I think you all are not getting the point here. Old folks can only do so much farming. You can't eat money. If there are no young people to grow food, then all the money in the world won't keep you fed.

Nrang- Having the right to practice the religion of your choice (or not practice) doesn't mean you have the right not to be offended. That is what free society is all about. You also don't have the right to legislate your beliefs for everyone else, and this is good for the non-religious AND religious alike. Things like blasphemy laws go not only against the ideas of free speech, but the ideals of progressive western civilization from which you yourself benefit.

@JulianThePhilosopher Kids are a cash drain and there's no guarantee they will support them in the future. If you eliminate Social Security the only choice is have NO kids and put every dollar you can into savings.

@videoguy604 Although there is no guarantee that kids will support them in old age. Rational people will have more kids, so the likelyhood of 1 kid looking after them is higher. A good example is Greece, although they have good retirement benefits, hey have one of the fastest declining populations.
