all depends on your budget. under 600 i would recomend the mini, if you got a couple grand just layin round go with the ego, geo, dm9, or dm8. i have a mini and a evil minion and they are both really great guns. I highly recomend them. good luck with your choice.

if any one wants a good middle-end gun that is way more relieible than an ion get a PMR (proto matrix rail) they are as good as dm5s and are awesome for anyone.

if you get the redz ion it performs amazingly better than the stock ion.

it has:

redz pepper sticks barrel

redz bolt

clamping feed neck

asa

and a cool body kit.

thats better than the PMR!

sadly thats just more metal than the pmr.

what it really ends up being is that the ion is out of date now and no one really wants one because everyone ALREADY had one and sold it. A barrel and clamping feedneck dont make a better gun.

Not so. Ions are designed to run on compressed air (which people often call nitrogen since air is 70% nitrogen) or CO2 (as long as it has an anti-siphon.) No paintguns are made to run on N2O (laughing gas.)

Ions are starter guns anyways, or backups...and whoever is using co2 isnt playing speedball anyways, unless you play like stock class and even then i dont see any co2

spyders arent bad you just have to get up in the price range of the ion and theyre just as good and or better depending on the ups and gun, like the electa 06 or mr2 mr3

save up about $400 and get a invert mini badass gun that keeps up with the $1000 guns one of the smallest & lightest markers out on the market

not worth the money to get any ups for a 98, except for a barrel. stock barrels suck. if you want a decent gun that's worth upgrading, get an ion.

help- im buying a new marker, and trying to stay within the 250$ range. Iv narrowed it down to a Smart Parts Ion (stock), Kingman Spyder Pilot, and a Tippmann 98 custom pro ACT with e-grip. WHich one should i pick

and yes i am a kinda noob to paintball, only played for about a year, but am tired of paying constant fees for crappy rental 98 customs at the fields.

well....ions are good, but u have to shoot compressed air...spyders suck, and the 98 custom is a reliable gun. If u can save up some money, get an ion....otherwise get the 98 with e-grip

I think I've been there. If that is the place I went to, they got new stuff in the outdoors feild. I only did a couple of rounds out there, I love the warehouse tho. The first and last time I have ever went paintballing was back in like 2000. I would love to do it again!
