on that...
@DarrenWS6 dont quite have the hearing as i use to hahaha. could be the speakers too... thanks... i currently have a 3" cat back with a dynomax ultraflo, sounds really nice, deep tone, but lost some low in power, so been lookin on here for a new set up. and this one sounds the best bar far. thanks.
very nice sound i like the deep tone but i was wondering how far back you put the mufflers from the headers and also if theres an x pipe in it cause by the looks of it at 7:42 the pipes are completely seperate
@tylersportsman There is an X pipe, not separate, but its both intermediate pipe cut and welded together, a cheap design but it works decent. Towards the end of the video before the behind scene footage the video clearly shows where the mufflers are mounted and located. As is with any truck they should be closest to the axle as possible.
@05silvy It had a rumbly downrev which sounded cool, but it just sounded like some Flowmaster. Not for me, the straight through deep toned mufflers sound best to me.
@1800partyboy Its a custom tuned Gryphon, not chip, both are very different, just mentioning. Performance mods im guessing you mean, 3" enclosed intake is the only other performance modification. The rest are pure cosmetic ( black painted head/fogs, smoked tails now, LEDs throughout, lots of small details.
hey what size wheeles and tires are thoes because im thinking about getting the rockstar xds from kmc and im not looking to lift it and by the loooks of yours its not lifted i dont think
@0113TMoney13 It has never stuck. I would take it to the dealer as a power train issue. These throttle bodies are electronic not cable, so there is some issues with the accelerator recoil itself. Save your life and get it serviced asap.
@mlg6992 Bullets are very deep/low toned, with cats. Even without they are, but the WOT trash would be wickedly louder than any tin can Flowmaster. Flowmaster come nothing as great as the Bullets sound. Only thing a Flowmaster is good for is a loud putting idle. Magnaflow is stainless and the same striahgt through concept, but are quieter than Bullets, unless you get their equivalent, the Magnapack 4" round body.
Hey Darren got a question man, I want to redo my current super 44 setup for something that will give me less drone, longer lasting materials and most importantly better power. I just want to know if you think I should go with a single free flowing muffler, or true dual? I love the sound of true duals but don't want to lose any lowend tq, can you help me please? Thanks! and badass truck
@rainstick27 Unless you want high rpm power, true duals is not necessary. Look into the Magnaflow 14" body or Borla ProXS for stainless steel flow through high performance and a rich deep note.
@DarrenWS6 Ok, cool, so then would a SI/SO magnapack for instance, with a Y-pipe behind the muffler and dual out due the trick? I figure with the smaller muffler, it will be louder, but retain the single muffler low-end power.
@rainstick27 yeah man it will, a few people have done that to achieve the dual tails and single muffler tone and price. Search up member 08FX4 and you can hear it.
@DarrenWS6 I have heard that truck and it sounds pretty damn good! Last question, I promise lol, what size piping should I run behind the muffler with that setup? I have the 4.6l V8 by the way so I'm sure that plays a part in what pipe size I should use to retain low-end power.
@DarrenWS6 How do the bullets hold up there with the snow and stuff? im assuming that in the winter they put salt out on the roads and stuff like that? Just trying to get an idea of the durability
@brad9899999 It will be close, it will be deep toned but not as deep toned as the Ford Modular Triton V8 is since your block is a pushrod type, yours will be slightly more aggressive toned with more back wrap/crackle to it. It will sound pretty damn good, Bullets sound awesome on anything.
@DarrenWS6 yeah, i was hoping it would sound similar to yours. im having a hard time deciding on what i want, i dont like the crackle and pop noise, but with just about all the exhaust id have some of that. im looking at the cherrybomb glasspack, flowmaster 40, and now, the dynomax bullets, lol. when i make my decision, ill make a vid and post it as a responce on one of your vids, itll probally be 3 weeks or so before i get anything tho.
@brad9899999 Flowmaster is junk, and Glasspacks are worse than Flowmasters. Look into Magnaflow, or Borla mufflers. I don't think you would be dissapointed with the Borla XR1, loud, deep toned, should wrap much. If you want no wrap/crackle, and want it deep toned, look into the two exhausts I suggested above, look for a straight through design muffler.
@DarrenWS6 i was looking into magnaflow awhile back, but one of ma buddies got a truck exactly like mines with magnaflow and .. its too quiet for me., borla, on the other hand, i like alot. i just dont know how much itll cost me, the cheapest that i found was glasspacks, and if you type in chevy glasspack on here itll come up, i like how that one sounds, but also, type in 08 silverado borla., id LOVE for my truck to sound lie that. just with the 45degree pipes.
@brad9899999 Sorry been busy lately, not much internet time. I would never run glasspacks of any kind.. true mufflers only, durable and long lasting.Hi-flow cats is the best thing to do to open the exhaust sound more.
@DarrenWS6 i dont plan on changing my cats, but if i ever have to, ill get magnaflow hiflow cats,. idk tho, ill go to the muffler shop and see what they got in stock.
@brad9899999 Well be aware the shop will try talking you out of it because of the difficult install job, they will tell you it will void warranty, trip CEL, run rough... blaa. With Magnaflow #94106 cats, you only need the rear sensors after the new cats, it will run and sound great.
@DarrenWS6 yea, i know theyll try to give me some stuff aobut it. oh well, like i said tho, i dont need em now. maybe some years down the road, but i just want a good sound you know just something better then stockk.
@NadineCline only a very slight rub on lower arms when reversing at full lock. Wearing excellent, 14,200 some , miles and a dime is just slightly taller than a tread. Love them except for the mpg drop lol.
Slowly Darren Slowly, just take those last two cats off and join the club lol, prolly commented on this set up already but w/e sounds sweet man. I've never noticed it till now but I love the stance of your truck, especially with the Monsters and Toyo combo.
@TherrienH haha, na man, I'll keep cats, prefer to be that way, cleaner sound and legal, less stinky too. yeah man the level & wheels make it right, now if only the door handles and bumpers were paint matched.
@DarrenWS6 Hey man I'm a Ford dealer down here in Texas and I can tell you from the experience of driving the '10s and '11s that you should wait until the new motors come out. They're unbelievable. 5.0, EcoBoost, and the 6.2. They're all monstrously more powerful than the current 5.4.
@CoachSpur That is what I have heard. The Raptor & 6.2L being a fast truck, I can only imagine the lighter weight regular F150 Supercrews & Supercabs with it. I will definitely be after a 6.2L if I get the change to get one.
@hugeeuge81287 If you watched the entire video.. you could tell that there are two Dynomax bullet mufflers, and that it is a full true dual system. My local exhaust guy fabbed all the piping and X pipe. I have about $670 invested into exhaust. Sold the Magnaflows for $60 to my buddy.
@37Jordank Neither, didn't touch them. Just cut the rears out. The front cats are pretty much a hi-flow setup. Very little catalyst in them, especially the '97 - '03 models.
@DarrenWS6 oh ok thats cool. if you ever go looking into other mufflers i recommend the flowmaster 10 series now that its legal. its pretty nice sounding! i got it done to my truck. once i get rid of my back cats ill be sure to put a vid up for you to see if you like
@DarrenWS6 cool man thanks! My thinking was they(Magnapacks) would be slightly quieter due to there bigger body than the bullets. You know your shit man, be cool!
@tuffnugly454 Na they're both the same sizes nearly just the Magnapack being only 2" longer. with the round body the length difference between the two isn't dramatically different. Enjoy
hey sounds awesome. i got a couple questions! i have an 07 150 and want to do pretty much same setup as you. my truck only has two stock cats. if i x pipe it and true dual it with the dynomax bullets will it still be as loud as this or does your (4 stock delete 2) mean it will be louder than my (2 stock none deleted)? and lastly, did the place you got your pipes done at make an x pipe or did you buy one and if so which one should i buy? some are cheap some are expensive. whats the difference!
the panel around the grill thats color matched to your truck how did you do it?

what do u think of magnapack i just got one?
jcena1986 1 year ago
@jcena1986 Excellent muffler, a little clearer toned than the Bullet, stainless steel, a better muffler for sure. Same volume.

Do you have any other mods done besides the chip and the exhaust?
1800partyboy 1 year ago
@1800partyboy Its a custom tuned Gryphon, not chip, both are very different, just mentioning. Performance mods im guessing you mean, 3" enclosed intake is the only other performance modification. The rest are pure cosmetic ( black painted head/fogs, smoked tails now, LEDs throughout, lots of small details.

dudeeee! i went with magnafow, i thought about it for awhile, and i ordered it tuesday, when it comes in, ill put it on, and make a video!

does ur gas pedal stick? i have an 04 and mine sticks bad
0113TMoney13 1 year ago
@0113TMoney13 It has never stuck. I would take it to the dealer as a power train issue. These throttle bodies are electronic not cable, so there is some issues with the accelerator recoil itself. Save your life and get it serviced asap.

Sounds Great.
Would this have a lower, more aggressive sound then a Flowmaster or Magnaflow, if it still had tha cats?
mlg6992 1 year ago
@mlg6992 Bullets are very deep/low toned, with cats. Even without they are, but the WOT trash would be wickedly louder than any tin can Flowmaster. Flowmaster come nothing as great as the Bullets sound. Only thing a Flowmaster is good for is a loud putting idle. Magnaflow is stainless and the same striahgt through concept, but are quieter than Bullets, unless you get their equivalent, the Magnapack 4" round body.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
Hey Darren got a question man, I want to redo my current super 44 setup for something that will give me less drone, longer lasting materials and most importantly better power. I just want to know if you think I should go with a single free flowing muffler, or true dual? I love the sound of true duals but don't want to lose any lowend tq, can you help me please? Thanks! and badass truck
rainstick27 1 year ago
@rainstick27 Unless you want high rpm power, true duals is not necessary. Look into the Magnaflow 14" body or Borla ProXS for stainless steel flow through high performance and a rich deep note.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 Ok, cool, so then would a SI/SO magnapack for instance, with a Y-pipe behind the muffler and dual out due the trick? I figure with the smaller muffler, it will be louder, but retain the single muffler low-end power.
rainstick27 1 year ago
@rainstick27 yeah man it will, a few people have done that to achieve the dual tails and single muffler tone and price. Search up member 08FX4 and you can hear it.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 I have heard that truck and it sounds pretty damn good! Last question, I promise lol, what size piping should I run behind the muffler with that setup? I have the 4.6l V8 by the way so I'm sure that plays a part in what pipe size I should use to retain low-end power.
rainstick27 1 year ago
@rainstick27 for a 3" single to a SI/DO muffler, 3" midpipe, 2.5" tails. true duals, 2.25" for full low end power.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 Thanks Darren, I appreciate it!

bad ass truck man. Whats the drone like at highway speeds?
yktlegend 1 year ago
@yktlegend It isn't too horrible, but its there, its noticeable. It is bareable to my for the most part.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 How do the bullets hold up there with the snow and stuff? im assuming that in the winter they put salt out on the roads and stuff like that? Just trying to get an idea of the durability
yktlegend 1 year ago
@yktlegend I have only had them since spring but I wash thoroughly under my truck in winter and wax under it so it says very well conditioned
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
bad ass truck man. what kind of rims do you have on there?

DarrenWS6 1 year ago
you think if i get this set up on my gmc sierra itd sound kinda the same? besides the fact that i got the 4.8 v8.
brad9899999 1 year ago
@brad9899999 It will be close, it will be deep toned but not as deep toned as the Ford Modular Triton V8 is since your block is a pushrod type, yours will be slightly more aggressive toned with more back wrap/crackle to it. It will sound pretty damn good, Bullets sound awesome on anything.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 yeah, i was hoping it would sound similar to yours. im having a hard time deciding on what i want, i dont like the crackle and pop noise, but with just about all the exhaust id have some of that. im looking at the cherrybomb glasspack, flowmaster 40, and now, the dynomax bullets, lol. when i make my decision, ill make a vid and post it as a responce on one of your vids, itll probally be 3 weeks or so before i get anything tho.
brad9899999 1 year ago
@brad9899999 Flowmaster is junk, and Glasspacks are worse than Flowmasters. Look into Magnaflow, or Borla mufflers. I don't think you would be dissapointed with the Borla XR1, loud, deep toned, should wrap much. If you want no wrap/crackle, and want it deep toned, look into the two exhausts I suggested above, look for a straight through design muffler.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 i was looking into magnaflow awhile back, but one of ma buddies got a truck exactly like mines with magnaflow and .. its too quiet for me., borla, on the other hand, i like alot. i just dont know how much itll cost me, the cheapest that i found was glasspacks, and if you type in chevy glasspack on here itll come up, i like how that one sounds, but also, type in 08 silverado borla., id LOVE for my truck to sound lie that. just with the 45degree pipes.
brad9899999 1 year ago
@brad9899999 Sorry been busy lately, not much internet time. I would never run glasspacks of any kind.. true mufflers only, durable and long lasting.Hi-flow cats is the best thing to do to open the exhaust sound more.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 i dont plan on changing my cats, but if i ever have to, ill get magnaflow hiflow cats,. idk tho, ill go to the muffler shop and see what they got in stock.
brad9899999 1 year ago
@brad9899999 Well be aware the shop will try talking you out of it because of the difficult install job, they will tell you it will void warranty, trip CEL, run rough... blaa. With Magnaflow #94106 cats, you only need the rear sensors after the new cats, it will run and sound great.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 yea, i know theyll try to give me some stuff aobut it. oh well, like i said tho, i dont need em now. maybe some years down the road, but i just want a good sound you know just something better then stockk.

Nice Truck! Want to do the same with 2010 fx4 any problems with tire rub also how are the MT wearing?
NadineCline 1 year ago
@NadineCline only a very slight rub on lower arms when reversing at full lock. Wearing excellent, 14,200 some , miles and a dime is just slightly taller than a tread. Love them except for the mpg drop lol.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
Slowly Darren Slowly, just take those last two cats off and join the club lol, prolly commented on this set up already but w/e sounds sweet man. I've never noticed it till now but I love the stance of your truck, especially with the Monsters and Toyo combo.
TherrienH 1 year ago
@TherrienH haha, na man, I'll keep cats, prefer to be that way, cleaner sound and legal, less stinky too. yeah man the level & wheels make it right, now if only the door handles and bumpers were paint matched.

you sir, have yourself a nice ass truck.

@funnyduck4 lol thank you. I'm actually wanting to trade it in for a brand new F150 Platinum.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 Hey man I'm a Ford dealer down here in Texas and I can tell you from the experience of driving the '10s and '11s that you should wait until the new motors come out. They're unbelievable. 5.0, EcoBoost, and the 6.2. They're all monstrously more powerful than the current 5.4.
CoachSpur 1 year ago
@CoachSpur That is what I have heard. The Raptor & 6.2L being a fast truck, I can only imagine the lighter weight regular F150 Supercrews & Supercabs with it. I will definitely be after a 6.2L if I get the change to get one.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
I have a few questions for you because I have the Flowmaster Super 44 Series muffler and its definitely not loud enough.
1. Did you get dual Dynomax mufflers or just a single split dual?
2. Where did you buy your setup from because I want the exact same thing?
3. How much did you pay for everything?
Also, did you have anything done to the Magnaflows, or were they stock Magnaflow mufflers?
Thanks a lot. Greatly appreciate any help you can give me!
hugeeuge81287 1 year ago
@hugeeuge81287 If you watched the entire video.. you could tell that there are two Dynomax bullet mufflers, and that it is a full true dual system. My local exhaust guy fabbed all the piping and X pipe. I have about $670 invested into exhaust. Sold the Magnaflows for $60 to my buddy.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
What mufflers should i put on my titan to get as loud as possible without doing str8 pipes.
andrew9454 1 year ago
@andrew9454 these mufflers, the 12" Bullets. Only 4 decibels quieter than straight pipe, and very deep toned.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
did u replace the front cats with high flow cats or stock?
37Jordank 1 year ago
@37Jordank Neither, didn't touch them. Just cut the rears out. The front cats are pretty much a hi-flow setup. Very little catalyst in them, especially the '97 - '03 models.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 oh ok thats cool. if you ever go looking into other mufflers i recommend the flowmaster 10 series now that its legal. its pretty nice sounding! i got it done to my truck. once i get rid of my back cats ill be sure to put a vid up for you to see if you like
37Jordank 1 year ago
@37Jordank I dislike the Flowmaster mufflers. Restrictive design.

Darren, would Magnapacks be right up there with you volumewise? Truck still sounds friggin nice dude!
I got 2 magnapacks and x pipe sitting in my closet waiting to be installed in the morning :)
tuffnugly454 1 year ago
@tuffnugly454 of coarse they will, they are almost the same thing except the magnapacks are stainless, and tighter packed for a deeper note.
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
@DarrenWS6 cool man thanks! My thinking was they(Magnapacks) would be slightly quieter due to there bigger body than the bullets. You know your shit man, be cool!
tuffnugly454 1 year ago
@tuffnugly454 Na they're both the same sizes nearly just the Magnapack being only 2" longer. with the round body the length difference between the two isn't dramatically different. Enjoy
DarrenWS6 1 year ago
hey sounds awesome. i got a couple questions! i have an 07 150 and want to do pretty much same setup as you. my truck only has two stock cats. if i x pipe it and true dual it with the dynomax bullets will it still be as loud as this or does your (4 stock delete 2) mean it will be louder than my (2 stock none deleted)? and lastly, did the place you got your pipes done at make an x pipe or did you buy one and if so which one should i buy? some are cheap some are expensive. whats the difference!
