The problem with republicans and democrats is that republicans flush the economy down the shitter with their tax cuts for big businesses and their expensive wars etc., then the democrats fix it somewhat, then the republicans are re-elected, and repeat the procedure, and we can never actually improve the economy.
The problem with calling this or that "big business" (besides it being fundamentally not American, being class warfare) is look at it from the point of view of entrepreneurs and angel investors. They risk *everything* and want it to pay off. It's an emotionally and financially draining experience that has a high likelihood of failure. The *only* reason to do it is the payoff later but if the payoff is a higher tax bracket there's far less incentive.
The existence of classes I do not deny, but anyone who doesn't see that Obama fanned the class warfare flames to get elected is not being objective. Nobody thinks of themselves as rich: 250k in New York City is barely enough to get an apartment while it's a treasure in Houston. As for taxing the rich, a small business takes between 100k to a half million to start up and the only people with that kind of liquid are those you would call rich, to lend the money to the middle class.
1) Obama didn't speak about class at all. His platform was mostly concerned with the Iraq War, change, hope, and other meaningless slogans. Or did I miss him speaking about the working poor, black neighborhoods, the white poor, poor working immigrants and wall street greed(except in the context of the crisis)?
2) A normal apartment can be rented in NYC 4 $600 a month.
3) Small businesses usually start up by receiving a bank loan, not by receiving arbitrary altruistic gifts/loans from the rich.

The problem with calling this or that "big business" (besides it being fundamentally not American, being class warfare) is look at it from the point of view of entrepreneurs and angel investors. They risk *everything* and want it to pay off. It's an emotionally and financially draining experience that has a high likelihood of failure. The *only* reason to do it is the payoff later but if the payoff is a higher tax bracket there's far less incentive.

The existence of classes I do not deny, but anyone who doesn't see that Obama fanned the class warfare flames to get elected is not being objective. Nobody thinks of themselves as rich: 250k in New York City is barely enough to get an apartment while it's a treasure in Houston. As for taxing the rich, a small business takes between 100k to a half million to start up and the only people with that kind of liquid are those you would call rich, to lend the money to the middle class.

1) Obama didn't speak about class at all. His platform was mostly concerned with the Iraq War, change, hope, and other meaningless slogans. Or did I miss him speaking about the working poor, black neighborhoods, the white poor, poor working immigrants and wall street greed(except in the context of the crisis)?
2) A normal apartment can be rented in NYC 4 $600 a month.
3) Small businesses usually start up by receiving a bank loan, not by receiving arbitrary altruistic gifts/loans from the rich.

2. Maybe a garbage apartment but you miss the point 100k is a lot some places in others it is not. What is normal to you is not normal to others.
3. Angel investors are individuals. Banks are backed by stocks owned by what you call "rich." The point stands there is great risk in business and most attempts fail.

1) It's not about 'selling', it's about being honest and telling your truthful opinion. And yes, progressive taxation is a key improvement.
2) It's not like the prices vary by 1000%, and it's not like even 1% of US citizens live in NYC or similarly expensive regions, so what's the deal?
3) Angel investors could easily be replaced by more flexible loan systems functioning without the high interest rates currently charged by angel investors.

3) If you tax the super rich more, the money will go to the state, and the state can use that capital to fund business cooperatives where the combined incentive to create a working company will lead to less failures and less short term looting.

I do not believe Obama understands the role entrepreneurs must have. An example is the lower unemployment numbers recently, boosted by hiring for the US Census. Private jobs, not government jobs, are the key. He better learn fast or turn into another Jimmy Carter.

They want to protect the small businesses, yet give tax cuts and contracts to the super rich. They want to have a strong national defense, yet provoke violent reactions from other nations and people by an aggressive foreign policy. Ron Paul worshippers simply don't like Reagan's message that high deficits and tax cuts creates growth, even though it works. The Bush era was *not* an era of total fiscal irresponsibility: percentage of tax receipts paid to service the debt was 10%, less than Clinton era 15% but libertarians and liberals alike ignore this fact. But at least liberals think the spending was misdirected -- libertarians simply hate spending and like liberals wank to balanced budget.

I will take restaurants, dry cleaners and variety stores over Internet garbage any day. Someone has to invest the wealth to open that new business. For everyone out there who thinks that they're an expert on socialism and/or communism all of the sudden, it's likely you're not.
First of all, you can start by replacing the word "tenant", with "tenet". A tenant is someone who rents or occupies land. A tenet is a belief or principle strongly held to be true.

Quite simply, the difference between socialism and capitalism is "to each according to his need" (socialism) and "to each according to his efforts" (capitalism). Anyone who prefers the first one over the second is probably drunk with giddy joy over what is happening in America. Gimmee, gimmee, gimmee.
Socialist countries produce NOTHING! They usually devolve into communist countries because of this inevitable fact. GM and Chrysler take money - and go bankrupt. Ford survives. The lesson.

Social Security and Medicaid are both just a couple of years from their doom. The ONLY people who really benefitted from their existence were the people who ORIGINALLY paid into the program - the WWII generation. The rest of us will see NOTHING, which illustrates the "big lie" of socialist programs. Well for one he calls the Constitution a flawed document. He wants to change it. And we all know he surrounds Himself with radical communists, so we know he wants to change the Constitution to resemble the communist manifesto.
