  • Paid in full is probably one of the best albums ever made

  • pump up the volume

  • Rakim the legend

  • This was my "JOINT" when I was in the Army, (Eric B and Rakim ) Was Deeeeee, Joint. I loved them. Back in "The Kangol Dayz.

  • "so upset that I'm wet cause you're sweatin me."

  • i used to dance to this shit in the clubs back in 88---89---ish

  • @polkin56

DAMN when I hear this song I wish I was BLACK so I could move to this song instead of looking like a cracked out retard on the dance floor.

  • yeah for real Dog WTF with all these remakes? Damn I heard this at a club in Miami and they played it right after DMC what a trip, the good ole days!!

  • it's the real McCoy

  • Wow this was another one that would jam pack the club floor! This brings back memories. This is great rap music!

  • The truth, It was by Bobby Byrd with help from the JB's and arranged by the man himself....James Brown. James sued to get paid, which he regretted years later, but it was a lawyer money thang. Know the ledge and know your story....not his. Ya dig?....Sho nuff

  • The greatest of all time.... '...this is how it should be done...listen to it, the concept might break you, cause almost anyone can relate to... The youngins just don't understand.

By the way this was sampled from Bobby Byrd's " I know you got soul"

  • Thank you 4 have n the real version........Peace 2 reallll HIP-HOP!!!!

  • this is the real shit , takin me back to the ol skool party , goodtimes ish , when they were talkin real ish

  • @blac2thafuture The OlSkoolMusiQueen says Oh Yeah!!!

  • Dj Phil Ty - Miami Belch

  • why isn't there the "i fuckin' love it" button?????

  • I love this version - all those fancy pants remixes leave me cold - this is gold. I'm not a big fan of rap but I bought this as a 12" back in the 80s & there's nothing like it - pure brilliance - thanks Mr B & Rakim :)

  • @Deandwl Are you trying to rap????

  • i don't even like rap but i love this song.

  • Love the song....the only thing I had beef with was that he tried to claim the song as his own......When anyone who knows anything about old knows this is a James Brown track--superbly sampled!.....Notheless, after being sued for copyright infringement, James got full credit!.....Like I said before, had it not been for James Brown, Sly Stone, & George Clinton, a lot of these rappers of the '80s would be out of work!

  • @tljones9 there's no record with james brown's name on it so your arguement has a huge flaw

  • @TheMexOfAmerica apparently you were an infant when Eric B. & Rakim dropped this............this was a clear cut sample of the song WRITTEN AND PRODUCED BY JAMES BROWN......and the song originally came out in 1970.......for proof......buy the compilation "James Brown's Funky People"......and take the pacifier out your mouth before you argue with GROWN PEOPLE about Classic Soul music!

  • @tljones9 And if you want more proof the name of the song they "sampled" this from is called..."I Know You Got Soul"

  • @tljones9 - there is a difference between sampling a song and claiming the song is yours. Rakim was PAYING HOMAGE to James Brown and in turn got sued. hence the next album.."james brown must've been dusted..disgusted...now he cant be trusted.." do you know how hard it is to chop a song, filter it, add 3 layers and then add drums, reverb, mix. u act like sampling = biting. listen to bomb squad / premier/dilla/pete rock..and see if u can replicate what they do. lol

  • sweet track! 1st heard it on thrasher: skate & destroy then onto more rakim songs

  • SO many quotable in this..lines lifted for hooks..in one song.

  • omg my dance club dancin to tis song so ill

  • Greatest rap song EVER!!!

  • Greatest rapper alive!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The real, they need to take that other bullsht down...

  • he we go ICE..... R.I.P.

  • The effing GOD of the Mic!

  • "Cause i'm gonna manifest and bless the mic i hold" That's what up!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's been a long time!

  • massive!! xxx

  • Rakim's lyrics are easy to learn...This is why hip hop was the best not this crappy today's fakers.

  • So this one removes all the samples! Thanks for posting

  • to me, that´s the only mix that counts. an all time classic!

  • Rakim is sooo fine!!

  • @stacynewyork :) His vocals are so smooth. (and yes he is fine)

  • there's no rap music such as this one.

the greatest rap music ever recorded,

damn he should made a video to this, ITS A REAL CLASSIC TO OWN....

  • @2009kamar It also was on heavy rotation in urban radio.

  • @2009kamar But.. I thought they made a vid for it? At least they have one on VEVO.

  • Comment removed

  • Even though Eric isn't a rapper.

  • @floari1804 Every other mix has the J5 remix which is great but I like the original.

  • Yea lol. I clicked on one and it was a fuckin techno remix. Maker should be hung.

  • Damn im glad you put this on! whats up with all the stupid ass remixes? I almost lost it looking for this OG shi*.
