A farmer here in eastern Washington had one of these tractors in the 80's/90's. I dunno how the heck he got a hold of it. But it was a badass machine. In it's day it was comparable with our Steiger and the Canadian's Versatile tractors.

The Belarus is a Russian designed and manufactured machine. The first showed up in north america in the 70's. Fairly simple, took maintenance to keep working, some hard times getting parts, smoked alot by comparison when cold or pulling hard. Harder to maintain due to items like no spin on oil filters, pneumatic starting, air brakes, and air cooling on some models, so you had to use a different mindset, tighter fenders that were easier to fill with mud etc. Reason we use Versatiles.

@MrMH1234567 The Belarus is not a russian. Belorussia is a different country. Russia not equal wit Soviet Union. Unfortunately Belorussia was a part of Soviet Union when Beloruses was manufactured in Minsk as MTZ (Minsky Tractor Zavod(factory).

The Kirovetz (K700 on picture) was made in Kirovsky Traktor Zavod (Leningrad or Sr.Petersburg) were the famous "T" tanks were manufactured. Kirov was a Kommunist Leader.

@hajdul Good details. In the USA we think of the tractor lines more along the line of the dealer network. John Deere is Deere, New Holland and Agco is Agco regardless of the country or company that manufactured them. So as one around when they showed up in the 70's we think more of the Belarus sign in front of the dealership a. We did know that machines came from multiple factories and maybe different companies that were banded together as a complete product line to compete here.

I owned one years ago. I could do 200 acres a day with it on double shift. Used something like 17 gallons of diesel an hour working and tractors here used about 22 gallons an hr. It had air brakes all round and here we had only one central brake on the drive line. It also had a centrifuge oil cleaner the kept the oil clean all the time. Many good thing about them but the services was poor. Parts where hard to get where I was and I lost a lot of time and crop due to that. Other than that was good
