  • The last real chef.

  • Poor Floyd, he was the best. RIP

  • I remember my parents watching this guy when I was a child, he seems to have a good fun personality just by being himself.

  • to quote the words of Dave G.(foe fighters) "there goes my hero"

  • It's wrong this man is dead. He had too much life.

  • @smurfieboo

He died at 65, that's not bad, his liver no doubt looks like a ancient relic.

  • One of the best cassoulet recipes ever, I come back to this one time and time again.

RIP Keith Floyd. Why are his shows not repeated instead of the other tripe that cycles on our screens?

  • I come from toulouse and it is "Cassoulet" not "Cassolet". I don't know this person but aparently he was a nice guy... Nice video btw

  • Was he an alky?

  • Best TV chef ever, thanks Keith.

  • He was the greatest cooking presenter bar none. I absolutely adored this guy and is a real source of inspiration. Commiserations from Austria

  • When England beomes and Islamic State, pork and alcohol will be banned under Sharia Law.

  • Looks like he was on his last legs here :-( just read his autobiog, will miss him loads

  • whoever JuanMacCready is they should wake up and basque in the culinary genius that was Keith Floyd. And if One can't then they are nothing more than ignorant fools that shouldn't be allowed voice an opinion.

  • KEITH WILL ALWAYS BE THE KING.

  • Keith Floyd was the best TV cook ever. Charismatic, non PC, and a keen enthusiastic drinker, he makes the rest of them look like a bunch of wimps. Especially that 'mockney' clown Jamie Oliver. I attempted to watch one of Sainsbury's ad man's shows a few months ago in the hope that I wasn't being unfair to "Mr. Beau'iful Pukka". I switched channels after 5 minutes. He must be the most irritating person on TV.

Too many second rate TV chefs now, all off the back of the great Keith Floyd.

  • I will miss floyd apparently he died in the way that suited him, which is meant in the most respectable way. After eating exquisite seafood and marinading himself with the finest champagne to celebrate the the fact of a new book coming out he suddenly had a heart attack while watching the tv in the chair. From what i heard he had a great night that night and atleast he ended his life on a good note.

  • Bloody hell. Goose fat, chunk bacon, three kinds of sausages, and duck confit? My arteries are screaming in agony just from watching this. (The rest of me, on the other hand, wants to reach right into the monitor for a bite.)

  • @crazycappie french food is awesome.

  • RIP, he will never be equalled

  • OK he was an arse to work with, hopeless at business..and all the rest.. but what joy, information, what a pleasure to watch and you did not know what moment of mad delightment the next episode would bring. I think the "centurian sauce" link on the right sums it up, information and repartee. What a joy, RIP KF

  • I grew up watching Keith Floyd. He made cooking so much fun. It was all about his love of eating and exploring. He really took the cooking out of the kitchen to the outside world. I felt as I were travelling with him. Many thanks.

  • Glad I discovered this guy. He's quite entertaining.

French food. Gods, one of the best cuisines in the world in my opinion.

  • Sheesh I could make a shoe taste good with all them sausages and pork belly. Cholesterolific!

  • @lomsteve much like a fine wine. He was truly a chef I could respect.

  • We miss you, Keith. I'm you're cooking up a storm wherever you are

  • when outdoor cooking you should really have an overhead shelter to protect you're food from bird shit falling into the food. It could happen and ruin ur meal

  • No salt???

  • @YzorYzor everything else has salt, as well as the pork belly

  • @YzorYzor not necessary, saguage's and the pork is salty already.

  • Does anyone know where I can purchase Floyd on France(Region 2) on DVD?

  • @legendkiller2004 I'm afraid it and many of his other BBC shows are unavailable on dvd. You can pick it up on vhs and there's a website that has put it onto dvd themselves but there version is incomplete I think. Easily the greatest cookery show ever!

  • That is a large dish of Cassoulet. Not for the faint hearted.

I judge the people on television by asking if I would want them to actually be in the room with me. Ainsley Harriot? No, Gordon Ramsey? No, the entire cast of Eastenders/Coronation Street/Neighbours etc etc? No No No.....but Keith Floyd came across as a charming gentleman of character and I would welcome him in with a glass of Chateua Lafite and a smile. RIP

  • i been a chef for 10 years and floyd in my insporation and the only chef i idlolice

forget all the other chef his the best godd bless floyd and r.i.p

  • RIP Keith .You had great humour and were great fun to watch .

  • What a sad loss. We'll miss his colourful cooking and character.

    Such a great man.

Who knows, maybe he'd be cooking something great for us on the other side....

  • r.i.p floyd.

  • R I P xxx

  • I'm in Phuket (Thailand) and just found out that he's opened a restaurant here. Booked a table for tomorrow night and really looking forward to trying the food. Mostly, I hope to meet the legend (If he's here)

  • He has died.

  • Keith, you are the best!

  • Good old Floyd.

  • ffs @ comments from the hygiene police

Modern obsession with that sort of thing is why some people have little natural resistance to infection...the same people who run to the doctor for antibiotics when they feel slightly ill

  • Legend.

I have just started watching his stuff.

    Always drinking. XD

  • Yeah right... and off course he's not preparing anything in advance... Who do you think you are? Do you know anything about cooking on TV???

You know... he made this dish under 5 minutes time... Good God! Absolutely amazing... maybe it's because he's such a dirty sod!

Come on... Get real, and enjoy some good cooking instead! I had enough of you negative guys... always complaining, and never contribute to a better world... Live well!

  • maybe he cooked the food before they started recording?

  • Why would he wash meat before cooking it? Explain. No-one washes meat before you cook it. What a strange thing to say. Would you prefer to sit and watch Keith Floyd washing lettuce in a sink than actually seeing the cooking techniques? He's not teaching unhygenic methods, the show is meant to be entertaining. What a miserable attitude!

  • Erm, well if it was from KFC then obviously you wouldn't.

But what you're trying to say is you wouldn't wash chicken first, you wouldn't clean your beef, just open the packet and place in a saucepan? YUK!!!

    What a dirty attitude!!!

How can it NOT be hygenic to NOT wash your produce before cooking?

  • form where the hell did you get this "information"?

the ingredients for sure were washed before the show.

there is no cooking show that starts with "let's wash the tomatos first"

    LOL! :)

  • fun to watch and a good chef! appreciate you posting this!

  • A true tv chef master. Thanks keith. You are an inspiration to all.

  • Keith Floyd is an example of a flawed yet authentic, genuine man who has lived life to the full - he's travelled the world, enjoyed his booze and women, met some amazing people and has never been afraid to speak his mind. Give me Floyd's natural charm over Jamie Oliver's mockney schtick any day of the week.

  • He looks older here, was this quite recent? Good old Floyd.

  • I miss Keith -

sick of all the chef TV crap now...

back then it was a special treat to have a cooking show - now it is on 24\7!

  • Floyd's been having health scares? Guess we don't hear that sort of news state-side. I, too, hope that's doing well. He's one of the FEW food show hosts/presenters that I was ever able to watch. I actually special-ordered his cookbooks from local bookstores back in the early '90s, before the Internet made that possible from the comfort of home. And now I can watch what I've been missing of Mr. Floyd, here on YouTube. Tres cool. Cheers all.

  • Im missing floyd lately on tv, I know he's had some health scares lately. I hope he's ok hes a good cook. :)

  • I'm sure its tasty but that is hardly a propper cassoulet. A cassoulet should be baked in the oven to get the essential thick crust on top. No crust, no cassoulet. The ingredients are correct but the method is wrong.

  • and how about actually cooking it in... a cassoulet?!!!

  • hmmm, could have eaten that entire pot's worth!

  • Hehe~He's funny~me n my mom used to watch his shows during the holidays n my mom often said.."Oh,please dont throw the plates too!!"...coz he often throw things even the dishes~

  • keith is the man, so wat if he likes a drink, who doesn't?

  • Likes a drink? if hes cremated he wont so much burn as flombey.

  • flambe lol ! good one

  • floyd your man

  • Thanks for posting Keith Floyd. What an incredible personality as well as cook and teacher. I would love to see more of him. I especially enjoy him when he is tipsy! Very fun. Does anyone out there have any vintage Floyd video? It is impossible to find the old shows.

  • I agree. I really miss the guy. He made posh cooking looking easy.

Mr Floyds recepies are simply brilliant!

  • You're the twat.

  • have noticed u only watch vids that u dont like o u can complain about. u need to go to doctors n try to find some help....or just have a wank xxx

  • it is a silly person who picks one person up on a simple type, when they can't put together a sentence without mistakes themselves.

however, ignoring that, what you are missing is that while Keith Floyd is not only an entertaining personality, he is also an excellent chef, often resurrecting dishes that many tv chefs leave behind. his rustic dishes are far tastier and far easier to cook than half the stuff shown these days.

  • would you just shut up? this is very simple method and helps you not to be even bigger ridiculous clown than you are.

  • The preserved (or confit) duck he uses is one of the most delicious things on earth.

  • agree

  • apologies for the typo in my reply to you. as for the 'no taste in food' and 'go learn to cook' parts - i did, and ended up a chef you prick. you are right, people have their own opinions on food....just that yours are wrong.

  • Well said sesamepete! Floyd taught Rick Stein and was the first to hire Jean Christophe Novelli when he came to Britain. Both rate him as one of the best ever...and I think I trust their opinions far more than silly people like 'lovechocolate25'.

Floyd is a pioneer. He single-handedly revolutionised attitudes to, and knowledge about, food in Britain (in my opinion ;). It's said he is an absolute nightmare to work with; most geniuses are.

  • He was a legend, and it is not just your opinion ludocrat but that of the literally millions of people (from professional chefs to home cooks) who were influenced by him. He was a television pioneer, an entertainer, a wonderful cook and gastronaut!

And lovechocolate25, spelling is nothing without a basic knowledge of punctuation. You thick cunt.

  • I'd go for shut up lovechocolate25. First of all that 'stuff' you put together and call food, most 'normal' people know them as 'ingredients', they tend to be combined in a fashion to make such classic dishes as a cassolet, not challenging but id enjoy seeing your 7 year old brother making one that didnt taste like shit. And as for the french eating anything, their cuisine is wideley accepted as being some of the best in the world you uncuktured swine! Enjoy

  • kieth floyd was one of the first englishman to open a resaturant in france he has opened many restaurants since and the food was always criticaly acclaimed so if the man can please the french i think he can cook and you are probably just a twat

  • oh please, hes only having fun

  • then eat tons of fucking chocolate instead... LOL!

  • his food makes my mouth water respect

  • lol keith. ahahahahhaaa

  • keiths a star!

  • What year is this from?

  • 2007

  • He is looking so old :(

  • Great stuff - do you have the one for Perigord Salad?

  • Thanks for posting Keith Floyd, he is a champion. :)
