I love the dwarfs :) in the German Version every time the cannon fires every dwarf in the fortress cheers and screams "Yaaa Yaaaa Yaaahaaaa HELGA". I guess it's the same in the original Version of the game

Wasn't their an artillery piece mounted on railroad tracks back in world war 2? I haven't seen this cannon in the game, but every time I want to explore I get sidetracked by rvr or a quest that's just around the corner.

Just for looks. It's acutally for a quest. As you can see me accept one at the beginning.

The firing you saw, was after you completed the quest.

Its also used in a PQ in the valley, you have to kill an Orc Warboss who is preventing an engineer from putting up the flares to signal to Helga to fire. If you win, Helga Flattens an Orc base :D

this one doesn't work, but there is another siege weapons that works in the warcamps and keeps so you can defend your land, and every race has plenty of it's canons :) for exmple canons drops oil, other shots arrows, some shoot bombs and some like machine guns bullets :D

No, this is not a PQ. It's in the dwarven starting area.
