Most people don't realize our homeless population in OKC is very well taken care of. If people are going hungry, it is only by choice or they were banned from the shelters for one reason or another. That's another reason why giving to panhandlers doesn't help anything but provide a means to get their alcohol or drugs. Support local service providers, never give directly to a homeless individual. City Rescue Mission serves great meals 3 times per day, along with other shelters, and many churches.

It's nice to give, but how about Peanut & Jelly, on some healthy whole grain bread, something that will be a little healthier, do you know what's in hot dogs. But thanks for doing something. 2007-04-23
