  • Everyones talking junk about how he drove.... It was his first time ever driving the car, cut him some slack. I haven't met one person who can jump into a strange/new car and drive it perfectly the first time. On another note - 11.5's is hauling ass especially with the granny shifting. Its bad as hell that car has the potential to push 8's.

  • What a highly overpriced piece of shit. I can't believe that a Mustang Ford "optimized for drag racing" only ran an 11.52 with a really high mile an hour though? Either that ass can't drive or that thing is a flaming turd. My bet is that it is overpriced junk just like everything Ford makes..........that's sad that it has a detuned engine from a real Cobra.

  • Why would anyone want a car that can't make actual horsepower. The only way ford can ever make horsepower is to put a supercharger on it. Go buy a Challenger Drag Pak and get real raw true american horespower. Even Don Garlits and Jeg Coughlin JR agree.

  • @ftfd1209 well if thats the case then how did the 2010 mustang beat the camaro and the challenger in both quarter mile AND slalom.....its naturally aspirated.... what difference does it make if it has a supercharger or not... i give kudos to ford building a car that the customers have been asking for for many years.

  • wow my cousin has a C5 with bolt ons but whenever we line up my 03 Mach Won kills him everytime haha. And the Cobra Jet wasnt designed for Corners its set up for drag if you know anything about cars or enough common sense to listen to the damn video haha.

  • Correct, Cobra Frank. Several other Mustangs similarly set up are turning 10 flat to high 9's at around that MPH. And yeah, his shifting is similar to my maiden auntie. It's almost like the car belonged to someone else and he was shifting easy so he wouldn't break anything. D'ya think?

    The STOCK Nissan GTR 1/4 can't do the 1/4 in that time. Hell even the STillen GTR can only do the 1/4 mile in 11 seconds...

  • I Agree and it AWD Vs RWD throw the Nizmo 370 at the CJ and see what happens... The Z will get stomped. Pit the Nizmo 370 against a Roush 427R it gets stomped on the track to.

    The VQ35 and VQ37 is a european design engine. It's not even true J-Spec.

    Truth is must Toyota, Nissan, Honda, and Euro cars are built and designed in the US.

    It's the wave of the future. Ford Is just combine the tech into a hyrid.

  • No a CJ isn't highly modded. You buy the CJ that way. Thats the whole point of the CJ, its BUILT just like that. Did you even bother to watch the video? Modded Mustangs are well known to be in the 6's... in fact I think the current drag champ is a Mustang...

  • Take a view worldwide and Look a little further east into Japan..GTR's there rip into the 6's like a walk in the park with just a 2.6L engine. Even though I was born in the USA, I'm not like the regular American fanboy that stick my head in my ass and call myself "the patriotic American that supports the Big 3 no matter what". I examine and appreciate cars from all over the world that are engineered on a high level and I give full respect to the Japs for doing that.

  • The 09 GTR is nothing but a Skyline lovers wet dream. Look at the stats you have to be rolling in do just to build one. It's would almost be like build a Ferrari all the BS you have to do just to get it to run right.

  • Stock out of the box the CJ is fast if driven correctly. How fast one goes equates on how much money one spends. That is how those 2.6's or other mini motors get into the 6's...lotsa money. Put apples to apples on dollars spent and then compare.

You take a Mustang and put it against it with the same amount of money you put into that high priced GT-R and the GT-R gets murdered bro. The Mustang and Camaro's will always be kinds of the 10.5 class. I dont think anyone has been able to steal that from them. The Mustang has actually proved so many people wrong because they made the mustang to be different than anyone else's name brand cars! Mustangs run alone!

And in NHRA the Funny car class top driver right now is Ashley Force which drives a mustang. But we all know those engines aren't Ford engines lol. There built race engnines with no logo but whomever your buying them from.

    Now the 2010 is DEEP into the 9's.... faster than the Venom 1000 viper (and a lot less money too, plus you don't have to wait almost 2 years for Hennessey to do his thing, that requires the car to go back 4 or 5 times due to poor part fittings).

    130mph near the end of 4th gear doesnt seem that short.

    no way that engine has a lot less than 500bhp, and if im not mistaken that sure looks like the intake setup on the 540hp 2010' or KR.

    the tires, suspension, weight and transmission can only explain so much about the trap speed.

    but not how it out trapped it to that extent while being so far down on power.

    "425" oem hp does not equal 130mph trap,

    no matter what tires and suspension you have on your mustang.

    "425" can equal a sub11.5 with the traction that stang had off the line, but in that car 425hp can not equal 130mph.

  • its not all about power, its about how u put it down and IF you can put it all down. 700lbs less makes this stang around 3000lbs with 420hp....if u can plant it all, those times are very much possible. that's like putting 400hp in a Rx8...you would be surprised by what it could do

    drag-tuned suspension and drag radials of that size and width, will make a huge difference. The GT500 is only as slow as it is b/c with the suspension it has, it has absolutely no chance of putting all its power to the ground. the Cobra Jet on the other hand, caught traction immediately and put every bit of its power to use, thus the 11.5 ET. Its probably faster than that with a better driver. Suspension and tires are critical in drag

WOW! how does that make sense? 420hp vs. 540hp 130mph vs. 119mph how do you explain that with your suspension and tires? you shouldnt be so sure of yourself. BS numbers and BS reasons!
