Brooke was jealous of Ridge dating her sister Donna so she chased after Ridge again. Nick was heartbroken, got drunk and ended up sleeping with Bridget. Brooke found out and left Nick (supposedly for good) to be with Ridge again (her true destineeeee). That's why Nick wasn't with Brooke anymore.
