  • @Muamarz :D funny why do you think all austrians are tall i am austrian myself

  • The most beautiful man in the world.

  • Does anyone know how many languages he can actually speak?

    German, English, Italian..?

    Perhaps French? Pls reply :=)

  • @Beakle i think he speaks english, french and german fluently, apparently he said in an interview he doesnt actually speak italian, he had the lines he needed to say translated for him and someone helped him with the italian accent. I give him props for learning a whole scene in a language he doesnt even know imo.

  • @Beakle He does speak french. Quite fluently actually and he does so in the film

  • One of the most deserved Oscars ever. Christoph as Hans Landa is one of my favorite film charcters of all time. Absolutely spellbinding.

  • the new marlon brando !

  • It was a great preformance, but it's also due to being such a great roll.

  • He's without no doubt the perfect actor for this role - can't think of any other actor that matched so perfectly for a role

  • The first scene of the film is just art! He is just amazing that Austrian dude!

  • He deserved the Oscar

  • I TOTALLY look like this guy, thank you God for making me aa sexy German like my new favorite actor is!!! SHUTUP IM NOT EGOTISTICAL!!!

  • Woahhhh! This guy IS "The Man".

    ~Tammi~

  • i loved him in this movie

he looks so handsome and you can tell from this minute and a half that he is very intelligent

  • What a talented man.

  • This man is gorgeous!

  • I'd step in his thistle.

  • I CONCUR.

  • He looks tired here, still lovely though :)

  • 3 Languages... easy going. As a German you learn English and Frensh at school. That's it tadaa! ^^

But I have to add, he speaks very good frensh. All I took with me from 3 years of frensh is "Je ne parle pas de francais" X'D

And he speaks very good english. ^^

  • french

  • @Jepsi08 oh pardonnez-moi! bien sur, 'french'.

  • It seems that you forgot Italian in Inglourious Basterds. He speaks German, English, French and Italian. Makes 4 languages, 3 foreign languages and the mother tongue. And that is in fact marvelous.

BTW: That is one of the few sentences which I am able to speak in French after 4 years of German school lessons ^^

  • @LeonidasVonRhodos Nope, I didn't forget Italian. From all I read and heard, he doesn't speak italian, he only mimics it very good in the movie. Although I might add, even that's great, for one rly can't tell if he speaks it or not ^^

  • @LeonidasVonRhodos he doesnt speak italian. he said it in an interview he only mimics it.

  • @loyalqueen Oh thank you, I did not know that. But he spoke the words in that film so good that I've been fooled. And like you said that is what matters.

  • he said he no really speak italian,... but it sound pretty convincing in the movie! XD

  • With English as your mother tongue you already speak a thousand tongues. Without loan words English would simply cease to exist. About 60 % of English words are of Latin origin. The rest mainly consists of words taken from French, German and Skandinavian. Nowadays, depending on the region you look at, you find African, Indian, Italian and many other influences. It's a never-ending story.

  • Christoph is Extra Sexy for being in his 50s ;)

  • sexy as hell....

  • Cristoph is the fucking man

  • i really wonder how good he speaks english although he's austrian

  • are you kidding he speaks perfectly just watch the movie where he speaks english

  • Comment removed

  • He speaks English, French and German fluently. He also dabbles in Italian. To English speakers like myself this seems amazing but on the continent it is not unusual to find people that speak 2 or 3 languages.

  • quentin is good

  • Christoph is amazing and he is sure to take home the Oscar. Tarantino's writing and directing was unique and superb.

  • sexy, handsome, talented, language genious.

  • @paucska Mmmmm you forgot intelligent :]

  • gorgeous

  • Its impressive how many languages he speaks. wow.

  • With all due respect, i must say Im a gay man and i am in love with Christoph he is not only a magnificent actor but OMG he's one sexy older man. He can speak to me in any language he desires. My answer will be the same : yes papi LOL Im latin by the way so YES PAPI is my response to this beautiful talented man.

  • Hell, there's even STRAIGHT guys who are a bit smitten with Waltz. He's got universal appeal. And you have excellent taste.

  • yeah man, I'm straight as an arrow but I find this guy attractive or something...in a non-gay, role-modelish way or something

  • I think that Christoph Waltz should have just been in a little bubble (Pop-Up Video style) on screen the entire time during Inglourious Basterds. He was just epic the entire time.

  • @PunkFictionProduction: Good idea! I enjoyed every moment of the film, with or without Christoph, but a little "Meanwhile, Hans Landa is doing..." pop up would have added to the awesome. :P

  • Yeah, honestly...if Avatar wins anything over Inglourious, then we'd better lock our doors because it'll be a sure sign of the apocalypse.

  • so true man avatar is mega overated, if it sweeps the oscars, im gonna go up to hollywood and massacre people lol.

  • Let it be known: If Avatar sweeps the Oscars, Christoph will lead our rebellion. Then all we have to do is find the Avatar after-party and, in the words of Tarantino, "Melt the basket."

  • @PunkFictionProdction

oh man avatar is soooo overated. Horrible dialogue, bad characters and a terrible plot

  • Honestly, I don't understand: if your film isn't nominated in the acting or writing categories, how the heck can it be nominated for director and picture!?! It makes NO sense!

  • a-fucking-greed.

man ... avatar was an average hollywood crap movie. the 3d - visuals were stunning YES. but a good look is only one part of a good movie. especially the plot was one of the lamest things i've seen for a long fucking time ...

  • @timflan1234 hell yeah

  • @timflan1234

Thats rough, Its overrated, but come on, the characters are good, and it is easily more awesome than twillight saga. But its overrated.

  • @timflan1234 god I know... I cant sit through the whole thing, couldnt not even the first time in theaters... /sigh

  • @timflan1234 It wasn't overrated, but it was good eye candy that was very succesfull.

    Not overrated, but succesfull.

  • @timflan1234 oh man people fall for the cult of the backlash soooo badly. It was superb. Its not designed to rival Tarantino for dialogue. Its brilliant because its transportation, its immersive and I'm not going to be one of these internet geeks trying so hard to be different but ironically all ending up the same 'terrible plot' how original... wonder where you thought that up? Having said that Waltz was spellbinding and Tarantino wrote another classic script.

  • @iloveneytiriI hate that the movie is described as re-inventing movies and such. Of course the picture looked nice, but that shouldn't put it in contention for Oscar glory. I can't believe films such as Gran Torino and Fight Club don't get at the very lest best picture nominations, but Avatar was a front runner for the award.

I am someone who likes STORY and not plot. Tarantino, Kubrick, The Coens, Scorsese etc. the GREAT directors, all have stories, where as it's the same old plot for Cameron.

  • @timflan12 Some of my heroes you've listed there the Coen brothers/Tarantino/Scorsese etc. Cameron is a different director to those guys but Cinema is escapism. Avatar wouldn't make my top 20 to watch at home but its no.1 for cinematic experience by a long way. Ok the story was predictable but it was a whole new world it was truly incredible. Personally I thought the best film of the ones nominated last year was Up In The Air. Either way that, Avatar, Basterds, Hurt Locker and Up were all great.

  • @timflan1234 Yeah, I hate David Cameron

  • @TheKenfig you hate the british prime minister? why is that?

  • @BenediktA1975 Cos he's so kind and compassionate

  • @timflan1234 Oh yea Avatar is shit & this bullcrap of a movie is a masterpiece, right? Its idiots like you who consider shit films great & the director goes in a delusion he cant make shit movies which this guy has consistently done aftr pulp fiction. Pity you.

  • @AlphaCentauri24 Look, this film isn't a lot different to Pulp Fiction except in subject matter. There are aspects of this story line I dont like e.g. killing Hitler in the cinema, which is so far removed from reality that it is silly for me. But you have to concede surely that it is very entertaining writing which make many of the set pieces engrossing, suspenseful and engaging and that is common in all his films

  • He's old enough to be my dad, in fact he's older than my dad but I swear... I would tap that lol

    adorable

  • He's several years older than my dad, and I'd tap that for a week straight.

  • lol we are both on the same page

  • JEWHUNTA!

  • Fantastic actor and I can't wait to see him as the villain in The Green Hornet!!

  • He certinaly deserved the Cannes award for best actor, the Critic's Choice award, and Golden Globe. Not to mention, he's so lovely to look at. :)

  • i think he's cute to

  • Hes so fuggin cool! xD Haha!

  • Great actor<3

  • I am glad that he has won a Golden Globe. He deserved it. I am myself an Austrian and am glad the more.

  • I completely agree! He deserved it SO much, and, as I watch interviews like this (and his acceptance speech last night), I'm struck by his graciousness. Awesome.

  • @SqashXAlexXKopf Oestereich! can't do the umlauts dammit

  • he deserved it.

  • This year is yours Christoph!!

I ve never loved a "villain" as much as I did Landa. You totally rocked!

    Here are wishes from me:

Hope the Oscar committee sees the talent that is Christoph Waltz, just like the Golden Globe judges did.

Dying to see more of your work in Hollywood!! :)

  • 1:08, quentin looked like hitler lol

  • Yes, I do. :)

  • JEW HUNTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    So Funny

  • One of the best things about "Basterds". Wonderful performance.

    ~Trav
