Catering companies don't charge for some things and put it all under cookies and muffins for accounting purposes. That is why they cost 8 dollars get your facts straight.

They DIDN'T really spend that much on muffins and coffee!
The DOJ set a budget for the event.
They handed that budget to a catering company to provide as much food and refreshments that the money will get.
Instead of billing each item separately, catering companies queue up the total price and average it on just a couple of items, like muffins and cookies. This is for simplicity when it comes down to accounting.
And yes, Bob, as of last year, Social Security IS bankrupting the country.
