I've traveled a lot of places as a young man...including East Germany, West Germany, a bunch of European countries....and so far out of this series....

I don't really see anything wierd...in fact, looks like a fun trip. Girls are cute and every seems honest and friendly.

I do see that they are trying to present their bad economy in a good light....but there are many countries with bad economies.

I am American and have also been to North Korea. Mr. Lee was also my guide. The night he took me out on the town I tried to pay the 40 euros for the karaoke bill and booze and he violently lunged at me. He accused me of offending Korean sensibilities. Two of the other North Koreans held him back and finally got him to calm down. He is a feisty fellow, but a good dude. He actually leads tours with Americans almost every week during the summer in conjunction with Koryo tours.

@jadeyes914 Yes actually it was pretty much the same thing. Except they let us take more pictures and videos than the guys in the documentary. Basically the guys taking you around having nothing to gain from showing you around. If they are suspected of anything or if you do something bad and they tell you not to they can get thrown in jail. They basically hint at this when you get there. If you are nice and ask before you take pictures they will usually let you photograph most things.

@jadeyes914 One guy took a picture of soldiers marching and they made him delete it. They even said we can get in a lot of trouble while you will just be deported. I think acting like a dick there is more self serving than anything else.

i checked the official north korea website and they only hold tours in august and october. these tours only last for about a week, so they only have 2 weeks worth of tours in an entire year. americans can only go to the october tour.
