@Prowler609 Your comment is filled with "Malaise" the same term for fear and self loathing that the media attached to the attitude of Pres. Jimmy Carter. Take a cue from Pres. Regan and have some godamn faith in America. We are not ruined or finished or whatever pussy-ass weak willed term you want to use. Buck up, grow a pair, remember the tough times your ancestors went through and stop whining.
OOOOOO Blame it on Midnight EEEEWWWW Shame on the Moon Until you've been Beside a Man You don't what who he knows MY Verrry Vavorite Bob Seger ( slow) song ! Those were the days my friend !
Damn the weekends and Youtube!! I sit and listen to and reminisce with these old songs that are from the earliest years of my adulthood and realize,, I’ll never be 22 again, it will never be 1982 again and MTV will never be a Music Video Station again ,, I also realize America will never be the great nation it was then…. I want My MTV and a President like Reagan!!!
@Prowler609 What you say is the truth. I can blow away a weekend watching the old vids. My early adulthood was in the early 70's and know just what you mean.
@Prowler609 that's exactly what I have been doing tonight!!!! This song came out the year I was expecting my first child...and was the best year of my life...thank you youtube for keeping these memories alive!!!
when I was about 6, the only way to get me to fall asleep was to take me for a car ride. So my dad always took me around the block a few times. So this song reminds me of my father since this song was popular at the time and was always on.
i remeber this songb the dcay i gopt outta county lockup. them squares what thhink they's all fancy and superier to I, theysgotta lissen to this here. cuase if you aint been in jale, you donr knows what it be
This song touches my soul,It's simply the truth,I have a lot of male pride, and this song help's me explain in a strange way how I feel inside.Thank you KOUJI328 for posting this. And Thank you Bob Seger.
this song puzzled me until my old grandaddy in Texas explianed it to me. He said the human race is descented from big apes who all look alike. The apes picked their mates by the way they smelled. Humans evolved into different shapes and sdikzes so its much harder for ujs to get along.
This is one of the iconic male anthems. It describes perfectly the way the typical guy feels/operates: keep your emotions to yourself; women are hopelessly confusing and contradictory; Murphy's law is lurking around every curve just waiting for the slightest misstep. This is one of those perfect songs for when I'm in a grim mood; it reinforces perfectly how I feel.
i saw the pearley gates bob here is a vision i had with my daugher i caled after jenny i jennifer my daughter and your wife ina vision my jennifer was 9 years old isaw her dressed ina white dress and white frills and white shoes she had a whit dove above her head she had a big white rabbit in her arms right next to her i saw jesus his robe was glisting and his facing was brighter has the sun and he had a scarf on it was powderblue your wife is the same
The lyrics to the song say it all"Once inside a womans heart a man must keep his head, heaven opens up the door where angels fear to trend. WOW !!!!!!!!! I cant say I've ever heard it put any better than that.Bob Seger is the man.........
So sexy.... Ive seen him several times in concert and might go to another concert if he were to give one....
Had to copy this: Rodney Crowell wrote this song, along with many others. He came into his own writing songs hanging with Townes Van Zandt... and it shows

Shame on the Moon for doing all those magical things to two people in love. Great song, Bob is amazing. Knows how to make you feel good. Thanks Bob! Juniquejulie
This song is on the top 10 list of favorites and brings back many childhood memories. I grew up on this song along with most of Alabama's music. My parents were recently divorced and my mother's friends listened to this music and then my mother was hooked and that is how I became hooked. I also fondly remember this music as one of my mothers friends-who was HOT- also was my babysitter and she would always crank this music up on the radio as she babysat me. Those were the carefree days!
Pure Americana, long live the great red, white & blue !! Forever grateful for this awesome country and Seger's unparralled genius !!!!!!!!!!!!

Only Billie Jean kept this out of the #1 spot. A video probably would have pushed it to the top. They were very influential at the time.
