does it still start up perfectly because i know a couple of people that have had piaggio vespas n they have to have about 2-4 button pushes in the mornings your lucky if yours is still perfect :)
Mine always starts on the first button push, even on cold days after sitting in the garage for a few days. I am still as impressed by this little machine as the day I bought it.
Not sure if you are still monitoring this, but I had a couple of questions for you.
I've been looking into getting either a scooter or motorcycle lately mostly due to the high gas prices. Scooters mainly because I've never even driven a motorcycle and it seems easier to start off on a scooter.
I have a chance to buy a 2006 LX150 like yours but I had a question. My commute is about 10 miles a day and for the most part it stay around 40 mph or so, but at one point it goes up to about 50. How does the scooter handle around 50-55mph?
It runs fine at 50. You just won't have much left to go faster if you have to. I can't say for sure - you'll have to judge for yourself, but if it's a short stretch, you'll probably be OK.
It's a 2006. The color was available then. I don't know why it isn't now. When I bought it, I actually didn't care about the color. I just grabbed it because it was available. It's a great scooter, and the color has grown on me.
Nice scooter! I just purchased an S 150 today. I have wanted a Vespa for years and finally brought one home. I hope you are enjoying your scooter. Thanks for posting the video!
Not wanting to rely on public transportation or rides from friends anymore, I was about to give into buying a car when I saw someone ride down the road in a Vespa today. What's the mileage like on the 150? Like you, I'm a big guy, too.
This particular model is advertised at 72 MPG. Last time I actually measured for myself it came in at 65. I have since put a windscreen on it and my guess is that will actually help a little. If you are in an urban area and don't need highway speeds, seriously consider a 50cc model. Some of them get close to 100 MPG and can go 35-40 MPH. Test it out first of course.
And unfortunately it seems gas prices will go up significantly all through the spring and summer. The scooter is a blast to ride, easy to operate, and it only cost me $4.72 to fill it the other day. Drawbacks: not good for passengers; don't know what to do in the rain; you feel every bump in the road. Otherwise, it's just great.
mom's getting me one as a graduation present, I'm so excited

Where are the brakes on the vespa?
BigCinDallas 3 years ago
Hand brakes. Left is rear, right is front. One of the best features of this Vespa is the brakes. They are excellent.
NJLouis66 3 years ago
Oh, thats tight! Are you really gonna ride that around your town? That would be cool! I've never seen one of those before.

The green machine has been a great car for me. But yes, this is a welcome change. Ask me again in winter if I still think that though... :)
