  • This is briliant!

    Thanks for the upload.

  • reminds me of the Failure of Stauffenberge on operation Valkyrie to assassinate Adolf Hitler...

most of the plotters poison or shot themselves before any SS guard captured them..

    :)

  • lol "it was an honor working with you"

  • @jzee95 Salt?

  • @IJdogg3 Rock salt! Hurts like hell.

  • Whats that white power thing that he puts in that guy's eye ??

  • 6:31

Nero: are you planning to kill me?

look at the face of the fat bald man- he is perspiring too much >_<

  • Were there ANY sane people back then? Insanity must have been the norm.

  • the senate disliked this video :(

  • I love how the greatest Emperors were usually not of Royal decent (Vespacian, Trajan, Hadrian, Constantine) and the worst being of Royal decent (Tiberius, Caligula, Nero, Commodus).

  • @JSoulstorm well that’s what happens if you tell a teenage boy it's his destiny to rule the world

  • It's okay guys I'll just stab him, I will walk up to him and just stab him!

  • Its Nero claudius Caesar augustus germanicus :)

  • Is nero and Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus or Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus are the same?????! CAN U TELL ME WHO IS CLAUDIOS??? PLS REPLY:)))))

  • If only somebody could have introduced ideas like National Debt with implications of buying investment in the nation's future!

From what is written about him, Nero was far nastier than the idealistic hippy shown here. He enjoyed trawling the streets with mates fighting and raping. He had enemies covered in pitch and burnt alive to light his parties. He was not a nice boy.

  • Seneca was a loyal tutor.

  • when he drew the dagger, I could no longer hear him for sheer terror

  • the camerawork of this documentary is ... I don't have words for it in this language.

    Exelcior

  • a man to be avoided at all times 3:30

  • a man to be avoided at all times

  • Tigellinus is a bloody good fighter

  • One person was unfortunate enough to have dinner at Piso's...

  • This show strongly hints that Seneca could be Nero's father. Given what a slut Agrippina was, this is certainly possible.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft no his true father was Gnaeus domitius Ahenobarbus and was the adoptive son of claudius

  • @Brillan8 He was already Claudius's grea-nephew. He did have Augustine blood in him

  • @TheLastBrainLeft I may be thinking of someone else but didn’t Seneca say it was immoral to have sex for any reason besides procreation.... also I would have Nero would have ended up a bit smarter if that was the case

  • 2:18 too bad senecca because the man you love is going to murder you...

  • "hey,go get my knife,clean it,sharpen it,really sharp,now go!"

LMAO that guys face is like"wtf is going on?"

  • LOL, that slave ran off and told the emperor. Fucking tattle tale.

  • Nero was not the bad guy.

  • Hey isn't this guy from Tron:Legacy? That guy at the club?

  • @ArguriosRS

Yup!! He played Castor the crazy owner of the End of Line club!!

    XDDD

  • I LOVE LOVE THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS NERO

  • @Gingie4life

    I know....Isn't Michael Sheen fantastic!!

  • Were the Romans " good people " we can ever relate to, or just another human anthill that simply knew how to keep itself ticking? When it came to people- politics and the physics of society, they seem Premier League. But they were still barbaric savages to me.

  • @Noodles37UK I see both good and evil in the ancient Roman Empire. Not unlike a lot of nations or governments, both ancient and modern.

  • @Stardweller1 I suppose so. When I read about the work of a lot of the better Emperors, my faith in human nature is reassured. I'm seeing more people stand up for Nero too.

  • @Noodles37UK Nero was often blamed for starting the fire in Rome. We now know that this was a lie. He was innocent of this.

That said, he's still not at all a man to be admired. While he may have been falsly accused, he also himself falsly accused others (specifically the Christians) of starting that fire. And that was only one of the many things for which he is guilty. In his case, I do agree with you about being a barbaric savage. Thankfully, he was just one emperor.

  • @Stardweller1 "Thankfully, he was just one emperor" thank God all the others where perfectly al right (sarcasm)

  • @255ad No, they weren't. Not all of them were that bad, though, either. That's the thing about emperors (as well as king, presidents, and pretty much any other kind of ruler): they're human. And, being human, they're susceptible to either good or evil, as are pretty much all humans.

  • @Stardweller1 I agree with you for the most part except for the "president" bit they generally have to have some political ability compared to kings and emperors who can just get in on berth

  • @255ad True, but even though they usually get in on political ability I have found throughout the history of my country that once they have been sworn into office they vary in their abilities (or perhaps tendencies?) to make either good or bad decisions. It's one of the difficulties of democracy: you can still end up with a less-than-ideal leader, and this time you have to deal with the knowledge that it was you who put them in leadership (but I still like democracy anyway).

  • "we are running out of money sir"

    Obama: well raise taxes

    "we have sir"

    Obama: Well DOUBLE THEM!!!!!

Politicians have always been this crazy I see!

  • @Quiksilver209 Much crazier now. At least Nero acquired the money somehow, he didn't spend money he didn't have. Case in point, the U.S. is the most indebted nation in the world

  • @Quiksilver209 except he has never said he'd raise taxes. 95% of working families got a tax cut. Thats just trolling from the faux news machine. Anyways, this is a video about how crazy nero is, not whether you like obama or not

  • 0:23 Clint Eastwood

  • They should have just kicked his head in.

  • Metellu's was about tell us about Scaevinus's dagger!

Excellent acting from every actor, i really enjoyed Seneca, Tigellinus and the senators aswell, but Michael Sheen steals the show.

  • Stupid old guy, he won't murder the man he loves. Sadly Nero had no trouble getting rid of him.

  • this video makes him seem like a nice guy

  • @Rainbowshow Every movie about anything is biased meaning having a good guy or bad guy or sides. But in reality its not that black and white as Hollywood would have you believe. You are right, in any case, it does make him look like the good guy; mainly because he tried to help out the poor after the fires by taking from the wealthy, and from the wealthy temples, so naturally the wealthy would try to get rid of him and make him look bad; even if it means re-writing history to benefit them.

  • @MegaVenom777

that's michael sheen.. he played tony blair in THE QUEEN and aro volturi in NEW MOON(: oh and lucius in underworld: rise of th lycans ^^

  • It all began with Carter, actually you dipshit.

  • Maan. Schools usually teach like: "Nero was a mad man. Period" And so I considered him to be before I watched this video and studied on my own.

  • I agree with @bonzaibb12

Seriously dude 2 years of Obama is nothing the real shit hasn't hit the fan yet but I will admit right now with Obama we are pretty much stuck in the middle of shit creek in a tiny ass canoe without a paddle. Btw, Lay off blaming Bush. All this shit goes back to the times of Clinton, and yeah I love Glenn Beck but I didn't need him to figure that one out.

  • @Sasy1011 First, anyone who loves Glenn Beck (who is a moronic, bloated, piece of propaganda-spewing shit) doesn't know the ass's end of the true state of politics.

Yes, don't blame Bush....It all began with Clinton. Shut the hell up. Either Republican or Democrat they both serve money, lobbyists, banks and the military machine...and that's what the dumbass 'grass-roots' movements and and clown pundits won't admit...because they serve the same master in turn. that goes for whoever you elect.

  • @LeonidasIII300

Well put! the Rich and powerful made sure we are to believe we live in a democracy. When in reality they control the Government through money. Buying any law and anything they please. Hiding behind the mask of freedom. People need to wake up and see the truth. The original Government that was supposed to "serve the people" is now only serving the very few Elite! Sad nobody has any balls left to say or do anything about it...fear of change keeps us divided? So we we eat the BS!!

  • Obama has so many similarities to Nero. We are in serious trouble.

  • @bonzaibb12 Your wrong, I think Bush was a maniac. To think that he missed up the economy and started two endless wars.

  • @crrostro Two endless wars. Oh, this was posted 2 months ago. Probably still does not know.

  • @bonzaibb12

    No he doesn't.

    Lay off the Glenn Beck.

  • @bonzaibb12 How so? Dose he rave the a mad man? Dose he wage illegal warfare? Dose persecute people who don't believe what he dose?

  • dang nero's a fag

  • @GetUpAndTryAgain A lot of romans then were

  • Better... Nero is more of what I expected.

  • I love the actor who plays Nero!

  • @MegaVenom777 Michael Sheen

  • @MegaVenom777 He is very talented, Michael Sheen

  • @MegaVenom777: That would be Michael Sheen. He also played Lucien in 'Underworld', and Tony Blair in 'The Queen'.

  • @MegaVenom777

His name is Micheal Sheen :)

  • @MegaVenom777 ...Michael Sheen!

  • @MegaVenom777 He also played David Frost in Frost/Nixon. Michael Sheen, i believe?
