back in the 70,s i listen to the quo alot on fm radio, good hard rock wasn't played on am radio back then. also at a concert in indianapolis dec. 1974 i saw a show that had status quo , rush and kiss. my ticket cost a whole 5 dollars
@stupot37 during the golden age of hard rock (1970's) most people thought black sabbath, zepplin and ac dc were the kings.however true hard rock fans knew better.i don't know why the quo never made it big in the states.on of the most overlook bands of alltime.my first 2 albums i bought were status quo on the level and foghat energized
Nice video, Quo today are for the people at the retirement house. Quo without Lancaster and Coghlan are sad too see and hear. Rossi / Francis are probebly GAY.
been a Quo fan for ever!! it was sad and unfortunate what they did to Alan.... from what i can gather, he is still bitter about it to this day. maybe John saw the light and got out while the getting was good? John was a far better drummer and the band lost some of it's "feel" once he departed.
Oh Yeah Classic Sooooo glad the guys didn't end it here So many more great tunes since. Green. The Oriental. In The army now, Red Sky , I could go on and on
No thats not excactly right. There is one AC30 speaker kept in a wooden box behind the backline, and Vox heads/controls mounted into white marshall amp heads. You can tell because they are chrome fronted and have the chicken head pointers. Get Rick Parfitt's rythm method DVD, it shows all about the backline it much greater detail that i just said.
rhino and matt great musicians /wat shit /that dick rhino when he went in to quo in 86 /i throught fuck is he in quo are big country /hes shit /wat songs does he sing own is own with quo /oh i know none / alan lancaster number 1
Yeah, he was not a bad drummer at all, really. Just compared to John Coghlan, he had way less power and did not have the same heavy sound and frantic fills that John had. He was solid though.
@GuitarGuy5000000000 pete helped them through a difficult period, and done bloody well to fill in when john left, i prefer pete to john, many of you may disagree, but i just prefered his sound, and he was great in this concert, live aid, and at the nec 82
no comparison alan lancaster and the mad turk was the engine room on so many tracks . the new lads aint bad but lack the soul i think its an age thing
on the vid looking out over the crowd, you"ll see a end of the road flag being waved,me and my mate were just to the right of the guy holding it.got up on my mates shoulder to try to get on film as you do,and got a steak and kidney pie in the back of me head for my trouble!
must also mean you didn't like andy or pete then because they technically aren't real quo neither, as rick has said there was something magical about the ff but there is something magical about the new line up matt is by far the best quo drummer they have had
I was there, wasn't gonna miss that for the world. They said they were crap that day, but they were amazing, they were so up for it. Fantastic day. I remember Gary Glitter came on and the plastic bottles that started flying towards the stage was a sight to behold!
amazing i was only 1 when they did this i went my first gig in 86 at just 3 years old and now 21 years later i am still rockin they are the best and my dad was at this gig
I hope quo back to America one more time

When Status Quo lost Alan Lancaster, their original bassist, they lost a lot of their energy.

They still use Vox Amps. They route into a Voxamp in the backline and then use Marshall to amplify the sound
MrNorthernbloke 2 years ago
QUO is the best album they have ever done - It would be good if they did Slow Train live as that was the best song on the album in my opinion.

theres something i never knew they used vox amps ,always thought it was marshall

My favourite Quo song and this one has Alan Lancaster written all over it. He was the only true rocker in that band.

Pete Kircher is the name of the drummer.

@GuitarGuy5000000000 people complain about his lack of skill and whatever but on the songs he played he really slammed down that foot pedal.
