  • @0000000Lara Thats interesting the other 59 comments on this video are all positive about this recipe. Hope you try it again.

  • @0000000Lara Of course it comes out horrible, tostones are tostones they need to be fry.

  • Okay, I am gonna try this. Tostones is the only fried food I eat, besides an occasional french fry here and there. Thanks!

  • Awesome, I finally found a video with good quality. I'm thinking about trying this recipe out soon with either marinara sauce some homemade mango salsa. Do you eat anything on your tostones?

  • @Apololover I use Mojo on my Tostones

  • My mom used to make these back in africa ,i have been looking for an alternate version to deep frying them, and this is awesome. I wonder if just baking them right of and smashing them will work. And yes the best plantain to use is green or half green. Don't use the ripe ones.

  • @MireillaWinters You have to place them in the stock first to soften them. If you smashed the plantains raw to would fall apart. Glad you liked the recipe.

  • I had Tostones, last night at Havana Road here in Baltimore for the first time! I'm going to try this recipe soon! Thanks!

  • @NaturalBronzeBomb Enjoy this version.

  • I love it, thanks for the recipe! I have some plantains here just begging to become tostones, but I don't need to carry them around on my butt!

  • @abracadaverous LOL...Well go make some healthy tostones and enjoy them with out worrying that they will end up in the wrong place. :)

  • perfect. Love the cooking method. I will pan fry with a small amount of oil after I boil them, and rub them with freshly minced garlic, chili peppers, and make a sweet chili, rice vinegar and mustard dipping sauce.

  • @exiagundamit Sounds delicious what you are going to do with the finish product.

  • Wow! I am going out to buy some plantains tomorrow! Is there any way to get mofongo without frying as well?

  • @Christinitamb Yea you can make Mofongo this way. Cook it the way I shoe in the video and then mash them up in a mortar and pestle

  • @Titinefer1129 you can do this...it is very easy. make sure the plantains are still green.
