Its force of habit really, it makes no difference to the song whether you finger the Em or not. I am riddled with bad habits.

As I wrote in the description, my version is only inspired by other versions I have heard. I love the song so created a tutorial of the way I play and sing it in case anybody found it useful. Hopefully people will take what they want from it to create their own version.  I have never believed in trying to clone songs, we are all individuals after all.

yeah i can hear the wrong chords and it seems as though you might wanna play an Asus4 instead of an A, but excellent job on the clarity of sound, i have found other vids to help me get the right sound but you have helped me with the timing of singing to chord and thank you for that, now i play this song with my fingers lol

Hi there, good question.

If you were strumming the song the Em chord would need to be played but when you fingerpick it does not as you only pick strings related to part of the chord; however I have got into the habit of making the whole chord which allows me to fingerpick or strum the song. Its not necessary when picking but makes no real difference to the end result if you do.
