  • ok, I'm probably gonna sound really dense but I really don't understand this scene, could someone please explain it to me?

  • @slp2206 the doctor is a contract killer we see in the first scene killing another woman. he's been hired to kill becky, which is how he knows her name.

  • @lolbatzz @xcombine oh right, thank you :)

  • I might sound really dense, but I really don't understand this scene, can anyone tell me what's goin' on?

  • @slp2206 the "doctor" is a hitman who was hired to kill Becky after betraying the girls of Sin City. This is the last scene, in the opening scene of the movie you see the same guy, (the doctor) killing a different woman

  • yeah, they totally had flip phones back in the 50's (or 60's....whenever it takes place)

  • @schm147 I don't think there's any mention of when the movie takes place

  • @schm147 this takes place in the present or future, the film had to be in black and white due to the amount of blood and gore.. read up on it.. :)

  • @TheCtownbrown16 I mean the movie setting, not the film itself. the story takes place in the 50's/60's (judging by cars). By having a cellphone like that in it, that's an anachronism.

  • lol love his face when hes says "Becky..."

  • now, this is what i call a good ending. and his voice, oh, my, god, HOT!

and her eyes. =O She really impressed me in Since City. the symbolism is simple. a nice girl turned into a prostitute. She's like an angel in a devil's body. :)

  • I don't get this part. Someone please explain.

  • @chevypillow247 the salesman is a hitman that you hire to kill yourself.

Becky hires the salesman to kill her. she knows that gail and the other girls will kill her for turning aganst them and sideing with manute. the salesman identifis himself by offering you a smoke.

the salesmans story is all in the opening of the film its called 'the customer is always right'.

  • @endisnow That doesn't sound right. She seems surprised by the salesman and she wouldn't have the time to hire a hitman.

  • can anyone tell me please why are becky's eyes blue?

  • @platnium1811 her blue eyes are to simply force emotions out of the view (you) makes her feel more innocent. it a one of many film makers tricks

  • in an interview she sed shes going to be in the 2nd one...so i don't get it does she die or not?

  • @KuzumiKun They said at Comic Con this year that the script for Sin City 2 is "nearly done" and will be based on "A Dame to Kill For" and "The Long, Bad Night" which or different in chronology so some characters are still alive. etc.

  • @Regardle5s josh harnertt is in the 2 part on sin city ?

  • @KuzumiKun the second film will be based on the other sin city books one is call 'A dame to kill for' this book is set before 'Big fat kill'

  • wait...whats going on?! I don't remember this scene. someone please explain

  • @animelvr99 The guy is a hitman, and shes toast.

  • isn't she one of the chicks who played in the craft with neve campbell?

  • Alexis although not horrible was the only weak link in the otherwise near-perfect cast. Still a great scene though.

  • this wasn't in the graphic novel, wasn't it?

  • sin city isn't shit compared to the fucked up world we live in

  • im sorry if im the only one, i love the movie, but i feel like Alexis's acting was not that good throughout the movie. She kind of reminds me of Shelly Duvall in the shining. Just not fit for the part. Again, im a great fan of sin city. just my opinion

  • in the original comic, Gail guns that bitch down anyway! she deserves it.

  • the girls name is Alexis Bledel. for some reason i imagined her speaking to lorelai, her mom in Gilmore Girls. XD

  • anyone know what's the name of the actress?

  • @deshauciador Alexis Bledel

  • Did anyone else feel kind of sorry for her? I mean, I know she betrayed the others, but I don't how loyal I'd be to a group that had me work as a prostitute. >>

  • the guy in the elevator looks like iker casillas

  • @Datolo551 haha true

  • most amzing beginning and ending. And I have never really liked comic books and movies like 300. But sin city was just Awesome

  • For those of you wondering her eyes become colored because she recognizes that she is about to be killed. The same thing happens when The Salesman is with the woman at the beginning of the movie.

  • One of the more epic endings for a movie

  • It's a perfect ending!

  • Those eyes every time i think of this movie i always ememebr Ms.Bledel's eyes gorgeous.

  • I love the way they make the movie black n' white, and Becky's eyes were left in their original color!

  • Bye bye Becky...

  • Plugged hard!! good ending loving that there are no dislikes!

  • Becky's face after she tells her mum she loves her just shows she knows what's going to happen. I love it.

  • Shivers

  • favorite part.

  • im lost with this movie completly lost i watched it liked it but didnt get it was it a bunch of random stories or were they supposed to be tied together i really dont understand

  • @oktar123 most are tied together in some way at least. every story has a character that is in at least 1 other story

  • Becky would have to be a moron to not have a weapon on her after pissing off so many people. Then again, she would have to be a moron to not have already left the United States, yet she's apparently not even left the CITY!

  • @novasigma She's a moron for betraying the girls of Old Town.

  • man, she is HOT.

  • "Care for a smoke?"

"No, thanks. No smoking in the elevator."

  • my god. that last line by bidell, just screams.

  • look at her face when she says goodbye to her mom... she knows she's having her pussy banged and then she's getting a bullet in her head

  • He may look skinny and well kept.....But we aint seen the bad side...

  • when a smiling doctor offers you a smoke in the elevator you know you're fucked

  • wow shes fucked... and she kows it

  • I heard that sin city 2 was comin. This "Salesman" guy was my favorite character in sin city and I hope to see more of him in the sequel.

  • this guy is awesome. He has a great voice. I wish I had that beard.

  • @redhairmarimo Josh Hartnett, is his name. The Moment I heard that they were making Max Payne into a movie I said "Josh Hartnett please god let them pick Josh Harnett to play Max Payne". But they pick Mark "Marky" Wahlberg.

  • Apparently in the first scene the woman who dies (lady in red) hired the 'salesman' to kill her because she was frightened about how she was going to die, therefor is it possible (and in fact probable because the nature of this film and it's sense of irony) that Becky hired him for the same kind of job...

  • @Silverwolfcub This isn't correct at all. She is killed by The Salesman because she was spying for the police in the film in order to prevent her mother from finding out she was a prostitute. In the graphic novels she's killed by Gail after she finds out Becky is a spy. In the movie, presumably Gail or someone else representing Old Town hires The Salesman to kill her.

  • To Bad The salesman gets Shot!

  • @nekoyajuu what are you talking about?

  • @supertyflash he gets killed n the comics

  • 0:38 that ain't some pick up attitude.

That's the eye of a hunter stalking his prey.

  • of course she's aware of the fact he came to kill her and she's gonna die, that is why the last line is 'I love u too mom' cause she says goodbye before he kills her...

  • josh hartnett!!!! aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I love you

  • " Becky.........

  • And the elevator goes to the top floor...

  • I swear the sales man is my favorite character I can't quite explain it.

  • "care for a smoke."

  • who is that in the lift with her

  • She's pretty and I love her eyes, but she deserves this. A rat never gets away......

  • i don't get why she would hire someone to kill her, you can't pull the trigger on yourself?

  • @lacostic She wouldn't want to take the risk of murdering the girl in a hospital, thats what a professional is for, not getting caught. Not to mention finding her, having a right place to kill her, etc.

  • I can`t wait for second part. It`s interesting how would look like bad characters, they were so "colorful" and rich in the first part, but almost all died

  • it almost seems like they're inferring that Becky is "Blue Eyes", i deffinately know who doctor is, i can't wait for Hell and Back

  • She recognises the gesture and knows she's going to die. I think she wants to.

  • nah she just wants to fuck him.

  • @pukingrainb0ws i could be a homage to "the costumer" in the start of the movie, where her eye colour, is shown shortly

  • About time she play in a good movie I am aways going to remember her as rory off of the gilmore girls she have a young girl voice. Josh is so fu*king hot it dont make no since.

  • So does he kill her? I've never read the comics, but she was my favorite character in the movie

  • yes it would appear so he kills a woman at the start and this movie seems to wrap up how it started piece for piece.

  • don't know for sure, but most likely yes. it is implied that way.

  • that girl who plays becky is gorgeous

  • her eyes are soo cool.

  • Comment removed

  • @pukingrainb0ws It's because Alexis Bledel is known for her eye colour so they show her eye colour throughout the movie

  • don't see why they shouldn't. her eyes are angelic!

  • No she doesn't hire this hitman people.

The movie strays from the comic book. In the comic book Becky never makes it out of the alley, in the movie she does. The directors probably wanting to tie in the beginning of the movie to the end. I thought it was really strange how the prostitutes just let her run away until i saw the end. She did get shot.

Hitman are hired by other people too. She deserves to die for ratting out her friends. I wish they would have chosen another rat since i liked her.

  • yah , she is wonderful

  • shes amazing

  • cute eyes

  • one of the best endings to any film i've seen...the way the whole film is put together so it does make perfect sense but requires some thought on ur part. o for awesome

  • I've read the graphic novels and my interpretation of this scene is that Becky had hired 'The Man' to kill herself, much like the woman in the opening scene. The Man chose the spot there(the party), the woman did not know that. He also offered her a smoke, as if he was revealing his identity to them. And based on the way Becky said 'Love you too, mom' made me think that she had hired him herself

  • Find it really really creepy the way she says "Mm-hm" at 0 :31

  • i love her eyes! shes so pretty!

  • i freakin love her eyes!

  • I love how he says Becky, makes me melt every time. I love Josh!

  • can't wait for the sequel. <3

  • Comment removed

  • i love her eyes

  • Is it anywhere in the film that she hires him to kill her? Cause if it is, then Alexis would know for sure that Becky died. But, in an interview, Alexis said she DIDN"T know if Becky died or not. I don't know, it just doesn't make sense to me.

  • Think about it. Becky betrayed the Girls of Old Town who saved her from the police officer to the mafia. The mafia were looking to start a war between the girls and the police who have been under a treaty by bringing them the severed head of the cop they killed. So Gail their leader sends the hitman we know as The Salesman to kill her for her betrayal. It's one of those things that happens off camera and requires you to think about it.

  • Ok that makes better sense. It's just that I'm not really a huge Sin City fan and I don't really understand the premise of the movie or the books all that well. It's probably just more confusing for me.

    Thanks though!

    =)

  • @ClashDarkes Hm, an interesting idea. Who was the woman he killed at the beginning of the movie? I'm clueless, maybe you have an idea.

  • @SGTItachi47 Reply to a one year old comment. xD

The woman he killed at the beginning there is no name for, but she hired him to kill her. Committed suicide via hitman essentially. Some ex-lover of hers affiliated with the mafia promised to kill her in the most horrible way possible so she chose to give herself a nice quick death.

  • @ClashDarkes Hm. Nice touch. Thanks.

  • @ClashDarkes Yeah, I put that one together in my head one day when I was cleaning my pool. I was like "Whoa"

  • @ClashDarkes Thanks, Captain!

  • Actually someone else hired him in this one. The woman in red hired him to kill her because she broke it off with a mobster who promised to kill her in the most terrible way possible so she committed suicide via hit man. You can tell by the way Becky is stunned that she had no idea he would be there.

  • when I first saw this movie I had no idea who that was but man this movie was tight!

  • josh harnett is good

  • the guy is a hitman hired by gale!

  • I love the ending line

The salesman: Turn the right corner in sin city and you can find.. anything.

  • good ending I must say so myself

  • This is a much better ending(?) scene for Becky than in the book (in that, she died in the alley).

  • she's beautiful

  • Omg the guy is yummy lol

  • They are implying that he kills her, right?

  • they are not impying he kills her and thats that

  • Oh yeah, he definately kills her. Thats his job for pete's sake!

  • that guy is a hit man right/?

  • i wish sin city 2 comes out!!

  • Just for clarification I don't believe hitmen to be murderers as it is not them pursuing the act, but their employers. That's why the salesmen is such a good character. He seems so kind and he's going to have to kill you, but he never does it in cold blood.

  • In the sequel it could be a prequel story. Theirs also supposed to be an entire arc for the salesman in the sequel. Such a good ending though. Relates back to the beginning.

  • Alexis acts very well.

  • I hope she's in the second one, she was my favorite character for this movie

  • Mine too, I didn't think anyone else thought that.

  • she's not in the second I thought that she died in both the book and the movie.

  • She will be! The second film will be a prequel. The script has been completed but they haven't started filming yet.

  • i like her eyes

  • hahahaha rory rocks

  • i no that guy!

  • she is gonna die?

who is that guy...there are some theorys

  • That's "the Salesman" and at the beginning he killed this one lady, but it turns out that the lady he killed was actually paying him to kill her because she was afraid of her ex who's a mobster and said he was going to kill her in a terrible way.

  • ok, thanks.

but some people wrote that becky is not going to die. is it right?

  • Nobody really knows I don't think, I guess we have to wait and see if she died or not in the sequel. Cause a lot of people are saying she'll be in the sequel, but there's always a posibility it could just be a flashback or something that will help one of the plots to the movie make sense.

  • poor alexis

  • Alexis looks so gorgeous in this film.

  • Who sent The Salesman?

  • They never say, but I'm thinking Gail and the girls did, as revenge for Becky turning on them.

  • Yeah, I think so to.

  • Nope she's just the same as The woman at the start... She hired her own hitman. You can tell becuase the salesman password is "Care for a Smoke?" as soon as she hears this she notices who he is and says to her mum I love you too.

  • It doesn't make sense to me that they would hire someone to kill them.. It makes more sense that they're running away from a situation in which they were SUPPOSED to be killed, so the people who were supposed to kill them hire this guy to cut the cake. The lady in the beginning must not have known about this guy, but Becky seems to. She looked shocked to see him. When the O Town girls were collecting bodies, her's must've been missing. That's what I think though!!

  • oh, why did she hired him ? is she afraid of the other girls , i never got that.

  • Eactly the same as the woman in red. She knew if the other girls got her she would die a painfull and slow death, thats why she hired her own hitman

  • ohhhh my god she hired him herself! i get it now. i was like "how did he know shed be in that lift? why didnt she just not go with with for a cigarette if she knew he was a hitman?"

im awatch it again and pay atention this time.

  • herself

  • Well we don't know if becky does die or not..alexis said so herself in an interview. What we do know is that sin city 2 is supposedly a sequel to the first. In that case, alexis will be in it. For Sin City 3, it will all depend on if she was killed or not..

  • "Becky...Care for a Smoke?"

  • what he's done with her? Who was he?

  • that's actually not true at all... he is called the salesman, and the guy you're talking 'bout is called Dwight. It is true Dwight changes face, but only once and that is into Clive Owens face. This man is a hired hitman. He plays a bigger role in other stories. And yes, he's there to kill her

  • Turn the right corner in sin city and you can find..

  • her eyes get REALLY blue at the end...its coool

  • Does anyone else see Josh Harnett and automatically think Sleven Kalevra?

  • Not me, but that's just because I don't know who Sleven Kalevra is. Mind enlightening me, please?

  • He is the protagonist in Lucky # Slevin and he is played by Josh Hartnett(spelling?)

  • Thanks! -blushes 'cause she didn't get it at first- I've never seen that. (By the way, you spelled his name right)

  • I swear to God she better not have died!!!!!!!

  • She did

  • alexis bledels eyes are so cool in sin city! and josh hartnett is hot!

  • Oh, I loved this scene! It was a good ending to the movie. I can't wait until the second movie.

  • yes.

  • cellphones n hospital? wtf am I the only one who finds this strange?

  • I have talked on the cell phone in a hospital tons of times. You are not supposed to, but everyone does it. No. I do not find it strange at all. The hospital personnel might make you stop, but not in an elevator.

  • Really? Out of every scene in the movie, THIS is the one you find strange? Really?

  • The thing I love about Becky is that her character journey tells the story of what happens to a *naive* person when they're placed in Sin City - they become a *villain*. If she were in some place that wasn't corrupt like Basin City, she might be a normal teenage girl. But you put someone there like Becky, who is easily influenced, gullible, and *ambitious* - and they become completely overwhelmed by their worst flaws. That place corrupts everything it touches, and innocence has no place there.

  • Great movie,

Alexiz Bledels eyes are just amazing!

and I read somewhere that Becky will be in Sin City 2, yay

  • love this scene! don't remember it in the movie tho *-*

  • Least she died quick I suppose.
