hardly university challenge calling someone a cockhead in the first place really is it mate?
Why not just debate politely instead of throwing insults around, there's enough of that on youtube as it is, would be nice to see a rational debate for once.
Socialism is for people who fail at life? What about the NHS? Is that for people who fail at life? None of us choose the situation we are born into. Without the wellfare state many more people would perish under Capitalism in the UK.
we all want a welfare state - trouble is the a lot of people in this country just want to milk it and live off the hard work of others. The basic failure of socialists is that they just cannot see this. Socailism breeds idlessness and eventually collapses as it has done in Eastern Europe and everywhere else.
But they didn't really fail. Greed failed, capitalism failed. Capitalism will always seek short term solutions and short term profit, failing at the longterm prospect because non of capitalisms prime advocates care about anyone than themselves and their closest friends. Thus what happens in 100 or 200 years is not in their interest.
You are the one that started the insults by calling me a cockhead, just because I didn't agree with you. That gives an indication of your intelligence. You are no doubt one of those loudmouth bores that can't discuss politics without turning it into a personal shouting match.
I've been an active member of the Labour Party and know how it works, so I don't need any pie-in-the-sky lessons in nastiness from you.
The Labour Party of the 50's and 60's was social democratic; the Left socialist wing was in constant battle with the leadership. Are you suggesting Attlee, Gaitskell, Wilson, Callaghan, Blair and Gordon Brown are/were Socialists? To do so would suggest ignorance.
Nationalisation does not equal socialism. Health services are now the standard in the EU, but the EU is not socialist. So what three are you talking about?
Various Labour parties? Do you mean the Labour Parties of Britain, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand? Or are you referring to 'socialist ' parties? You see? You are not at all precise in your rhetoric. Furthermore, just because someone calls themselves 'Socialist' doesn't mean they are. Since the war, Britain has had 7 Labour govenments and it's no nearer socialism, and constantly elect leaders who are more social democratic and conservatve rather than socialist.
Well it's really easy to make empty criticism like that without saying why what I'm saying is bollocks. And just because I say something that you disagree with, then you accuse me of knowing nothing about socialism or the Labour Party. So , o great wise guru of Marxism, you tell me why and how I know nothing about the Labour Party and Socialism.
So those who advocate socialism will be in a minority for now. And in the future the conflict between the ideology of capitalism and the needs of the working class will erupt into conflict.
Massive public sector strikes this year because the government lies in trying to blame public sector workers for inflation when no sober economist would suggest such a thing!
What the hell are you lot going on about? The Labour Party has never been a socialist party. At best it has always been a Social Democratic party supporting the mixed economy. And as for that stupid remark "Militant was the forerunner for the campaign for a new workers party" that has to be the joke of the decade. Workers do not join political parties en mass. all they care about is good job, good money, and dream about being a filthy rich capitalist. It's a bourgeois occupation.
IT IS CLEAR that NEW LABOUR is historicaly following the path of Capital, and as such this is a matter of TWO RIGHT WING PARTIES,along w trying to tell the people their homes and jobs are safe in their hands. The generation I was born with believed that getting a 25 year morgage, and even living in fear of its loss through unstable jobs, they believed they were living the CAPITALIST dream. This generation can not afford homes let alone have a hope in hell that they could find secure work.
the true socialist were expelled from the labour party to make way for what is now new labour, and an agenda that has become clear.we need socialism more than ever but i think years of media abuse has destroyed hope, no one cares but for them selfs.

Not exactly raising the level of the debate are you. "Fail in life"? What have the bankers done exactly? Failed in life and failed the economy too.

Militant was the forerunner for the campaign for a new workers party and they showed how to organise a mass movement.
