First of all, Sakharine was a minor character in the comic books, not the main antagonist, and the Bird Brothers owned Marlinspike Hall. Not sure why Speilberg messed up the plot.

I loved to watch the series as a kid. I didn't want to see the movie though. But the day my sister and my dad were going to see it I thought I'd just go with'em, since I had nothing better to do. And I figured everyone would be talking about it anyway. And wow, it was one of THE greatest movies I've ever seen.

I waited for this movie for two years. Saw it opening night and couldn't be more thrilled! Can't wait to see it again. It's made alot of money abroad...makes me almost ashamed to be an American, because it's not doing as well over here. I have all the books and I've read them countless times. This movie was the best thing this Christmas. The airplane scene was awesome. When Tintins'' head is just inches away from the propeller! It is so hilarious. And the boat scene and the all the others. I was so into the movie, I didn't realize I was out of popcorn!

I saw it 2 days ago and it was INCREDIBLE. Slow at first, but that was to establish the characters and build up the story. Once it got going it didnt stop. That scene with the motorbike (at the end of the trailer) took my breath away.

You mean like American Pop? but you glad this movie doesn't cross into the uncanny valley? it earned postive early reviews in Europe since it's premiering in France/Germany/Belguim and the UK to this month and finally in the US in December. You glad uncanny valley has been defeated in Mocap just like Avatar and Rise of the Apes did? they all conquered the dead-eye effect which creeps you out. you familar with the character? a very Indiana Jones-like character since 1928.

@Johnlindsey289 I like American Pop better, because it's traditionally animated. I mean, if your'e trying to make it this realistic, I just don't see the point of not making it real. But, yeah, glad it doesn't look as bad as previous motion capture CGI. I'm sure it will be a good movie, because it looks like they worked hard on it. I wouldn't say uncanny valley has been defeated though. Even in Apes, it was still there for me, because Dead Eye wasn't the only issue. There is just a general look.

I guessed so (after John Williams composed the music for 20 movies which were directed by Spielberg) but its rare that the actual score of the movie is used in the trailer because most at the time the trailer gets released way before the movie score is written.

"from 2 of the greatest story tellers of our time"...that is bullshit misleading...Peter Jackson & Spielberg are great film makers ..not story tellers, most of the films they made are based on stories created by other people...even if they were to say 2 of the greatest film makers...that would face heavy criticism..because they are powerful film makers out there...it is what i did not like about this trailer..other than that it is a good trailer, oh and the bike wheel clip at the end was wicked!

But yeah, exactly, British works better than American, I would say. Plus it gives the film more of a European feel that way. The characters are most popular in Europe after all.
