I have a question. Since Atlanta Hartfield International Airport's current terminal was built in 1980 how is it that the escalators in the terminal are Montgomery Twinkie-M and not Globe and Parallelogram?
Question. Do you need to have a ticket to ride this train? I mean, is there like a T.S.A officer that checks for boarding passes or can you simply drive up to any staion and just ride it for fun?
Neat, I moved to west palm beach a month before this was completed; this is my first time seeing the skytran in action. It makes me wonder what they are using the old car rental space for now that it moved from near the terminal area?
@musicfreakcc Good Point. I have a flight Wed and I was wondering If I had time to ride these before the flight. My flight is at 6:10AM and I plan on getting to the airport at 4:30Am. Should that be enough time to access and fully ride these and also get to my flight on time?
@SimComProductions Because people would get confused and could potientally get lost. This way people are on one platform and can easily move one way to another
They are crossing over upon arrival verses crossing over upon departure. This is VERY common with subways and light rail and in this case a people mover. If a train was at the station this particular train would have pulled straight in and then has it headed back to ATL it would have crossed over.
That is such a fast train!!!!! Probably fast as a metro or subway. Phoenix Airport is getting their own skytrain like this one here in Atlanta Airport. The one in Phoenix Airport is gonna have Bombardier Innovia vehicles which is going to be a very very fast train. DFW Airport has those same vehicles with their skylink train, and i can tell u, it is very fast.
Is this the one that goes to the Rental Car parking lot? When did this open because when I look at google maps it always shows that they working on finishing it at the other end of I-85.
@300man04 This is the new people mover, actually. I haven't been to Atlanta and this video makes me want to fly to Atlanta to check out Downtown Atlanta.

Gotta love technology. Nice retake. That call button is a very smart idea. Sure beats the 30 minute wait at EWR for off-peak monorail trains. Very weird door chime though. Not so sure I like that one. Also sounds like the timing on the recordings needs work. But not bad. Very cool to see a foreign APM.
Why do those maintenance trains look like shunter diesels?

after the rental car center the train willgo in a tunnel where does the tunnel take you when you are still on the train?
Luma645 10 months ago
@Luma645 The train simply reverses direction and heads back towards the main terminal.

@797fan No - this particular train is in the non-sterile section of the airport.

Why don't they use the doors to the right of the station when you are arriving at the station?

@SimComProductions I don't know. I guess the platform is there in case they decide to expand.

It looks like an elevator because the doors are near the train itself. But the difference is that it goes left and right, not up and down! LOL!
