Well, first off...thanks for posting. But as a fellow chaser (over 25yrs. chasing exp....in fact, I was chasing further east into Neb. that same afternoon) I really don't think the vid shows the tornado at all. If indeed it was a tornado...it surely wasn't very strong. It looked pretty benign to me. Also, you could've trimmed a good 4 mins. off of that vid. Thanks again for posting.
Thanks for watching naderchaser, but I am not a "chaser". I am a professional truckdriver. And you are right; the video doesn't show the actual toranado. It passed directly behind me, and I illustrated the video with graphics ONLY to emphasize the dangers of driving a semi truck.
I did not "see" a tornado, I am relying on the truckdriver behind me who told me "it" crossed the road directly behind me, which accounts for the sudden change of wind direction illustrated in the video.
If I would have known I was as close to the tornado as I was, I would have stopped somewhere safe. As soon as I knew I was "in the shit", there was no place to safely pull off the road.
bloody good drive to keep that truck in its lane etc.
