  • 1:48. AWESOME

  • good footage of the babe. wonder if there's any footage of him pitching? he was quite svelte in the early years, even later he was nimble and agile for a big man. extremely talented.

  • thank you , being english i know nothing about baseball but always knew about this man .

  • Maris broke the record with an expanded season, but didn't Ruth have 14 more games in his season than the previous home run record holder? A season is a season in my book.

  • @ACDCFan38 but Ruth broke the record well before he reached 140 games. he crushed the record, Maris needed the last 8 games to break Ruth's record. but in my mind, Roger Maris is the single season record holder.

  • do you have a typed version of this so ican use it for a essay haha

  • Ima say they're both the Wayne Gretzky of they're sport caus he's the greates theryle ever be but of course I'm Canadian

  • @geoff0529 nobody says anyone is the "wayne Gretzky of their sport" or the "michael jordan of their sport" because Babe Ruth transcended baseball. he saved the game when it was rocked by scandal. he changed baseball like no one has ever changed a sport. Gretzky was the greateset hockey player of all time, but he doesn't approach the legend that is Babe Ruth. people around hte world know Babe Ruth 77 years after he played. cant say that about the Great One

  • Babe Ruth's historic home/school and grounds in Baltimore are in danger. The grounds of old St. Mary's Industrial School, which is where Babe Ruth spent twelve childhood years (between 7 and 19), are situated on some prime real estate right off of I-95. The Archdiocese of Balto owns the property and is closing the Cardinal Gibbons School. The AOB plans to start accepting bids on the property in September. While we have no idea who will bid, it could very well be a developer.

  • Babe Ruth is a legend.

  • how tha hell are you going to compare micheal jordan to babe ruth/ thas like comparing shit with snow thats crazy micheal jordan is the best basketball all around basketball player ever and babe ruth was the all around best baseball player ever and kobe is in a new category he is a good ball player but labraun or ne players in either basketball or baseball can compare to the original greats remember they did not take steiroids or no drugs too make them great they just was that GREAT

  • why they call him an american ? there are no nations, only blood!

  • i can tell babe is an idol of urs, but sorry to bust your bubble but at 2:45, he wasnt pointing to where he was going to hit the ball, he was giving his team on the field gestures....dont believe me if u dont want...but its the truth.

  • @pigz88

Actually he was, there is vids of him saying he was going hit it out.

  • @pigz88 no one really knows what he was doing. To know what he was really doing, you would have to go back in time and ask him yourself. So dont declare that it's the truth if there is no proof.

  • jordan doesnt compare to ruth atall u. Ruth was different than all and was an exception.

  • wow. this guy is amazing ever though i never saw him play. i amazed and yet i'm not a baseball fan at all.

  • thank you wikipedia

  • i know right

  • he was born in February 6, 1895, Baltimore, Maryland stuod look it up!!!!!!!!!!

  • Babe Ruth brought Baseball back at the time it was full of scandal. Ruth saved the game, and did more good for the game in just about every way possible. We love you Babe, a tower of strength.

  • Jordan is the Babe Ruth of Basketball

  • na kobe is.......jordan is just more accepted on global bases...they guy doesnt have rape case on his ass

  • @Theoriginalhamfist yea if jordan played a little more and got one more ring he wouldve had 7 like ruth

  • @Theoriginalhamfist no he isnt. jordan is the best bball player ever but no athlete will ever compare to babe. his stats for his time are unworldly

  • the micheal jordan of baseball...

  • he is still the home run king in most peoples eyes.

  • Nice work, my kid is 12 and uses number 3 on his jersey because he is a great fan of one of the best players of all time. Greetings from Costa Rica, Central America

  • LEGENDARY

  • you done good kid

  • 1:44-1:51

Those are a couple of pretty powerful swings by the Big Bambino. What I like best about such footage is that it gives us an idea of the true athleticism, grace, and power of the Sultan of Swat; indeed, he was no "Jumpsuit Elvis", a fat parody of true ballplayers. The King of Swing was really just that: the King.

  • Yeah, he only started to get big near the end of his career, and for some reason that's how he's always been portrayed in history. He was in remarkable athletic shape.

  • Babe Ruth's parents were Portuguese from Madeira island!

  • did u no babes record of most homeruns in a season was set 15 games after the previous guy because the season had been extended by 15 games so babe although great broke the 5 games after the previous guy

  • At 0:18, he looks like he's using the slap technique used in woman's softball, except he's crushing the ball.

  • Good job...but i think that 714 home run record stood for 39 years

  • The Greatest baseball player ever

  • I love the babe - and this was great. I was a little disappointed to see at the end that it was motivated by sales, but still great.

  • nice work
