Many safety rules broken here: chalks should always be under wheels when starting. Even then, pull prop away from aircraft's tendency toward forward motion of travel when the engine kicks over. When the prop starts, walk back away from the plane, not just clear of the spinning prop. Also - do not attempt a takeoff without wings. ;-)

@Northside777 - first they are called chocks, not chalks. Second some of the best self launching sailplanes use 2 stroke engines, they are German made and cost upwards or $80k.

This is a good example of what NOT to do when hand starting a prop driven aircraft,,,ALWAYS stand BEHIND the direction of travel, if that plane had been at full rpm when started,,,,that guy would have been minced,,,,,we all saw it lurch forward when it did start, and that was at IDLE,, this guy is awesomely lucky,

This chap is stupid what a Muppet, The plane is on a slope, You should never ever start an aircraft without chocks, thank God he's NOT in the UK.
