@djbigdk HIya, The idea with VoiceLive 2 is that it caters for everything a vocalist could want and need in a variety of different styles. The amount of options and editability available make it possible for you to create your perfect vocal tone.
Hi ive just brought the voicelive 2 and now debaiting whether to swap it for the tc helicon voicelive touch, have u tried the touch and would you say you prefer it.cheers andy
@chipblock2 Hiya Andy, I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts. The VoiceLive Touch is designed with a completely different approach to that of the VoiceLive 2, boasting the most extensive looping options of our range. You won't have the same depth of editability with the VoiceLive Touch though.
@willxxxlife Hiya, The best thing to do would be to check out the VoiceLive 2 manual which is downloadable from the TC-Helicon website (for free!). If you go to page 32 there is a whole section dedicated to connecting your VoiceLive 2 to your computer. This should answer all your questions :). For further help, do get in touch with TC-Helicon's support team which are also contactable via the website.

@emiletoutou Hiya, The best thing to do in this specific case would be to get in touch with TC-Helicon's support team via the support link on our website. They are always happy to help and would be able to troubleshoot this with you.
@7linoJ Hiya, Probably the best way to do this is via USB. You can find all the details on how to do this in the Manual Addendum that is downloadable from the support section of TC-Helicon's website.
what do i need for efeects /vocal charters do i need this or something else i dont use peadas and i use the turning noobs and it needs to be easy to work with and i want some of the efeects to be auto tune, t pain,lo-fi,techno,alien,giant,monster,echo,skipping voice, fading voice, robot ,repeat, vocoder, cyborg, and more
@KINJ9 Hiya, I would suggest you start by trying out the VoiceLive 2 and the VoiceTone Synth at your local TC-Helicon dealer. These are probably the best place to start and you can do pretty much anything with the effects on offer.
@briankeith17 Hiya, You could send the track to the outputs of the Tascam and then back into the VoiceLive 2 on a stereo channel. Dependant on which unit you are using this is probably the easiest way. If your portable recorder has an insert loop you could use this but I am not aware if your unit specifically has this option.
Wow, this is the selling point for me. I wanted something I can plug into my Boss BR1200 multitrack recorder. I am really hoping it will do this nicely.
So, can I use this to record on my multitrack recorder?
You can definitely use this with your BR1200. Just plug the outputs of the VoiceLive 2 into a stereo channel on the Boss unit and you can record what you sing into the VoiceLive 2..
@tchelicon Wow man, thanks so much, really means so much to me. This machine is killer and sounds so good. Can't wait to get mine. Take Care, and thanks again for this valuable info.
The VoiceLive 2 is much newer and contains the adaptive tone control, tons of editable effects, hard tuning, guitar / midi / audio inputs for harmony generation with 8 voices of harmony. If you can, check them both out at TC Helicon's website to get an idea for what each one can do. There are also several other videos here on YouTube showing what each unit is capable of.
how would you compare the VL2 vs the orig Voicelive? there is certainly a price difference at this point...im just looking for some basic stuff for live use. Any DRAMATIC improvements over the original?
I would have to say that the VL 2 is a completely different animal to the original VoiceLive. There are many new features in the VL 2 such as 8 voices of harmony, guitar / midi and backing tracks can all be fed into the unit to guide the harmonies / adaptive tone control / over 200 presets (with pretty much every parameter editable)...and that's just the beginning :)
Unfortunately, no. There is only one mic input on the VoiceLive 2. Also, two seperate mics would need different gain set-ups. The only way around this would be to line into the VoiceLive 2 from a mixer or other device. However, I am unsure as to whether the results would be great as this unit is designed for only one mic at a time.
Hi Joey, Thank you for your help. Although I do use my Voicelive 2 seriously, I am actually wanting to use it with 2 mikes for a 'radio play'. It's going to be done on stage as though it is in a radio studio in the 1930's so we are using my Voicelive 2 to give an old fashioned radio sound to the mikes. We will try it this weekend and hope this solution may work. Thanks again. Mx
Im using a unit from another popular manufacture. I use an XLR splitter so another singer and I can use at the same time or alternate with backup harmonies and it works quite well for us. Would be interesting to find out if it does as well with the VoiceLive. barry
Yes, you can send one output of your soundcard to the VoiceLive 2 - However, it's best to just send the vocal track to the line input via a mono cable. Give me a shout back if you need any more info or help :).
Your set up vids show LIVE stuff...but not...ie ...coverting recorded tracks ...I have a recorded track I want to revamp...
I use garage band...but can use via logic...please give advice. I have use "organic" (self created vocal all my life....I like this new toy...I think my students will too. Love the possibilites...x
Can you tell me what soundcard you are using? Also, with the new update it is possible to use the USB to send tracks out to the VoiceLive 2 and bring them back into the DAW on a new track with the effects. If you have a soundcard with multiple outputs you can send one output to the voicelive 2 and record it back in on a new track by connecting the VoiceLive 2's output to the soundcard.
We are nearly arrived; Explain me how to finalize the track with effects, as I have set in cubase provided export settings I can create a new track with the effect that I have heard. I have tried in various ways but always export the same dry track.
I think the issue here is that you are exporting the track as opposed to re-recording the effects on a new track. When you have found the effects you like, make a new track in cubase and set the input to come from the VL2 then record it as a new track. VoiceLive 2 is not a VST as it is a hardware unit so you need to record the effects.
Hello Joey, perhaps we I succeeded, tell me if I do well. I attach two jack / XLR linking in and out of the VL2, in practice the signal goes and falls as if now goes by two separate machines. Strange but because the manual says that when we have USB voice L / R the mic inputs and guitar instrument in are disabled.
Hiya, It sounds like you have found one solution, but, are you saying that you are sending the mono out to the voice live 2 (this is fine) and then sending a monon signal back again?
I only ask as you say you are only using 2 cables. I would suggest you should send the mono signal out of the computer to the VoiceLive 2 but then send a stereo signal back in as you will be missing some of the details of the effects running in mono. What exact soundcard are you using? Also, are you connecting the VoiceLive 2 via USB aswell or just via audio?
I have connected the two outputs (stereoXLR) have two XLR and Jack inputs and so I could record a stereo signal. Confirm me that the procedure is right?
Could you explain how to add effect in a dry vocal track . In the video , you have recorded a dry vocal track and after you have add the effect . Can you tell me the ways you have used ?
When the DIGITAL IN parameter in the I/O tab is set to USB VOX L / INST(rument)R or S/PDIF
VOX L / INST R,VoiceLive 2 acts as an external harmony and effects processor fed by digital aux sends from your workstation. Send your vocal track via the left output and an instrument for harmony control via the right output. Monitoring is the same as above. In this mode, the MIC and GUITAR IN are disabled.
Hi , I have followed your instructions and now I can hear the voice with the effects, but not I have not succeeded in exporting the trace voice with the effects. I try to set various output but Exported the dry track and no the effect. I use Nuendo.
So - you have a dry vocal track and you want to put the effects on this and then save it is this correct? In Nuendo you will need to make a seperate track and record the VoiceLive 2 with the effects onto this track. VoiceLive 2 is working as an external effects processor in this example and does not function as a VST processor so you will need to record it in this way.
You have understood, I want to use as a processor of effects to apply to the dry track 2 live voice. But I did not understand if does it so by only via usb or I need another card sound, it is not very clear, also the example global konnek 4 you see tom lang processing in real time but if then I I would like to register that I found the effects that I like, I do not understand how to do. I need to explain the link I do once found the effect I want to register a new track with effects.
You can connect the VoiceLive 2 via USB to acheive this. If you are using a computer sequencer you can then record the effects you have found on to a new track. It is probably a good idea to download the manual from our website as it gives a complete run down on the process of connecting VoiceLive 2 to go through this process.
Thank you for your fast answers, the manual I have downloaded and live voice I bought and am using.
I do not understand if to apply the effects of VL 2 to the track dry entry I need another card sound and use the VL2 as a normal external effect (and not as a sound card) or I can do everything with voice live connected via USB.What Brian has indeed in this video that is starting from a track dry and then apply effects I can do only with the VL2 or I need another card sound? Thank you
Can you use Voice Live 2 in post production? Are you using special software to do this? Can you explain your process? Can I record straight into Sound Forge or Sony Vegas using the USB or do I still need an audio interface?
Hiya, If you mean can you use the VoiceLIve 2 as an audio interface in conjunction with Sony Vegas or other video editing software this shouldn't be an issue. You can connect the VoiceLive 2 via usb and choose it as your soundcard in your sound options menu.
PC-based DAW applications such as Cubase use a different type of driver to access USB hardware called ASIO. If you will be using one of these apps, you will need to install a WDM to ASIO wrapper such as ASIO4ALL in order for VoiceLive 2 to be recognized as an audio
can i connect this to the audio interface box for cubase
could i use first my condens mike ,mike preanp then the voice live 2 to interface or would it be better to use it like condensor , voice live then interface an do away with the preamp
There are several ways you can do this and one is not arguably better than the other. It is worth mentioning that the preamp in VoiceLive is very good. However, if you want to use your own preamp you can connect it into the voicelive 2 via the line input. THe choice is yours. I would suggest that it is part of the fun to experiment with different setups and find what works best for you.
I was thinking the same thing. He must have used it during tracking. I don't see how he could use this Post / After tracking the vocals without doing something like outing that track to the VL2 and back in again which would degrade the signal.
Your right, that part of the question did not get answered yet. To be more specific: Is it possible to use the Voice Live 2 to record directly into Sony Vegas or other software( through USB) with no effects recorded to the signal and then somehow add and or change the effects found on the voice live 2 latter on in post production- like plug-ins. I got the impression from the video that this was somehow possible, or was the voice recorded twice (raw and mixed) just for illustration purposes.
The answer is yes - with the next version of software coming in the next few weeks_. This will have 2 modes of output to your DAW (Vegas etc), one is full mix with effects and the other is dry voice left and guitar (if connected) right.
Thanks for sharing. I"m about to buy one but how can I use this without playing guitar or keyboard. In another word how can I use this with a DJ playing a mix of my song without a vocal track and then I sing on top of it using voicelive2? Thanks
Easy! You can feed the mix of your backing track into the aux in of the VoiceLive 2 and it will harmonise you using the chords of your backing track :).
It does come with effects which you can use for the guitar. As far as using the vocal effects for guitar - you could try it, but we can't make any promises as to what the results would be. VoiceLive 2 was specifically designed to react to vocals.

Hiya,
Easy! You can feed the mix of your backing track into the aux in of the VoiceLive 2 and it will harmonise you using the chords of your backing track :).

Could this be also use as for an Electric Guitar as effects pedal?

Hiya,
It does come with effects which you can use for the guitar. As far as using the vocal effects for guitar - you could try it, but we can't make any promises as to what the results would be. VoiceLive 2 was specifically designed to react to vocals.

Autotune is being overused in hip hop these days. I like what you're doing with that effect though.
