Actually you are kinda amazing here, the point is that you MUST turn on the camera, and MUST give youre ALL one time, not three, but i think you can make 50 easy!
I could do 100 push ups when I was 16. I used to do 400-500 reps a day at that time. Now I'm 21 and have the wrists of a 45 year old. You don't have to trust me on this one, but it's really, really not worth it. And besides, if you don't keep up the training you're gonna fall back to 30-40 reps in no-time. My advice is always to move to a harder variation of an exercise rather than trying to do an astronomical number of reps. You're gonna get a lot stronger this way and have less injury chances.
@kanshiketsu89 wow 400 - 500 reps a day seems too much!!! I do push ups every other day, from 60 - 160 reps, depending on the workout.
I think I'm going to go back to my weight training. I haven't done my deadlift for a while and I was able to hit 180 lbs last time (which is 1.5 of my bodyweight). Feel that when I do deadlift, squat, military press - I feel stronger in others too.
Yeah, and it was too much. What can you do, I was young and stupid. Didn't even warm up before exercising. Every one or two hours I just dropped on the floor and did 70-100 reps + 50 sit ups. I was afraid that your routine may be as stupid as mine was, but 60-160 every other day is smart and enough. Guess that girls are smarter when it comes to knowing some limits... :P And damn, lifting 1.5 of your own bodyweight sure is something... Respect. What's your PB in push ups?
@kanshiketsu89 in the class setting, I did 54. in my living room, I did 45 a few days ago. About 100 push ups goal, I think this might be a one time thing, not that I will continuously hit 100 after I reach the goal. What will be most likely to happen is that I hope that I can do 100 consecutive good form push ups, go back to my old routine (mixed martial arts + crossfit), and will have a reference of what I'm capable of. If in the future, I can consistently hit 40 - 60, I will be happy :)
Curious if the pause and rest with butt in the air really makes this an exhaustion test.. Not trying to give you a hard time I am just really curious. Is that 'allowed'?
@cashpath probably not :P, the challenge is 100 consecutive without pause so I guess I kind of cheat plus I did 41 earlier (though don't remember if I had my butt up in the air or not but I think I did pause). Maybe I'll do it again before I move on to any week.
@CuppaWorkout In my opinion this is exactly what i call an exhaustion test ,and believe or not but pausing/resting between pushups is not cheating it simply give you a chance to exhaust yourself even more ;)
@CuppaWorkout alright, I figured as much... Keep up the good work though.. your pushups look very solid, nice form, better than most people let alone women :)
@cashpath I learned push ups from my kickboxing training. Every time I did push ups, his voice is kind of in my head (yelling :))., He always said "c'mon chest briefly to the ground, all the way up, all the way down, don't push up like a girl, do it like a woman" lol....he also told me that if I didn't do that, might as well do it on my knees instead on my toes. I should thank him for teaching me and encourage us to do it this way :)
@CuppaWorkout your very welcome..always like to see women step up and not be afraid to do what guys do...more women need to develop this identity and not take no crap from guys who think they are their "bitches" so to speak...i am a guy and i rebel against that shit...keep doing what your doing.
Nice work! I bet I can't do that many
