  • what is this tune?

  • wow not only is he one of the best guitar players, but he can sing really good good.

  • beginning sounds similar to drifting to andy mckee. though, andy mckee doesnt even match up to this guy.

  • this song what is tunning / i like this song

  • The guitar is indeed a '71 Martin D-28. I asked Michael at one of his shows in Milwaukee. I remembered because I have a '72 Martin D-28.

  • Does anyone know what kind of guitar that is? somebody please respond

  • 1971 Martin D-28

  • fantasticccccccccccc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who wrote this song?

  • Michael Hedges wrote it.

  • This is probably the most brilliant rhythym technique to ever have been played on an acoustic guitar.

Michael is the best thing that's ever happened to the acoustic guitar...

  • If you check how he plays Raggamuffin, the technique is similar.

This guy is beyond everything I've heard...

  • I have this video on Dvd.

It's from windham hill in concert

  • Excellent!!

  • Absolut fantastisch!

  • didn't he die in a car accident? my fathers friend was best friends with him in college and said that a few weeks after he made this wydam hill sampler he died in a bad car accident.

  • I think this video was made sometime in the 80s, but I'm just going by the hairstyles - other videos from around that time had the dreds. He lost the dreds in the 90s and later cut his hair very short... j

  • No, this performance is from the 80s. Michael Hedges sadly died in a car accident in 1997.

  • is really di dead??? :(

  • way better than the original, i wish i couldve seen him. truely amazing

  • I saw Michael Hedges at the Ryman Auditorium. I was unfamiliar with his work, unprepared for the beauty of his music, and blown away by the jaw dropping talent he had in spades. I had never heard anyone play like that, nor could I have even conceived such talent existed. Hedges was one of a kind, so full of life, a true genius. He had God given gifts we mortals don't share. I miss him big time. Peace.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself!!!!!! I have seen him MANY times and am SOOOO GRATEFUL that I did. He is GREATLY MISSED!!!

  • It leads into Aerial Boundaries... why'd you stop it??? I NEED MORE

  • tat song made want to dance

  • It's called, "Follow Through". I think it's his best song (lyrics wise, of course :D)

  • He just made everything look so effortless and fluid. Is this from a VHS or something? Any idea if they put it on DVD?

  • Originally from "Windham Hill In Concert" vhs 1986 and has been released on DVD.

  • Pure Brilliance. You can see and feel the joy in the music. We love and miss you Michael.

  • question about this tuning B1F#2C#3F#3F#3F#3 -- what do the numbers represent in this type of tuning. ty

  • the numbers represent on which octave the string is on. for example, B3 would be tuned an octave higher than B2, although it's still a B.

  • Incredible!

  • This is awesome. thanks Fuzzybuggy!

  • The song is titled "Follow Through".

  • I love this song. Anyone have the tuning for this song

  • B1F#2C#3F#3F#3F#3 that's the tuning. This song stomps all over everything I've heard in the last 4 years.

  • This takes me back to when my hubby (of 15 years) met. How can I add this to my windows media player to watch & listen to? Please help! I NEED this song! :)

  • If the sound is good enough here, download a free program called "Wavepad" get it recording, then play the vid. It records anything as you hear it, and you can name/save it.

  • i tried to learn this from the video.. but with the video being just a tic away from the audio its makin it a lot harder than it should be

  • nobody can be as good as Michael is.

  • i love this frikin guy.. like.. seriously.. its son hard to find artists that can play like that and still sing.. i know i can't sing and do it at the same time.. i'm gonna tho..

  • Damn good song

  • The song is called "Follow Through", and this is from the 1986 Windham Hill In Concert video. The reason you see different footage is that it was filmed in LA at a soundstage and also at Red Rocks in CO (check his website for all the info).

A somewhat different version shows up on his 1994 album Road to Return.

  • whats the song called?

  • B F# C# F# F# F#

  • Any guitar players out there figure out the tuning for this song???

  • Somebody help me out here; This isn't the Windham hill concert video. Well it is, at the end, when he's obviously in a differrnt hall, wearing a different shirt, et c. This looks like some TV-studio performance. Even on this, I think the sound is better than the Windham Hill video. I've always liked this arrangment better. Used it for a play I wrote, but I had to use the album version for quality reasons.

  • maybe just footage from a different nite (did they run it over more than one nite?) it is on my concert video as well though.

  • What the hell is with the Camz crap? Stop posting your damn advertisements.

  • This song is titled "Follow Through" in answer to the many people who wanted to know.

  • F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!

I still love you MICHAEL HEDGES.. FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

    K. Lima-Peru

  • fukk yah! wikid beat, truly amazing!.

  • he is truely form another planet. thank you for sharing.

  • Why would you put "drugs" and "stoner" as keywords?

Anyway, you should add in the title of this song.

  • was he lip syncing? GF said he was.

  • i doubt it. the video and audio just arnt perfectly in time

  • beautiful song. genius.

  • Yeah, the DVD is like a gazilliion dollars. Can't afford it!! This is my favorite song bby Michael...well this video version.

  • This just walks all over the album version that I have. It's good his voice comes across well, he was singing well that night. Contrary to a lot of people's opinions I really don't think Mike had that good of voice but it was in good contrast to his compositions that he wrote some nice songs. Incredibly talented person. I'm glad I found him.

  • Very sad that I never saw him live. Thanks for sharing the video. Awesome.

  • You can get this on a dvd called " windham hill in concert ". I had to get it on e-bay because it's out of print but there are some copies out there. Great video.

  • Pure genius, gone too soon. Can someone put up the Because It's There performance of any kind?

  • It's up already. Do a search and you should find it.

  • Did Michael Hedges record this to CD, or is it just on this video? What is the name of the song? I couldn't find it on iTunes.

  • Stupid fucking iTunes... what the hell happened to going to a music store to buy a fucking CD of your favorite artist?

  • Did Michael Hedges ever record this to a CD? Or is this just from a show? Who does the original of this song? What is the name of it? I can't find a copy on iTunes anywhere.

  • He recorded it on his 1994 album "Road to return". But it always sounds better 'Live' when he performs it all by himself than the arrangement on that album.

  • Freakin' sweet.

  • man this guy was way beyond his time, spiritual and with his guitar.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • OMG, I remember watching this video a long time ago. So long ago in fact, that it was on a "Laser Disc" ROFL.

Thanks for sharing, was it just Follow Through and Aerial Boundaries on that production?

  • dagnammit, thats some awesome stuff! cant you put the rest of his stuff on youtube my friend?
