  • Go Army! Beat Navy! Hooah!!

  • Very clever at the end with "Sink Navy"!

  • its sometimes weird the marine corp cheers for the army but they are incorporated in the navy, but it doesnt matter we're all doing the same mission

  • Can you go to west point and be an officer in the marine corps?

  • @USMCForceRecon100 no people who want to be officers in the USMC have to go to the Naval Academy or colleges that support ROTC for the USMC....

  • im gonna trry and get to west point even though im australian. but anyway im 15 and i wanna join the sas :D

  • @slamdunkd12345 if u really want to go to west point do a lot of community service, play some sports, good grades, join the police explorer or fighter fighters etc...

  • I just saw a documentary on west point (National Geographic: Surviving west point) and "beast week" looks like summer camp. Im sure the studying is brutal but these kids just walk around with no military baring at all. On to episode 4 , see if things change.

  • @DRINKDRANK123 "Beast" is actually six weeks long, and that documentary certainly "skipped over" a lot of what goes on. It's much more brutal than it shows, the Academy probably just doesn't want to scare people away. And yes, the studying IS brutal.

  • Where's the "super-like" button?

  • I want to go there so bad!!!

  • @HFPOAS I live here

  • @HFPOAS join the club lol

  • can anyone who has any experience with west point. i.e. attending west point, received an appointment, graduated, give me some tips on how to better my chances of getting an appointment. im currently a sophomore at a private school and im in jrotc, straight A student, i already have 2 varsity letters and i will have at least 2 more by the time im a senior. i work as a councelor at a local park and im a lifeguard. when im a jr im going to try and do boys state. im on my schools drill team also.

  • They give you extra points in their acceptance rubric if you play more than one sport. Sounds like your grades are good. Make sure you are taking AP and Honors courses while maintaining those straight A's. Finally, you want leadership experience. Be the president of a club, lead a community service project, or be the captain of a sports team.

(Oh, and you should take a prep course for the ACT/SAT. Standardized testing is important to USMA)

  • i play football, indoor track, outdoor track, and i wrestled for a year in hs. and i take all honors courses and AP world history

  • you need to pass sat exam, must finish high school between 17-23 , must be in good physical condition, and must be smart (more activities ). West Point is really better than universities becouse you learn military leadership , you study best military academy in the world and some informations about study at usma.> get up at 6:00 oclock and sleep at 00:00 (sometimes it could be late as 03:00 am) . and you do morning exercises, breakfast, study subjects, club activities and sports, homework, sleep

  • West Point, I'll be there!

  • West Point Sucks Trust me.. i didn't learn anything there... i i Learn way better in OCS ask my dad.... he say West Point Guys are Dumb and hes right because i saw him in Action OCS VS West point officer in artillery tactics.. and my dad really impressed them... he teach in West Point also... but you can go to West Point i wish u luck man : )

  • Well, Its way better than just entering a Boot Camp.

  • ok but when you say Boot camp and then Joining the officer course is another story my dad did Both and ask him was way hard ... from 41 guys 7 guys graduate and one of those 7 my dad was 1 of em : )

  • Well I ment that I would be easier making a Career in the Army by entering West Point instead of entering Boot Camp.

  • Just got my appointment!

    West Point Class of 2014

  • khakhakha!!! )))))) And it your way test?))))))

lol))) Ryazan High Military School of Airborne Troops - it's a power!!!!!

  • If yuo get through west point how do you get put in a unit?

  • @Jfidelis1 simple after you graduate you are put into the military by the government for 5 years

  • nice video but...Rah Virginia Mil!

    VMI Class of 2012

The Institute Shall be heard from today!

  • the year i would get in to be a freshman is the year 2014-2015 if anyone would be there in that year remember to keep up in EVERYTHING! (physically and mentally) HOOOOAHHH!!! SEE YOU THEN!

  • this video is great, it tells the aspects of what you learn at west point, which are temwork, duty, honor, country, dedication, and heart. West point is something larger than any of us,WEST POINT IS THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!HOOOOOOOOOOOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yup

  • I agree with this video, was our first president not US Army? George Washington, 1st President of the United States of America. A nation that would one day save the world from tyranny and protect the free peoples of earth. Fiction? Nah, we're living it. For this reason the best come from the US Military Academy. I'm just an Asian-American, but I know where our leaders are born, and where they are made. West Point.

  • HOOAAAHHHH!!!!!!!

  • @TheHmongIdentity You can't be serious.........

  • hahahaha that ending surprised me it was like all serious and then all of a sudden "......Sink Navy"

  • Go Army!!!

I'm a cadet right now, and enjoy it every day.

  • hooah! my cousin is a cadet there to, he is a yuck, cadet walls is his name, you probably wont know him but its possible though. Go army beat navy

  • hey i want to go to west point soooo bad, do you have to make like ultra good grades to get in? im a junior in highschool and i am very passionate about this stuff. thanks

  • Not really. All you have to do is be active in the school/community. They look at you physically and academically. Grades are important, but they are not everything. 60% of the application is your grades and ACT/SAT scores. The rest is how active you are in school, how you do on the fitness test, and everything else you put into your application..

  • @bleujae1

West Point looks for really well-rounded kids. So like if you're a B student but you're a varsity team captain, you'll have a better shot than an A student who's unathletic. I recommend trying to earn more than one varsity letter, getting involved with your community, and doing really well on your SAT/ACT.

  • west point is in up state NY also skulyman5 you must be very strong and athletic cause its not all about brains to get in there. there is also a phsycal test i find the hardes about it is running a mile in like about 4min and 30sec

  • trust me, i am in great physical condition i play football, basketball, and baseball. all on very competitive teams and i play the role of being a captain on all of them. but even my football coach went to west point for like a month and had to leave cause he was a great football player but he wasn't smart enough to get in. on the other hand, my uncle bill went to west point, he was the starting pitcher all four years for baseball. He loved West Point.

  • You will never take any kind of physical test in West Point or the Army for that matter that requires you to run a mile in 4min 30sec. I don't know where you heard that, but trust me, it's not true. The physical fitness test you need to pass is the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test). you can look up the scores you need for your age group.

  • i want to go there so bad but im only 13 so im going in CAP-cival air patrol

  • West Point is amazing! I want to attend West Point for college I may only be an eigh grader but everything i have done qualifies me to be a West Point cadet.

  • yes...amazing

  • thc

  • WERE IS WESTPOINT

  • In New York

  • man i realy with my congress man/woman will pick my aplication.

  • If they haven't contacted you by now, you may not have made it. I know I recieved my notice of nomination January of the year I was to enter.

  • do you know if west point prepratory is a normal high school preparing for west point or is it for 18 year olds and people who got rejected from west point?

  • ok from what i know now it is for people who have been rejected BUT they still have a chance: USMA prep. it is the academy however that decides whether you qualify for their prep program. thats called a sponsored prep, where the academy supports you through the prep school. there is also self prep where you do not apply first, but go through a prep program and then apply. you have to pay for self prep though, and there is a lower chance of getting accepted if you self prep rather than sponsor.

  • polska im pretty sure its for those who get rejected from west point. It one year long. So ive been told

  • i remember going there when i was younger my uncle and cousin both served at west point and i was on holiday from belfast and thought it was class

  • I may not be the best out of all the candidates, but I am going to apply. If I do not get accepted by admissions, then at least I tried and gave it with everything I had. I will still live by DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY!

  • HOOAH!

  • west point graduates dont deserve to clean the boots of sandhurst graduates

  • what is rotc???????

  • reserve officer training corps. basically it is going to school with a commitment to the military afterwards. when you graduate you will be commissioned as an officer, O1 (second lieutenant). most colleges have some form of rotc

  • sink navy hehe. why does westpoint hate navy so much?

  • they are our rivals, just like any other school has one.

  • lol because they're Army. I've heard that the Army Navy football rivalry is the biggest in college football history. I could be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me if it really is.

  • @kakashihatakegirl It is and i've gone to one of their games

  • @kakashihatakegirl it really is

  • so inspiring! always admired west point, creating great leaders for a great country!

    greetings from Germany!

  • West point here I come.

  • I got accepted for a summer program. how intense is the physical training?

  • My boyfriend got accepted to West Point this year on full scholar ship. Breaks my heart...but i will always stand by his side. God Bless America.

  • full scholarship?? its free for everyone..

  • If you go to westpoint, there is no tuition. everyone gets " full scholarship" plus 9,200 a year minus uniform fee, laptop etc.

  • haha yeahh, you actually get only maybe $300 a month for spending money. They give you 100, and take away 99......

  • no you wont

  • well everyone who gets into westpoint gets full scholarship....

  • no duh he got a full scholarship. The American taxpayers pay for the tuition and the students get a nice monthly allowance.

  • I hope you do. Trust me, nothing sucks more than going through a breakup in a place like West Point. I'm pulling for you, but it's called the 2 Percent Club for a reason...

  • Everyone keeps posting what they have and then ask if they're capable of acceptance. If you dont get in, YOU DONT GET IN. An ALO will help much more than youtube posts.

  • The song is called Army Strong, originally composed for the Army Strong campaign.

Great video, gets me every time...

  • whats the name of this song?!?!?

    pls tell me

  • my Uncle i never met left his job, his wife, and his kid , to become a U.S. Army Officer. What sets someone apart is there want for something, and there ability to give up things they would've had to achieve something that some people will never understand.

My Uncle was in the class of 65',and was KIA in Vietnam. His choice has affected my entire family.

  • Going into your senior year at highschool..in the summer there is a summer seminar at west point...you have to apply for it...is it hard to get in for it?

  • yeah. don't worry if you don't, it is usally for people who know people. and the attrition rate for those who go to SLS is high. most people don't get to go to it.

just get your stuff done and turned in and train up for it. being physically fit only makes it easier.

ps don't go jet skiing the day before.... BAD IDEA lol

  • I'm a sophomore with a 3.80 average with 3 honors just wondering what it takes to set someone apart from the other thousands of West Point applicants?

  • Leadership stuff. Get into positions like class or club president or become a sports team captain.

  • Leadership, leadership, leadership. Take the most advanced classes you can, get in good shape, play sports and nail those SATs

  • i'm a senior in high school right now and i just secured my appointment. my cumulative GPA was 4.4, i got above 2000 on the SAT's and play varsity basketball and run track, i also am a church leader and used to teach martial arts classes.

i'm not sure how high on their list i was, but thats giving you an idea. hard hard work.

  • congrats, but don't be stuck up when you get there. everyone else is just as proficient, smart, etc. at my table for beast, there were 5 eagle scouts, 8 were national honor society, we had a valedictorian, a salutitorian, everyone had high gpas and crazy sat scores.

when you go, just remember that you are back at the bottom of the food chain. being the best from home doesnt count when everyone else was the best too.

    good luck. class of 2013?

  • would a sat score of 1700 and gpa or 4.0 with 2 honor classes make it?

and i didnt go to eagle scouts but im president of my club

and im in my highschool football team.

do u think ill make it?

  • I really don't know. I had a 1810 on the SAT, the equivalent of an Eagle Scout Award, and a 3.56 GPA and got sent to the Prep School. Now, I was also weak in math, which is not good considering that the West Point Curriculum is very math-oriented.

  • More than a 3.8 if you aren't in high leadership positions in clubs and or sports. Try to take some AP's if you can

  • i had a gpa that didn't truly reflect my intelligence, so i took AP US History and aced the test, i also am taking the ACT and SAT and plan on doing very well. if anybody has any more tips for bettering my chances of acceptance, please PM me.

  • a good interview.

    athletics

    LEADERSHIP

    NHS

    Eagle Scout

    good recommendations

pm me if you wanna talk

  • I'm a freshman in high school with about an 86average, im taking mostly honors classes, im a volunteer firefighter, im on the track team, and i am an active memeber of Civil Air Patrol, looking to get my Mitchell award. can someone tell me if im on the right track to West Point of USNA?

  • Pretty much anyone can get IN, if they want to.

The key is deciding that you really want to give your life to the armed services, and following through on it.

The hard part is not going to be getting in, but STAYING in.

  • I got in with an 80 average and a SAT score of 1040/1600. I boxed and worked at a grocery store. I'm sure you can make it to west point.

  • A video from soldiers of the oldest military academy of the world you can find on youtoube under "vbs absam 2008" ...

  • I think the french has the oldest. As we based our military acadmy on theirs.

  • I was wondering if not being in ROTC might be a key disadvantage. Can somebody please give me an answer?

  • Nope, not at all.

Just have a variety of things on your application, like lifeguarding or being a mentor to Boy Scouts- anything like that you can list as leadership experience.

Remember, the Army is looking to build a more diverse and adaptable force for the future.

  • I have to work on leadership skills promto. I only have 2 years left until I graduate, then I will try to apply to west point academy. Im trying to be a church leader, which is a big thing they'll be looking for in my application.

  • no.

just be well rounded and do lots of things.

    church, scouts, athletics, community work.

leadership, job. academics are key too.

  • I want to attend West Point but I am not in ROTC. Does anybody know if that is a major drawback?

  • im a cadet at west point and i never did rotc. it would help but if u do sports (pref capt), good grades, extra curriculars, communtiy service. they want well roudned people

  • You guys are so hooah when you want to come to West Point. Once you get here, you hate it. It's pretty comical.

  • You dont hate it, you have to earn its respect. those who hate it should get outa it and let another man who wants to go go into it

  • Excuse me. How many scores of SAT test do they requir?

  • visit the site

  • I love this video. After High School I intend on attending West Point.

  • This is a very true video. I love it!! GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!!

Btw..Good luck on trying for a spot for one of the classes!! =) It's hard..trust me, I've been there..have yearmates that go to the Point.

**Is this a mix of all the classes or just one class in particular?

Thanks. Brings back good memories. =)

  • I want to go on west point! I am Croat so can I?

  • TCBOBBY with all that stuff ur chances are prolly decent. Though i don't think a 28 on the ACT will cut it

  • false - I know plenty of people here right now with much lower scores than that....

admissions looks at the total picture, not just any one area

  • That's technically not true, my SAT scores were the majority of the consideration. Seriously, no matter what they say, SAT SCORES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT! Trust me

  • u know u have to be real smart to go to west point, its different from just the army

  • So i got a letter the other day from Valley forge Military Academy. Is their any chance i might get into West point.anyone with any info send me a msg. preferably someone who went their

  • i got the same letter. not sure about it though

  • you have to be really smart. Like 4.0 or up.

  • gosh damn west point is sharp. Wish marines were department of the army but my grandparents want me to go to the naval academy. Hopfully some day I will get to do one of those semester transfers

  • This is one of the few things in my life I really want, 100%. I work my ass off at the possibility of being accpeted, I have a 3.97 unweighted gpa, 8 honor classes, 2 Varsity sports (1 captain), 5 years of job experience, 6 extracurriculars, 3 leadership programs, and a 28 on my act

    i've begun the proccess

    what are my chances?

  • you have pretty good chances-do good on your sat's and act's-that is really importaint! GREAT VIDEO!!!

  • Do you have any family members who were officers?

  • I feel the same way as you. I'm only a freshman in High School so I don't have as many advantages as you do but I hope that changes by the time that I apply.

  • lies thats too good. i bet u can go into harvard. u know wat u should just let the normal people take this job and u get ur ass into a medical school and make a cure for cancer

  • GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY

  • gberet20 you need to contact your congressman's office and get the necessary forms to apply - you should also apply to your senator as well. best of luck...you will need to focus and persevere to succeed - but that's what WP is looking for!

  • truegriff - wow, this is totally the best thing i've seen on youtube. you must be amazing. thanks much!

  • I'm going to apply to Westpoint in 4 years!

    OOOO... the anticipation

    anyone alumni to westpoint?

  • hahahaha yeah me too, 4 yrs thats a fucking long time ours is a year!

  • boys boys getting into the British Army as an officer is much harder than getting into west point!, 1000 words.....discuss! hahaha

  • haha to each his own...I'm just glad we're allies.

  • do you know what the music behind this is?

  • i like the sink navy part at the end lol

  • yeah you wish...maybe nextyear Charlie Brown!!!!!(That was a cool video though)

  • What a great video and Army Strong song! As I watched, I immediately noticed something very familiar to me. It was Class of 2009's Banner "For Your Freedom and Mine", as they marched back from CBT the Summer of 2005. I am honored to say that I am a proud parent of a Class of 2009 Cadet!

  • All of the Academies look at the whole person concept. They evaluate a potential cadet on academics, leadership, athletics, and other areas.

  • Many Thanks To IKE for the chance at life.

D-Day was a good call it saved my Grandmother later on in the war by 15 Mins. Thank You West Point out of You Come Great Men and Women Who Help Change The World For The Better

  • i cant wait to go i was recruited for there ncaa rifle team now im just waiting untill i graduate then im going to there prep school for a year and im there

  • I have a GPA of 4.0, and i got a 30 on my act/sat i think im ready, i am also captain of the wrestling and football team and i plkay baseball. Will i be accepted there, west point is the one i want to go to fuck nvay.

  • Well If thats all true then you more than likely meet the physical and academic needs. However as I have told another hopefull candidate on here you need to get a congressional nomination unless your already in the military then you can just get one from your company commander like I'm doing in the National Guard.

  • how do u get a congressional nomination?

  • u have a good chance

  • I wanted to join west point all my life sophmore in high school

  • West Point is THE place to be!

It is beautiful, and full of tradition.

    No place is like it.

If you think you can get in, then go for it.

If you make it, just think of the honor that will be with you for the rest of your life!!

People will always look up to you because you are not only a leader, but a West Point leader!!!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I really want to go to west point

    Go ARMY beat NAVY

  • i'm only a freshman in high school but my whole life i've wanted to go to west point this summer i'm going to there ranger style wrestling camp =]

  • HAHAHAAAAA IM IN THIS! 1:32 guess who!

  • nice. i loved getting hit in the face by our instructor. haha.

  • So I take it you were at the academy and I was wondering? Just how hard is the school work there? Also if you happen to know, how well does the USMAPS (Prep School) for West Point prepare you for cadet life and the school work etc.?

  • ya i knew i needed the nomination, but a congressman lives in our town ill c wat i can do, it sounds like a good way 2 go, ill have to work it out because ive got football in the summer too

  • can u do that as a junior

  • Yes you can I'm doing the same thing. As long as your 17 with parents permission you can enlist. It will help you get in with the prior service record. Plus if you have done your research you know you need a congressional nomination to even be considered and those are hard to get. But in the guard you can just get one from your company commander, ya its a lot easier.

  • Hey man, stop telling people to do that it's by far more difficult to get in from the actual military. Additionally if you don't get your CO's approval then you're stuck with your enlistment and can't go to another school until you're done. Look at the numbers ~1300 New Cadets and only ~100 come from the active army and maybe 150-200 from the prep school. When I was a cadet I did my fair share of hometown recruiting, so trust me on this one. For Country and Corps, 2004.

  • To be honest, no one route is easier than the other. While enlistment does help you get some experience in the real army, it does not mean you are automatically accepted. Neither does going to college for a year or two. If you excel while enlisted or in college (just like if you excel in high school) you have a good chance of getting in. Bottom Line: there is not really one route that guarantees your admittance, it's all based on your past performances.

  • i wanna go to wp so bad, im a junior and im just starting my admissions process. is it really hard to get in

  • Hey do what i did join the National Guard and go to basics this summer it will help you get in.

  • I was there this summer for the summer siminar. That was the most fun I have ever had in my whole life.

  • GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!

  • Man, I am here now. It is no good. I see all these people applying and feel sorry for them. Go to a civilian college, do ROTC, enlist, but avid USMA.

  • Why would you say that? I mean my family has had 4 of its members go through West Point in the last 100 years or so and I'm probably going to be the fifth. So I'm curious what do you not like about it?

  • you think your an adult? come to WP and think agian ....thats why

  • i love that song, im applying this year also

  • to be honest i think that if you can get into west point w/o going to the prep school you'll be much better off. most of the prepsters i know i cynical as shit, but are still cool guys. i've heard the prep school is a good time but if you can do the 4 year, instead of the 5 year program (prep school), i think you'll be just fine.

  • Applying this year too. Love the "Sink Navy."

  • hey is it as hard to get into west point prep as it is to getinto west point.

  • i don't know. i did not go to the prep school.

  • what gpa do you need to get into west point or give an example. And i am joing west point prep will that help me get into the academy? thanks, from one soldier to another.

  • you want to have the best grades and SAT scores you can. most cadets had around a 4.0 in high school. prep school basically makes sure you'll get in.

  • thanks

  • Good

    Signed James R. Butteri

  • The soundtrack is just GREAT!

  • I've watched this video no less than 100 times...absolutely AWESOME! Gets me everytime. Well done, thetruegriff, well done!

  • I am applying to USMA for the class of 2012.

  • You seem to know what you want. I hope you get in and graduate at the top of your class.

  • Nice and intense, all army needs leader and honnor, in USA and in Switzerland, respect

  • what is this song called? i want to lean how to play it.

  • It's just called Army Strong
