I love this song so much, I also remember seeing him live about seven years ago and he seems to only be getting better and better. I would love to see this in person.
I've been a fan for six years. He can hit any note live that he can in the studio, in fact some notes he can hit much better live. The song doesn't sound exactly the same because he likes to change it up to avoid becoming a musical drone. That's just one of the best things about him =)
@chibimaru8 nope...he sings the high A# in the last chorus just for doubters like you who don't realize he just changes it up to keep it fresh and give it more depth
Jason should have been nominated for best vocal or song of the year for this song because not only does this song showcase his vocal range but the message of the song is deep!!!

hey i was wondering if he gave a more in depth preface about this song. when i commented somewhere else asking if anyone knew more of a background story they gave pretty obvious or already known facts, such as his parents divorcing when he was young... yeah... does anyone know anything deeper?
Besides the obvious likes you said, all I know is that his family (and parents) were in the audience at this show and right before he started playing he said he would like to decicate it to them and that they had requested it. So whatever it is, I think it means so much more than any of his other songs.
Ahhhhhh Damn April 18th is my birthday =( If only I knew he was playing that day I would do anything. Either way he's great, Maybe next time?

He was nominated for song of the year (for I'm Yours) as well as two other grammys but he didn't win any of them.
